  1. So her petition has been approved at USCIS and now she's at NVC doing the Affidavit of support documents and than the IV Bill documents.

    No her husband will not be doing a Adjustment of Status.Thats for couples who filed here from like a visitor Visa, Tourist Visa or K1 visa. 2 years from his POE (Port of entry or arrival date) well 90 days before that 2 years they will do a ROC (removal of conditions) since they are married less than 2 years at the time the visa will be issued.

    So again its a ROC (removal of conditions) not an Adjustment of Status that they will do 2 years from the date of arrival. He will move from a 3 year green card to a 10 year green card.

    Got it! Thank you so much... I will Like your answer of this is on Facebook. Hahaha thanks again

  2. So your sister and her husband are both here in the US? You say she submitted the Affidavit of support? I'm confused as to what is being filed and what stage they are at. That would help and if hey are filling and they both are here or what. I assume the husband is the beneficiary?

    And is your sister a USC or LPR?

    Her husband is still in the Philippines. My sister is a USC. The petition is still ongoing, my sister just submitted the affidavit of support yesterday.

  3. Hello VJ members! My sister will mail her I-864EZ for her husband today. We just want to make sure everything is complete. She has the form completed and attaching her last 3 W-2s. Also she is making a copy of her last 3 bank statements. Is there anything else that she need to include in the package? We appreciate all answers. Thank you and god bless!

  4. What does the wording say under "Post Decision Activity". As "post" means after, it may be that they have sent out the card. Read exactly what the wording says.

    Here it is.

    On October 31, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

  5. Hello! We had our interview on october 25, 2011 and everything went pretty smooth. The immigration officer reviewed all our documents, asked questions like how did we meet, how many times I went to visit my wife, when did we get married. After that he asked for a joint bank account, pictures and a copy of our lease, we provided all he asked for and he said to my wife everything looks good, congratulations then he returned back my wife's EAD card and said you should received your green card within 4 weeks. After 3 days we checked our status in the USCIS website and we saw card/document production. But we checked it again this morning and status is post decision activity. It does say the I485 is approved though. Is there something to worry about here? Why did our case status changed from card/document production to post decision activity? Anyone with similar situation?

  6. Hello VJers!:)

    We are having AOS interview tomorrow in San Diego, and we are wondering what kind of questions they may ask, and what to expect in general.

    I have found this page with some sample questions;

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/exampleq

    and AOS interview tips on this thread;

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/154623-aos-interview-tips-for-those-with-upcoming-interviews/

    Is there any other things we should know prior to the interview?

    Any advise and thoughts are very appreciated!

    One thing I remember from my K-1 visa interview in Japan is that when they asked when we met in person for the first time, since it is over 5 years ago, I said, "um, 2005 or 2006" and the officer said "which one? you need to pick one." with a suspicious face expression.

    I honestly didn't remember the exact day or time. I can't even remember what we ate for lunch two days ago. (haha!)

    Well, my husband and I think that we should just show up there and be ourselves. There's nothing to hide, if we don't know / can't remember, that's us. We are kind of punk rock about that, but it's great to know what you all think and what you suggest us do so that we can at least prepare...

    Thanks everybody!

    Good luck to both of you. Our interview is scheduled next week here in San Diego too. Please do share your interview experience. Again, good luck on you interview.
