  1. i will say, i am in the same situation and from what i understood when speaking with the man on the extortion line is that if you havent first called and been given approval to email this address then they wont read/respond to the email. when you call the line they will register the fact that you've been given permission to email the address than they will respond, but you dont need a special code, you just need prior permission. not sure if its true or only a scam, but just thought you should know.

    good luck

we are heading down next week and are nervous/excited to get this thing behind us.

  2. I had to write one also and was able to search the internet and find the irs law stating why i didnt have to file and quoted that law in the letter.

    example

As per IRS law concerning tax year 2009 persons making less than $xxxx per year are not required to file tax returns with the irs. As i was unemployed and not receiving any income or benefits of any sort, i was not required to file.

My 864 was approved at NVC with this letter , but i did have a co sponsor so perhaps my information was less important, also the 2 years after the non file i had a well paying job so everyones situation is different of course. If you legally did not have to file than you should be fine stating why, it should be enough.

    Good luck

  3. Ya when we got stuck in NVC by them continously sending email requests for DS260 inspite of london not doing electronic processing and inspite of my insistent calling i figured we would be lucky to interview in August and then i suppose just to prove the point they decided we should interview at the end of the month. perhaps it is all the better as maybe the stupid olympics will be over by then and prices will come back down..anyway good luck to you.

  4. Hello,

In my confusing email from NVC yesterday they also said that the marriage certificate i submitted was not an original or certified copy, while this is true, the reason i submitted a photocopy was only because i had submitted the original with the raised gold seal in my I130 package and so they already have the original. Is it normal to have to submit an orignal with the I130 and then have to do so again with IV ds230? Wouldnt they already have it all together in the folder any way? Does any one think that if i call them on monday and what i have already said to you all here that this would clear it up? Even if not i was able to order two more copies on the net today and should have them by the mid to end of next week but i think it is quite silly to have to submit to them more than one original or certified copy, seeing as they have the good one anyway...

    Any advice?

    thanks

  5. Sorry for the long post but....

I got an email from NVC this morning, saying that i needed to submit my ds260 electronically, i have submitted all my paperwork traditionally up to now, and as my wife is English and we will be using the London embassy we had all along thought that London did not do electronic ds260. So we are extrememly confused by this and of course it being the weekend there is no one in NVC to answer any questions til monday. Does any one know of any one else having to file ds260 for london?

The email they sent had three links on it...the only one that sort of might say we need to submit this way is a bit confusing....

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5164.html

on this link we do fall into the first criteria, namely

The petition was approved in the U.S.; and

The application is being processed by the National Visa Center (NVC); and

    The application is:

Family based (Form I-130 petition); or

Employment based (Form I-140 petition); or

For certain special immigrants (Form I-360 petition); or

For an immigrant entrepreneur (Form I-526 petition).

Our petition (I130) was approved, and our application is being processed by NVC, and it is an application for family based visa, but i am not clear if this is also only if you meet these criteria AND you are going through the embassy list that follows it, which as London is not on it, we are not.

Any ideas???? Of course i will call first thing their time monday but this really ruins my weekend.

    Here is the email....

    ______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The Embassy / Consulate where you will be interviewed requires you to submit an electronic DS-260

Immigrant Visa Application to be eligible for a visa interview. If you previously submitted, or were

instructed to submit a physical copy of the Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, form

DS230, the U.S. Embassy/Consulate where your interview will be scheduled no longer accepts this form.

You will find instructions for submitting the required forms and supporting civil documents at

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

Please visit the website www.immigrantvisas.state.gov and select the link "Establish communication

with the NVC and register an address or agent" to complete your online DS-260 form. Click on the name

of the U.S. Embassy/Consulate where your interview will be scheduled and follow the instructions.

To avoid delaying your visa(s) we urge you to send the required supporting civil documents, for all

applicants, together in a single submission as soon as possible after submitting the DS-260.

Your case may be involved with paperless processes for submitting forms and documents. At this time,

the availability of paperless processing is limited to selected U.S. Embassies and Consulates. A list of

participating Embassies and Consulates can be found at:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5165.html

On none of these links does the London embassy appear. And when i log into the CEAC website portal, (where i am directed to at one point, (where we pay our IV and AOS bills), the link for IVAPP which after much searching is where one who would file electronically if you are required to do so, is a blank grey, it is not a link it is dead, which it says it will be if you havent paid yet, (mine shows paid) or if you dont file electronically.

Please does any one have any idea? Has any one heard of any one else receiving a wrong email? I would have thought surely they computer system is linked up enough to realize that just by my NVC number which begins with "LND...." it wouldnt allow it to send this email if it was true that i needed to do a DS260, but i have also never heard of any one interviewing in London needing a DS260. I am so confused here....

    Any help??

    thanks

    Zac and Sian

  7. Greetings all

We filed I130 and were approved and i submitted all and paid all to NVC but now i am unsure what to do. How do i proceed from here? Does NVC contact me and tell me what to do next after they review all my paperwork? They received the last of my paperwork on May 31 and i have not heard anything since, will they have reviewed it by now to see if they need to send me an RFE or does this take longer? If they reviewed it will they let me know what to do next or do i need to be proactive on this? Thanks for your help...really hoping for an interview at the embassy in july at the latest but will have to see.

    Thanks again

  8. I guess i don't understand how this is even an issue? because some 3000$ lawyer told you so to save their-selves copying it? I don't see how it can hurt to send in all pages, especially as others have said, to prove visits to each others countries and what not. There is a very well known poster on here whose tag line is "follow the directions....really" or something very much similar to this. if it doesn't say on the directions pages that it only needs a biographic page copy specifically then i would not jump the gun and think this is the cause. VJ is priceless, and surely less then a 3000$ lawyer, it isn't perfect, but the knowledge available here is definitely worth more than any lawyer ever could be for a straight forward case.

  9. Greetings all...if i am having my older sister help co sponsor my wife to come over, will i need only her tax transcripts for the last three year and proof of employment and pay stubs, and NOT need any of my own information, or will i also need some of my own information...

I myself make well over the poverty threshold for 2010 and 2011, but i didnt work at all in 2009, by choice, and will stop working next month to be with my wife overseas while we are processed, (and to avoid another miserable winter!!) so will not have a job when it comes time to prove my income and my ability to sponsor, though i do have a position available for me when i again choose to return. So i am under the impression that because i am choosing to use my much more stably employed sister to sponsor my wife, that i wont need to show my own information. Am i wrong in this respect?

Thanks for you help as always...

  10. Greetings,

Just trying to think positive here and have some forethought and so i decided to at least type up our DS3032 so when the time comes we can email it with easy. My question was that as far as emailing goes do we need to put the barcode into the email or can we just send it as per the example on

    www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

and if we do need the barcode, how do we insert it into the email once it gets generated?

Thanks for your help as always. I cant wait to one day be able to help others but at this point there is still a large learning curve in front of us. You people are priceless.

    Zac and Sian
