  1. my NOA2 was March 28, and I got the mail from NVC May 7(where the date on the mail was April 14th). And I haven't got any email. So I waited more than a month to get my case number. That sucks and so wasted time, but everything so much better then. Just be patient, and never lose hope. :)

Thanks so much! That actually relieves a little of the stress on my brain of worrying why they are taking so long. Staying faith filled.

    Good luck everyone!

  2. Your petition won't be at NVC long enough for you to do anything there.

You have the right to withdraw the petition anytime before the beneficiary uses the visa to enter the US. The INA doesn't give clear guidance how this should be done, but it's generally agreed that the withdrawal needs to be in writing. I would send a letter first to the USCIS service center that approved the petition notifying them that you want to withdraw your petition. I would send a copy of that letter to the US consulate where the petition is being forwarded to from the NVC. I would have both letters notarized. Be sure the letter mentions both the USCIS case number, as well as the Department of State case number assigned by the NVC.

This sounds like the proper step to take. Although you can always call them, I do not believe they will make any moves until the withdrawal is received in letter form. It is imperative you move on this immediately. You can also try calling NVC and speaking to a representative to see what, if anything, they can do at their location. Good luck.

  3. Our NOA2 was May 27th but NVC still has not received anything yet.. Is this normal? We've called everyday and of course they say it can take between 2-4 weeks, but looking at everyones timelines it seems like NVC usually receives it within 7 days.. Why would ours be taking longer??? Anyone else having this problem??

Hey there. I'm actually having the very same problem. Mine was approved on May 23rd and NVC has not received (or not logged) my file as yet either. They tell me to wait the full 15 business days :(.

  4. :(

Tuyen left to to visit her brother in CA a couple weeks ago. On Sunday she told me that she did want to come back to MN and was going to go back to VN. She doesn't like the US lifestyle.

She won't come back to get her things. She told my Mom that she's afraid I would hurt her and wouldn't let her go back to VN. I have no idea why she thinks that I would. I've never laid a hand on her. It must be VN cultural thing.

She went to VN over Tet for 3 month and came back a different person. She seemed more isolated. I wasn't the only one to notice the change either. My neighbors and family sensed something wasn't the same.

She laid out all these problems to me once she was in CA.

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. Unfortunately, as has been said, there are many reasons that could behind her not wanting to remain in the United States. If it is possible I would say try and talk to her and see if there is any possibility in you reaching the core of her issues here. If you are not the issue then maybe you can find a common outcome.

  5. Hi All,

I am happy to share that I called DOS this morning and was told we have an interview date on July 1 at 9 am! Call and check if you have a July date. :)

Congrats on your date! I was hoping for a July date really bad. Unfortunately, NVC apparantly still does not have my documents. I have no idea why it's taking so long. :(

  6. Just wondering if anyone knows of an instance where an I-129F fiance visa petition has been denied by USCIS?

We're one of the unlucky ones waiting since December for an answer to our petition. Would be nice to hear something...

Hey there! There have been instances where I-129F petitions have been denied, but it is based specifically on each case. Reasons for denials can include not having met within required time, criminal background issues, citizenship issues, etc. However, as already mentioned, not having heard anything yet does not mean your petition has been denied. I know quite a few people from November still waiting to hear something. You can always feel free to call and see if they can check the status of your petition. If they have no news, then its still waiting to be adjudicated(sp?). Good luck.

  7. :help:

Anyone have suggestions on the best/cheapest way to call Jamaica and Jamaica call U.S.? I have been using Tel3 an internet credit service to put on my cell phone (U.S. phone), and Skype credit for U.S. cell phone. My fiance has been topping up Digicel credit 1,000 JA credit that lasts a week, if even that  And you can only top up a certain amount of times a month because it's supposed to be a monthly plan. So fiance has to switch from two different numbers to keep up with the credit we use! I've used just about every calling card you can find at a store and nothing's good. I've looked online for help to no avail.

    Any suggestions?!

You have definitely got the boat load of information to answer this question! My SO also does the international credit. Either him or I buy, but it still is much cheaper than what I was spending. I also keep $25 worth of credit on my phone from REBTEL which allows me to dial a local number to call him (at no additional charge to me - with unlimited minutes) in case of emergencies. It saves me a ton of money cause trust we talk constantly!

  8. REALLY! ohhh nooo, I want to be there traveling with him back here... so there's really no way of knowing how long that could take? or checking somewhere for a timeframe? mannnnnnnnnn :bonk:

I wanted to do the same as well. But I've been on here long enough to know that it varies GREATLY! I've seen people get the visa back as soon as a few days, some people have had trouble with DHL processing, and some have been told to go back and pick it up because it can't be delivered to them. So, there really is no way to determine how long it will take.

    Good luck.

  9. First I want to say I am happy for those couples getting approved so fast. Its a blessing. But why is vermont so slow compared to California. I am at 7 months now waiting and california is approving people waiting only 2 months???? My heart is breaking and I am really not understanding all this waiting. Is it less staff? Is it more cases? WHAT????? I know so many people on VJ waiting for even longer then me. This is hard to see others be approved so fast. Our lives are on hold....Why do you think the big difference between vermont and california?

I totally understand your line of questioning. Those were the same questions I was asking just a week ago. Unfortunately, there is really no rhyme or reason. Its disappointing not to hear a valid reason. I know. Good thing is that everyone has their day. Your timeline says that you've received an RFE. The upside to that is assuming they now have everything they require and your relationship can be validated by their terms, you should be well on your way to an approval.

    Good luck.

Hey you two... we are in the exact same boat. My NOA1 has the same notice date of 12/01/2010. When I called USCIS on Monday they told me that I needed to wait another 24 days before they could input a service request for me. It is very frustrating. Please try and keep the faith and stay strong. As DizzyLox mentioned, I think we're in the small group of people whose files were possibly placed with January filers. Its frustrating I know.

    Sigh...

  11. You think is it time for me to write to senators/congressman ? I am not really sure if that helps..I will reach 5 months and 2 week on 05/17 since our first NOA and getting really frustrated..I called USCIS and they just gave me a service request #... :crying::huh:

Hey there. I'm right there with you. I have called a few times but I haven't even received a service request number. They basically just told me to wait and then they told me I could email VSC. That has done absolutely nothing for me. Hopefully, we will hear something very soon!
