If he were to kick her out of the country and divorce, he would be off the hook for any spousal support obligations, right?
-
Did he have an interview in UK? Medicals done?
-
How about flying over to Singapore? They have the best airport in the world, Changi Airport. You don't even have to leave it. They have hotels, pools, movie theater, etc on the grounds and everyone speaks English. Spend a day or two there and fly direct back.
-
Nope, 3 months working is probably not going to do. You contributed $40 maybe, thats if they didn't set you up as a independent contractor. Then you would have paid no taxes.
-
How long have you been working? Don't you have to pay into the system first before you can receive benefits?

Find the clinics for "undocumented immigrants" aka illegals in your area. You'll get free to low cost treatment. I went through one while in HS on a tour. You don't have to be an illegal or from Latin/S.America to go there. Look in the local Spanish language newspaper or county/city website.
Where do you think all the illegals go to when they have health probs?
Or look for places like this:

Why don't you go and get the marriage license?

This is what you do to line cutters and rude people

Too bad I don't speak Russian. I would move there and open up shop as a private investigator for K1 folks
You said you were taking a new job so attending the interview is probably out of the question.
I'm sure her story was believable. I hope she wasn't just feeding you with what you wanted to hear. Care to fill us in on the details?

Looks like I’m a minority in here. Never sent or was needed to send any cash. She has a comparable salary over there to mine. I’m sure she would gladly accept any money if I ever offered. Not happening though
This year alone, she had two flat tires and a road collision. She went over to Rome and Milan for summer vacation. She handled the flats on her own by limping to a service station and argued back and forth with the guy who ran into her car until the police showed up 2 hours later. She got the Italy visas for herself/friend at the embassy after a little trouble. But she did succeed.
They are not all dumb bunnies over there. A lot of it is acting I’m thinking

She DID NOT go to the interview. Not sure why just yet, but she didn't.
Where is this other person who was scammed like this? Is there a post for him/her? I just want to see if there are any similarities here.

Pretty much at the same step of the process

How good is her English?
How often do you communicate and by what methods? Was there a reason why you weren't calling her on this trip?
I talk to my girl every weekday during her morning drive to work in the city center at the same time and sometimes on the weekends. I use a skype package to ring her mobile ($13/400min package (x2)) or skype to send SMS messages, 6 cents a message. I’ve talked to her while she was away on business trips by calling the hotels she was staying at. She is never vague about anything and I always have her flight info, schd, etc.
There is 3G cell service everywhere in Moscow as I talk to her while she zips around town. My girl has 2 mobiles, work/personal. She even has skype on her smart phone and we always chat back and forth when she is out and about....
Why was there no communication?

He said he had been agonizing for the past 3 weeks over this already. Finally came online to rant...He not only wasted a lot of time but a lot of money I'm sure. She's only been here for a handful of weeks and the family back home is already planning out how they will spend his money
Since she was already on xoom trying to send money, that means she must have your credit card info. I think sites like that also needs your SSI number. I would buy some credit monitoring service and change the card. The family back home is probably going to be a little bit pissed there dreams are not going to pan out.

What type of surgery? Why can't you add him to your insurance just yet? Aren't there county hospitals for people with no insurance?
Call 211. They can point you in the right direction. You can dial 211 from most all places in USA for cases like this.

I hope you got someone there with you to help you get through the night. I'd hate to be in your shoes right now
Mom or pops? A show of solidarity and force is always good also. They would help knock some sense into if you tried to weasel out before the flight.

Yeah, good job!
I'd even go as far as getting out of the house tonight! Pack her things and put her up in a motel for the night in her name. She might go ape sheet and cut up some furniture or something. $50 for the night is better than having to replace couches, car paint, etc. I've seen the aftermath of a messy breakup. But you can always remind her that you will file police reports if anything happens, she will be denied entry if she tries anything.

Now for sending her family money I read the email, her bro in law want to open a business of his own, a gym. Her sister wants to open a restaurant, her uncle is asking for money so he can finish off the flooring at his house. Her elder brother wants to enroll his kids in private school, her younger sister got sick and went straight to a high end private hospital. I read just a incoming text message that her mom is TULALA AT THE WALL BECAUSE SHE IS OUT OF COFFEE.
I TRIED TO CLARIFY ABOUT THE MONEY SITUATION. HER BELIEF IN MONEY IS WHAT I EARN BELONGS TO THE BOTH OF US WHAT SHE EARNS ONLY BELONGS TO HER. IT'S ONE SIDED.
WHEN I TRY TO TALK IT OVER SHE WOULD SAY SHE DOES NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT. I EVEN OVERHEARD HER ON THE PHONE SAY "YAN PESTENG KANO NA YAN"
Sounds like the family thinks they won the lotto with marrying her off to an American. Everyone wants a hand in your cookie jar
$681 is all that it would cost to make your troubles go away. 1 way flight back to PI from LAS.

Ouch $900 and still wanting to send home money?
I guess offer her a plane trip home to visit her family and then leave her.
-
I would start with the process now.
-
See if they will do it on a Tuesday during regular morning mass or after it.

Why would you want to give the kid citizenship to Russia?
-
Maybe your kid's father called the INS?

After reading this thread, as for me, I would send back this "automatic notification letter" to the Embassy and ask for English version with all her personal info ( birthdate, address, the full name, number of her international passport and case number ) and asked if an interview was held with your fiancee or not , if she was in the interview at all, on October 7th, 2010.
I have doubt she was in the interview at all. And this letter looks like a professional scammer letter for everybody. But it's just my opinion.
Nadiya.
That is assuming she used her real name and address....

Ouch, too bad about getting scammed.
Send her a broken laptop with listing value of $1,000. When she goes to pick it up, she'll have to pay a little tax. Then tell her a replacement is on the way and send her an empty box with another listed $1,000 value saying its the replacement.
What steps to take? Suggestions?
