Anyone on here getting a biometrics notice AFTER an I-751 was already approved and a green card received? We received our green card 5 months but got a notice ( dated from 5 days ago) asking us to appear for a biometrics in 2 weeks from now. Just curious if anyone has seen this before? And what if we ignore it and don't go since we already have our green card.

I filed the I-751 along with the G-1145 at the Phoenix lockbox. Saw my cheque cashed on June 10th. But I haven't seen any email or text notification with a receipt number. Anyone else here have the same experience as me?

I can tell you that when i presented the documents at the counter, they specifically pointed out that my spouse needs to be present with me. They asked if she was there with me. That's when I pointed to my spouse and they then proceeded forward. The same thing happened as well at the counter where the IO sat. So, what is or is not accurate on what is required is besides the point. Not much you can do other than argue when asked at USCIS> Even then, for something like this, if the person at the counter is stubborn what options DO you have left at that time?

Thank you!! We were told by our lawyer to redo the medical because the new interview date fell past one year after her initial K1 medical was done. Even though we did file the AOS a month after she got her K1, the lawyer was of the opinion that it is the time of the medical test that counts regardless of when the AOS was filed. I can't say who is right. We did it anyway because it wasn't costly and we wanted to be on the safe side just in case.

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share my AOS interview rescheduling experience for anyone out there that may benefit from it.
My wife (who came in on a K1 and was on advanced parole) were one month out from leaving for our honeymoon when we got the our first interview notice. When we opened it up, the date was dead in the middle for when we were going to be out of the country. After spending hours and days reading through people's experiences, we decided to file for postponement. While the USCIS website provided no clear guidelines at all for this procedure, the recommendation I received from the help line was to write a letter to our local field office explaining the situation. Following their advice and based on what I read online, I wrote a simple letter to the field office explaining our situation along with supporting documents (booked flight itineraries with dates clearly highlighted and a copy of the interview notice. i kept the original interview notice). I made copies of everything and then mailed it priority with tracking and a successful delivery return receipt. The next step I took was to wake up around 6AM everyday and keep checking the infoPass website for openings. We managed to snag an appointment one week before our departure. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this step and you will see why below. Most of the experiences I read online said not to worry about it but with DHS getting so much leeway on how they enforce rules and officers having more discretion on rejecting cases, we took all precautions possible.
At that point we just waited. When we didn't hear anything back for 3 weeks, I started to panic. Luckily, we had our appointment already scheduled the for the next week.
We showed up at our appointment time and waited half an hour past before we got called in. Now remember, since this case involves a K1, your spouse MUST be present when any details about your case are discussed.
We explained out situation to the officer who looked up our case on his system and said that he has no record of the field office receiving our letter. He then asked us if we had copies of anything we had sent. Why yes i do!! I showed him all the copies of what I had sent in along with the USPS delivery receipt. He then informed us that since our case file had not arrived from the service center, that is probably why our letter was languishing somewhere in their delivery room. He said the case file typically doesn't arrive until a few days before. So I asked what can we do. He said he will file our postponement request right away in his system and then pass it on to the scheduling department. The best he could do was provide us with a notice that confirms we can in to request postponement along with a list of the documents we provided and the reason why. He then told us not to worry and that since we had come in confirmed our situation and provided all the documentation, that we will be okay. Very very rarely do they deny postponement in a K1-AOS case. If the couple claims they need more time to prepare, then that is the the only situation where they will deny it. We felt a little bit easier but obviously still anxious since we didn't have an approved postponement request. I basically felt like we gambled.... but hey..glorious honeymoon awaits!
Fast forward after our trip, we didn't have any issues coming back in to the country. We both followed up with the field office via another InfoPass appointment and they confirmed that our postponement request was received and approved. They asked us to wait for the next available date. Our original date was for mid-May. We received our next date for mid-August.
Given how stressful the whole experience had been, we showed up at the interview to realize only 10 mins before that we had forgot to pack our medical packet. Anyway, we went in, and before we got started, informed the officer that we forgot to bring it in. She laughed and said no big deal. She will give us 2 options; either mail it in, or go home and drop it off today. I chose the latter. Interview went well with all the standard questions. She said she obviously cannot approve today because of the medical, but if we drop it off today that she will approve by the end of the week. After we got done, we raced home and returned with the medical document and dropped it off at the interview room. I politely requested that they please inform the officer that we had dropped it off. They said they will do so since she was busy with someone else at the moment.
We went on our way being twice as anxious as before the interview. an hour later, I received a text message update regarding an update on our case. When I checked the status online, it said a card production was ordered. Not believing it i called the helpline to confirm but they they claimed they don't see any update on their end. Frustrated to no end my wife and I decided to just let it go for the weekend. By Monday I was more anxious than her. However , we got a nice little surprise in the mail by Monday next week :)

Hope this helps anyone out there who might be looking to postpone their interview for valid reasons!

Thank you for your reply! Our local field office is Santa Ana. We applied at the end of June.
I did actually get the notice in the mail yesterday and it looks correct.

Hello all,
So I got some good news today and saw that the I-485 petition I had submitted for my wife got approved for interview! However, I'm a bit confused because the notice on their case status website says "Employment based interview was scheduled.
This is pretty confusing since I didn't apply for an employment based AOS....?She was coming from a K1. Did anyone else see the same thing...?

Anybody in here that applied to the California Service Center? And in the LA or Orange County region to be specific? Just curious where everybody is on their AOS status. On my end I applied for my wife post K-1 visa and haven't heard anything since mid-august when the notice said waiting to be scheduled for an interview.

Hello everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone here is an applicant in California. If so, would you be okay with providing a status update on your application? I filed for an AOS, work and travel permit for my wife on 6/30 but have not seen any progress on any front. She got her biometrics in august but that is about it. Her case status online simply said " we updated your name " on the 90 day mark but that is about it. I am wondering if anyone else in california is seeing the same thing? Please do let me know!

Hello all,
Do we have a tracker for this thread for all the Nov 2016 filers? I know when I was going through the N-400 process that we maintained a tracker post that got updated by the users as soon as they received their updates. Do we not have one for the K1 2016 filers? It would help to see how everyones' timeline are progressing in relation to each other.
Sorry for jumping in to this one kinda late and asking questions that may already have been answered. I tried to keep up with the original thread but there were so many updates every day it was hard to keep track.

So I know this may seem obvious and perhaps may also have been asked many times before. But I just want to cover all my bases and get input from the experienced community members here.
My fiance is a Citizen of Taiwan.
But, she is currently employed in Beijing, China.
When filling out Question 29 on Part 2 of the I-129F, Do I fill out here current apartment address in Beijing? Or her residential address in Taiwan?
Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

Many many thanks to the people that contributed to this topic! The details were spot on and helped a lot in figuring out what was going on when I went for my oath.
Just as a note, it doesn't matter if you get seated on the left or the right of the stage. You will be seated and leaving in the order you arrived. There will be many ushers who will guide you on where to get seated. Once you have checked in, the ushers will direct you to where the seating area is. From there, another set of ushers will tell you what row to go sit in. After the ceremony is over, the ushers will guide you out in the order you were seated (first in first out) towards the tables where you can pick your certificate up from.

Also, I found this post to be extremely valuable when preparing for the events that would take place at LA Convention center's oath ceremony. If you are scheduled to go this place then definitely read that post! You can also call the convention center ahead of time to find out what hall your ceremony is scheduled at and what the best place to be park would be closest to the scheduled hall.

You can call the customer service and have the representative to escalate your call to a supervisor. They probably will ask you to leave your phone number and call you back in a few minutes. I had the same situation as you, when I explained to the supervisor, he pull up my file and told me my scheduled oath date and time, I am sure you can ask the address as well. BTW, I received my letter 3 days after I got the text/email notification from local USCIS office.
Thank you for the reply Kerrin! I was actually able to get an infopass appt and stop in at the USCIS office on my way to work this morning. They were able to give my date and even provide helpful instructions on parking/timing and heads up on the paperwork at the ceremony. I expect that I will likely receive the letter by the end of this week!

Hello everyone,
I passed my interview on last week at my local USCIS office. The IO was extremely courteous and went through my application fairly quickly. I got recommended for approval. Earlier today I received a notification from USCIS that I have been scheduled for the oath ceremony and my date with all the details has been sent in the mail. Unfortunately the notification didn't specify a date or time. I called the USCIS helpline to get details but they said they don't have that information and that only the local office does. Barring making an infopass appointment or waiting for the mail, does anybody know of another way to find out what my oath date is? I know I should calm down but my loved ones which don't live locally want to be present and they will have to fly in. The more advance notice I can give them the cheaper it will be on them. Any info that you can give would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for all your help!

Anyone on here getting a biometrics notice AFTER an I-751 was already approved and a green card received? We received our green card 5 months but got a notice ( dated from 5 days ago) asking us to appear for a biometrics in 2 weeks from now. Just curious if anyone has seen this before? And what if we ignore it and don't go since we already have our green card.
