  1. Get the Philippine passport at the DFA. Use both to exit the Philippines, and the U.S. Passport at POE.

My baby has a Philippine passport too. Anyway, do you know where can I get the GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING FORM online? Can you give me the link for that if you know it? I can't find it in the CFO's website..... :(

  2. hi, I am just waiting for my baby's CRBA. Does that means even if my baby got his US passport I can also get him a Philippine passport? If so, what passport am I going to use in case he will be coming to the US? I already know that if he get approve he don't need a visa anymore to go to US.

It's up to you guys if you decide to get a PI passport for your baby, it's not mandatory to have one once the baby has his/her US passport already. We decided to get a PI passport forour baby because if me and my baby need to travel back to the Philippines for emergency reasons, then she can stay with me longer than a year.

Based on what I have read for Fil-Ams travel, you will use the US passport in entering and/or leaving the US. And based on my understanding of the Phil. law, you will use the PI passport in leaving and/or entering the PI as well. In short, you will use the PI passport from NAIA Philippines and use the US passport upon arrival to a US territory airport. But then to make sure, just present both passports in any airports, it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck. :)

Any members here can correct me if I'm wrong. :)

  3. Hi guys! Is it also needed to have my dual citizen baby get registered at CFO? She has both US passport and Philippine passport. If so, what other documents should I bring during the registration process since she has a US passport and not a visa on her Philippine passport?

And by the way, I cannot find the GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING FORM only the registration form on the CFO website, can anyone out there help me find to where I can get it online? Thanks a lot! :)

  4. It is best to just attend the seminar when you have your visa in hand. You can attend now as well, however, you will still need to go back when you have your visa in your hand so they can put the sticker in your passport. So, to save time, energy, and money it's best to just go there when you have the actual visa.

They won't let you have your husband and child inside the seminar room. There is a waiting area and they can wait there. I dunno with PRISM but with the other one, the waiting area is outside the place itself - so hot.

    Hope that helps.

Oh thank you for that suggestion, it helps! :)

  5. Hello all

have been reading here for more than a year, and finally decided to move forward with our lives, so the k1 process is starting hoping to have all done and sent by this next week,

but i do have a few questions

    1. i have seen her more than 8 times since 2009 but we do not have pictures together but we do have pics of each of us in same room so u see every thing is same in back ground,

but do have phone records, many plane stubs and copy of passport will that be enough as she is from the Philippines.

    2. also packet is almost ready to go fingers crossed but very confused on where do i send it do i send it to the drop box location in tx as i am in seattle washington

    thank u in advance

If I am the adjudicator, I am not 100% convinced that you 2 have met within the past 2 years or never been met in person at all. And will think that those pictures of each of you with the same background is just a "trick" cos I will wonder how come you 2 never had even a single pic together knowing you 2 are engaged. But then it doesn't hurt to give it a shot, who know's you will get your NOA2 really quick too! Good luck! :)

  6. i just wanna ask if it is necessary to write both of our names in the Hotel Receipts to show proofs that we've been together..What if its only his name written on it?..is it valid?...Which is the right one?..Thanks

Hi. My fiance' sent our hotel receipts, only his name was in there, we don't have photos together in those hotels and condos we had stayed before. And now, we just got our NOA2 in less than 3 months without any RFEs.

So, you should be okay.

  7. My boyfriend and I are in the early stages of starting the fiance visa process. I want to get the I-129F out ASAP, but we won't be technically announcing our engagement to the world until after my parents meet him when we travel to Tanzania this August. Will they reject my application if I say that we aren't yet engaged, but will be? Many thanks!

You shouldn't say to USCIS that you guys are not engaged when you file/send the I-129F. I-129F are for those USC engaged to a foreign national. If you want to send the I-129F now together with other docs like the letter of intent, that means you are engaged and it's not necessary to tell the whole world that you are engaged (it depends on the couple). If you think you are not engaged yet (cos maybe there was no proposal happened) and wants to file for I-129F now, then just make sure to provide proofs of having met in person within the past 2 years and any relevant docs needed and you should accomplish that statement you will make or that letter of intent that you will marry your boyfriend within 90 days of his arrival in the US.

  8. Hello again ka-VJ! I want to have my CFO seminar done somewhere next month during my and my fiance's vacation. I will do it whether in Manila or Cebu. Is it too early yet to have it done? We will not make appointment yet for the K1 visa interview, will schedule interview appointment in due time.

And by the way, can I bring my fiance' to that seminar even if he will just be sitting beside me and wait for the session to be finished? I am also planning to bring our 9 months old baby in that seminar. Does the CFO people allow it? What other documents should I bring aside from those listed on the site?

  9. Has anyone just recently made any hotel reservations online for Manila? I have attempted to and receive NO response from any of the hotels I have tried. I tried the booking page on the hotel web site and also have followed up to the hotels email address and receive NO reply from either.

My last trip (2 years ago) I went to the hotel web site and filled out the booking page and clicked send. I then received within 12 hours a reply and confirmation. I have tried this many times in the past 4 days and also sent some hotels 4 times but NO Replies.

What I have noticed this time that was not there for any previous trip, was a link on the hotel website "Reserve Now...with instant confirmation" Clicking on this link brings you to the url http://reservations.directwithhotels.com This link asks for all the specific reservation information and asks for a credit card and charges your card 10% of the reserved room stay which is applied to your total hotel bill upon checkin. Could it be possible that most all hotels in Manila now use this reservation service and just have neglected to remove the hotel booking page on their web site?

Uhhmm... Why wont you call that hotel you chose first and see if they confirmed your reservation? When my fiance' booked a hotel for me before through agoda, that hotel sent me an email of confirmation but then I called them also to make sure/verify.

  10. Tourist visas don't need sponsorship. You can send an invitation letter to the person if you'd like. Ultimately the person applying for the visa must show strong ties to home to obtain the visa.

Tourist visa needs sponsorship if someone(host) will finance the trip. I applied for a tourist visa before but was not lucky to be issued a visa because I was not able to provide strong ties to my country. My now fiance' is the host when I applied for it and he sent an invitation letter to me/addressed it to me to bring in the interview as additional proof.

  11. First I want to say I am happy for those couples getting approved so fast. Its a blessing. But why is vermont so slow compared to California. I am at 7 months now waiting and california is approving people waiting only 2 months???? My heart is breaking and I am really not understanding all this waiting. Is it less staff? Is it more cases? WHAT????? I know so many people on VJ waiting for even longer then me. This is hard to see others be approved so fast. Our lives are on hold....Why do you think the big difference between vermont and california?

Hello there. We are just one of those lucky couples who got approved fast and we are from CSC. All I can say is that "great things will happen for those who wait". My fiance' keep reminding me of this powerful statement from the Bible. I hope and pray for you and other's fast approval. God bless. :)

    -Love

  12. A K-1 will receive notice from NVC that your case has been forwarded to Manila for processing. Once your case has been processed you will be given notice that your are eligible to be scheduled for an interview (about 6-8 weeks total time).

You call the embassy and you will then be asked for your email address and your appointment letter will be sent to that email.

When I called for our interview I was given a choice of about 1 month of when I could choose the date of the interview.

    Yes. :)

Congrats on the fast approval. Good luck and God bless you both!

    Thank you. :)
  13. Congrats on such a quick approval. Here is a little information that I hope helps you.

You still have a couple of months before your interview will happen. Then, once approved, your K1 Visa is valid for 6 months to travel to Us to get married. So, theoretically, you would not have to leave until 8 months later. That will get you until after you take your licensure exam. Do you take the NCLEX?? Just wondering..... I hope this helps. I am sure you will get some other great suggestions from members who may have had similar experiences.

    Good Luck

Yes, this helps also. Thank you John and Mari. :) No, I did not take the NCLEX-RN yet. I will just take it in the US later when I get there. Hope I will pass on my nursinng exams, include me in your prayers it would help a lot! :) Thank you.

  14. The visa is to allow you entry into the country to marry. At Customs & Immigration they will endorse that visa and then it will become null and void. Meaning it's done, finished, over. You will get an arrival/departure record, also known as an I-94. It will be stamped with an expiry date of 3 months from your entry. If you haven't complied with the terms of your visa.... which is to get married within 90 days.... then you must leave the US prior to your I-94 expiring. When you adjust status you will send them a copy of the I-94. They aren't interested in the visa anymore. It's been used.

Oh really.... This is a big info and help to me. Thanks a lot!

  15. how long wld ur nursing exam b?is it online exam.

No, it's not online exam and can never be done through online, I should be physically present in the testing center for the exam. :)

U just shld take the opportunity u bn craving for.

Yes, I will take the oppurtunity I've been craving for-and that is to take a licensure exam for my career. I'm not craving for the K1 visa, I'm just very much grateful to Above that I met a very wonderful man to whom I can build a life together. It just happens that he is a USC. So, that's why we apply for I-129F cos he wants to take me to his place and because we do not want to be separated after we get married. :)

Ur visa is closer than ur exam, which can b done anywhere.

My Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam can be done anywhe in the PHILIPPINES only and not to other country/countries. :)

For me i will go ahead with my migration rather than tryin to shift

Thank you for your opinion. :)
  16. Your 129 F is valid for 4 months. I've heard that there is an automatic 4 month extension in Manila but I don't know this for certain. You might want to have the petitioner sign a request for an extension in case you need it.

As far as I know the Manila embassy does not schedule appointments. They send a notice saying you are eligible to schedule the appoinment. It can be done on line or on the phone. I don't know how far in advance you can do this but I do know you have to pay the Visa fee before you schedule and that receipt is good for one year i believe.

You should check with the embassy on both these points.

As others have said the visa date is separate from the 90 days. If you travel anytime within the visa date your 90 days begins when you arrive in the U. S.

Good luck on your nursing exams and in arranging your times.

    Thank you. :)

  17. It's only the petition which was approved. (Congratulations. :) )

That was tough huh? Wasn't it?hee.. Anyway, thank you. :)

The next stage is the visa application process. You're best to post over in the Philippines Regional Forum to find out what's involved in that and how long it takes. You still need to do a medical, etc, so it's going to take some additional time. You have a lot more forms to fill out yet.

Yeah, I know. Thanks for reminding me of this info. :)
