  1. Getting re-married after your divorce will throw up further red flags. I am also filing with a waiver, and yes it affects your petition in the sense, that you have to be prepared to give extra evidence of financial and co mingling evidence and also i included a note in regards to why we are getting divorced. I have every hope that my petition will be OK in the fact that I did come here in good faith and I have the documents to back that up. However, getting re -married? I do not know how that will effect in a good way?

  2. Once they receive the application, you are fine. Keep the proof of delivery safely. May be all of you (VSC applicants) are getting transferred to CSC. Did any of you called USCIS and inquired!

Since CSC is faster, you guys may get your approvals before us. How about that to give you all something to cheer about.

I love the optimism, however, I did call and again was met with someone totally useless but did advise 30 day wait of receipt notice...only problem is I will be out of status at that point ;(

  3. Mailed mine to VSC on Aug. 21st, tracking shows it was received Aug. 26th. Still no receipt or cheque cashed...

Got a bit complicated as we moved the week before filing, but we put in copies of our 2years lease, & a copy of the purchase contract for our new home, with a note of new address & then filed a change of address.

Pregnancy hormones have made me extra anxious! ClockWatch2.gif GC expires 9/20

Wow must be something going on with August 26th received dates as that day was mine also! My card also expires 9/23 and I am getting very concerned here.

  4. Good Morning Guys.

I am getting really anxious, I sent off my package in August, delivered & signed for on the 26th August. I do not have any NOA1 yet or my check has not been cashed.....have they lost it???

I am filing at Vermont - I see people who sent stuff after me have already got NOA1.

I am filing with a waiver so my 90 period is up in a few weeks, I didnt send it earlier because I was waiting on my final divorce papers to go through before sending entire ROC package.. what happens if they have lost it and It goes past my cut off date????????????

  6. Hi All,

Can someone outline any personal experiences with filinf ROC with divorce? I have seperated from my husband and by the time I file ROC (June -Sept its due) I will have my divorce decree.

I have evidence of good faith but I am getting really anxious about my situation and where it will leave me in terms of being able to stay here in the US.

  7. Good afternoon all.

Just a quick question. I am in the midst of gathering evidence for our ROC. I have plenty of evidence to suggest a good bonafide relationship ( which of course it is) but currently we are going through troubling issues and looking into sepeartion. Now I know that leaves me in a tricky spot for ROC and I will of course not lie to USCIS and if needed will file with the waiver of pending divorce ( get the RFE until decree comes through I guess).

Now I know with divorce waiver they look more closely. I am wandering if I should get a letter from my therapist now turned marriage therapist? I have been seeing here since being married to help with alot of depression and helping me adjust to life here in the States. We are seeing her for marriage therapy also but are both fully aware its not always the answer. So to help with my waiver, should I maybe include a letter from her about going to marriage therapy? Surely it helps prove that if you were just in it to avoid laws, this would be a mark in my favour?

Can someone please offer some advice.

    Thanks

  8. No its not unusual I would think, especially if both partners work and earn similar salaries. The reason we did it was mainly to keep our sanities...i dont want to have to be worried if he wants to spend a stupid amount of money on cars or whatever it is he spends it on and he doesnt want to have to be concerned how much I spend on getting my hair done!!! Despite being married, you are still enititled to your own money :)
