  1. Hi! We received a RFE on August 3 in regards to my wife's I-693. Apparently my wife's Vaccination worksheet should be certified by a US civil surgeon before sending it with AOS and we did not know that back then. So we searched for a qualified civil surgeon and we found one close to where we live. So we mailed back the RFE with the original letter and the certified I-693 to the address indicated in the letter (US Department Of Homeland Security, PO Box 648004, Lee's Summit MO 64002). I just checked the status of the our package and this message appeared on the USPS website "We attempted to deliver your item at 9:47 am on August 25, 2011 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64002 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available." We are now worrying about the RFE getting there. Please advise...

  2. Hello! My fiancée which is now my wife came in the US with a fiancée visa. She got here on May 7, 2011 and we got married on May 27. We are now in the process of adjusting here status but something is bothering her. She was told that we need to report our marriage to the US Embassy in the Philippines or the Philippine Consulate that is near to where we live. Is this true? Do we really need to the that, and if so how can we report our marriage? Thank you in advance.

  3. Was the I-693 filled out by a Civil Surgeon? Did they use an outdated form (they update them every so often)?

It was not filled out by a civil surgeon. Now I don't know what we did is right or wrong. So my wife filled out all information about her on the Form I-693 and then we left all other pages blank that says to be filled out by a civil surgeon and then attached her Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (DS-3025). We did not know that the Form I-693 should be validated by a civil surgeon if you are K1 fiancée visa adjusting your status. On page 4 of Form I-485 item #8 "For K1 fiancée dependent who had medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement Not the entire report." and this is what we did.

  4. I think the RFE is worded poorly, which is a big problem. If people don't know what to do, how can they fix it?

You never sent in a I-693, so why are they talking about it? It makes no sense.

I am going to guess that you need to go to a Civil Surgeon and get a Vaccine Transcription on form I-693. If your fiancee got some shots at home, it may be time to get the second in a series before she can go on. A clue might be on her old medical. Does it say "incomplete" on the vaccine part?

We did send a Form I-693 and we attached my wife's Vaccination Documentation Worksheet form DS-3025. At the bottom of the worksheet just below results I can see two checked boxes the first one says "Vaccination History Complete" and other one says "Appicat may be eligible for blanket waiver(s) because vaccination(s) not medically appropriate (as Indicated Above)."

  5. It sounds like she did not get a medical in the US, since her medical date is before her POE date. Her old medical may not be complete, and may require vaccination supplement in the US.

No she did not get the medical examination in the US. I don't what are all the needed vaccination but her record shows she got I think 3 vaccinations. Do you where we can find the list of vaccinations needed? I almost forgot to thank you. Thank you for giving us an idea of what might be the problem.

  6. Hi VJ members! My wife came in the US with a K1 visa on May 7, 2011, then on May 27, 2011 we got married. She filed her AOS on June 25, 2011 and on August 3, 2011 she received a letter from USCIS saying that their office can not complete her application because of some missing information. At the bottom if letter there is a box that is crossed out and it says "You submitted Form I-693, Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. However, the civil surgeon certified the exam more that one year before the date the applicant filed the Form I-485. The Form I-693 must be dated within one year of filing Form I-485.". This is not true because my wife's medical examination was dated 3-29-2011. Should we try to call USCIS and explain to them the situation or just mail them again the medical examination report with the letter that they sent us. Any comment or suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you...

  7. Hi good day! Does everyone here know when is the right time for us to contact USCIS regarding this? And also do you know their telephone numbers?

We filed for AOS last July 09 and USCIS received it according to our delivery confirmation last July 12. I know I should be patient but I'm worried because my K1 visa will expire in about 2 days and might have problems after that. I hope someone could help me. Thank you!

Ours took one month, I think yours is coming. After another week we got the schedule for my wife's biometrics appointment. Good luck!

  8. WE got married!!! filing our AOS this week hopefully. Lots of paperwork again but at least we're together. Here are some pics from the wedding!

    MANY BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!! The pictures are beautiful.

  9. Hi! We filed for my wife's AOS on June 25,2011. USPS show it delivered on June 30,2011 but until now we have not received any confirmation from USCIS that they received our application. Not even a text message or an email. We were just wondering if we sent it to the correct address ( P.O. Box 805887,Chicago, IL 60680-4120). My wife came here in the US with a K1 visa. Should I call USCIS now or wait for a little while? Thank you...

  10. I arrived in US 2weeks ago...

I looked up the form to get a SSN, in order to get married (requested by the courthouse). I don't even know if I'm supposed to check "legal alien allowed to work", or "legal alien not allowed to work", or "other".

Some people also tell me that the SSN is not needed to get married even if I seen that info on their website.

the paperwork mess keep going !

That is true you don't need a SSN to get married. My wife and I filed for her AOS last weekend. I know the feeling because we there are a lot of forms needed for the AOS too, but the good thing now is we are now with our loved ones.

  11. Pui passed her interview. The interview did not go well and the lady made her cry and threw her passport back at her. The embassy requested for her to return to the hospital she had her medical at and return with new documents. The hospital had given her forms that had expired and there were newer forms out there. She went back and got the new forms and returned to the embassy and was told she could pick up her passport on the 13th. If she gets her visa on the 13th I will be getting her a ticket to come here on the 30th.

Did they really do that? Did they throw her passport to her?

  12. I received my visa 2days ago, I'm still working for 2 weeks here in France and then the 17th june I finally get to be with my fiancee forever!!!

infact I'm so much in a hurry that I finish work thursday 16th june and leave for USA the day after :D

    what about you?

That's good to hear. As for me, I got married last May 27th. That's why I've been busy and did not have time to log in here in visa journey. Good luck to you I know you are so excited right now.
