Agree, If there are precautions we can take to avoid the chaos at NVC we should, there is no guarantee either way that they will definitely disregard your documents if case number is not written on it, but hey if they loose a paper out of the big pile of papers somehow it can get joined. Saylin's wiki and the other wikis suggest the same as well, and Saylin put emphasis on it for a good reason. I did the same thing as 1stLoveRedo, I was lazy to write on 150 pages so i printed labels as well and stuck them while i was half asleep .... whats that old saying.... prevention is better than cure.... prevention is better than getting stuck at NVC and listening to agents script to our questions....

Saylin reacted to KierenHby in need advice on NVC stage, is W2 sufficient or must i have tax transcript??
Unless you send the complete tax return.. everything.. you might be better off waiting for the transcript, which might arrive before 3 weeks. NVC prefers the official transcript, since tax returns risk RFEs if you mistakenly skip something in the AOS package.
    EITHER... Transcript;
    OR......Complete Tax Return (1040+w2s, +1099s+ Schedules)

this thread is for people with already approved I-130s at the nvc stage so people might not be of much help while your waiting . But yes most spouses/parents end up in Nebraska, here's their thread it will be of more help then this one as we all are out of the black whole that is the service centers we were stuck at . http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/482672-all-nebraska-i-130-filers/page-85

NVC is one of many agencies that falls under the jurisdiction of the Department of State. US Consulates and Embassies are also under the jurisdiction of DoS.

In order for your IV fee to be unlocked, your DS-261 must be reviewed. It takes 30 days to review it, OR you can call and have a rep review it over the phone with you. Not all reps will do this, so sometimes you'll need to call back.
A few days after your DS-261 is reviewed, your IV fee should be unlocked. However, lately there have been a lot of technical issues, and for many people the fee is not appearing.
After your IV fee is PAID, you'll be able to complete your DS-260.

Everyone, please make your way on over there. This isn't like the I-130 filer threads where you stay in the same thread the entire process. Each month, we all move to the current month, now being June. Within a day, Ryan will come along and close this thread from further comments, so head on over now

Also if the Canadian is not a multi-generational Canadian that can increase the time frame as well as permanent residents in Canada vs Canadian citizens. They treat you like you're from that other country vs Canadian because of the fact people will move to Canada then try to get into the USA, thinking it will be easier to get into the USA.

Priya - does it say that the document will need to be brought to your interview?? I've seen that happen a few times.... someone gets a checklist after their CC but the wording is a little different....
    Keeping fingers crossed for you!!
Their system has been really wonky lately...... there's the obvious - double check the info you're trying to enter (yeah I know....).... You're going to want/need access to that system so I'd suggest calling them to confirm your case number and IIN are correct.... could also be that if they were assigned to you recently, the nvc system isn't up-to-date and ready to accept them...... but I'd probably vote for calling.....
    Good luck!!

On her i864 she will check a box that says she is unemployed and place the date since she has been unemployed, her current annual income will be 0.00 since you said she is still unemployed. So since you stated she has never filed taxes for each year when it asks for the income for that year - 2012,2013,2014 she will put 0.00 . You MUST have her hand write and sign and date a letter saying dear whoever I did not file taxes for these years and list them because I was unemployed and overseas with no job blah blah blah . Simple as that I had to do the same thing .
Make sure your co sponsor has the other supporting documents such as proof of us status . Proof of income such as pay stubs and letter of employment and such to help out so there's no chance of them giving you some stupid checklist .

Click Portals next to forums on the top, that should bring you to your australian info page. You should be able to read topics and then also read reviews of consulates there. If I click mine, I get Sweden, so not much help there.

Saylin got a reaction from caronadlar in Montreal Consulate Pictures/Maps
    Hi everyone!

So, back when I was waiting for my interview, I was looking around here for pictures of the consulate, specifically a drawing of the inside, so I would know what to expect. Well, all I found was this old thread with pictures of the outside (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/103460-montreal-united-states-embassy/ ). Then, last April (2011), when I went to pick up my medical results at Medisys, I decided to stop by the consulate to see it for myself as well as take a few pictures on my smartphone (blog post with pictures here: http://journeythroughimmigration.blogspot.com/2011/04/us-consulate-in-montreal.html )

Recently, a VJ member has been messaging me about where to line up exactly outside for the interview. So, I decided it was time to get out Paint ( ) and have some fun. I took three pictures and put in some markings of exactly where to stand for the line outside the consulate. I then hand-drew some pictures of the INSIDE of the consulate. That blog post can be found here: http://journeythroughimmigration.blogspot.com/2012/03/consulate-maps.html

And for those of you that are lazy () and don't want to click the last link, I'll post the maps/drawings here:

The main street (running ~ north/south) is Rene Levesque. They have doors on that side, but those aren't the ones you want. On Saint Alexandre (running ~ west/east) are the doors where you want to line up. The 1 is where the first person would be, 2 where the second person would be, 3 where the third person would be, etc. So, when facing the doors, the line extends to the left.

A closer view of the consulate. Again, 1 is where the first person is, 2 where the second person, etc etc.

Front view. Numbers again are for the line, leading off to the left. Stand as close as possible to 1 and the doors.

This is the first part of the consulate, entering through the doors at 1. You then move through a security checkpoint and through a scanner, at 2. You're then directed down a long staircase, at 3. You arrive in a large room, at 4, with a telephone, picture booth, and lots of chairs surrounding the elevator. At 5 is the elevator. When you enter, stand at the far left corner, marked by the X.

View of top floor where the documents are handed in and interview takes place. You enter by the elevator at 1. The secretary is there to greet you and show you where to line up (follow red arrows). At 2, you'll one by one go up to a window where you get a number (C1 means you're first). EDIT 4/27/15: I have just heard that you don't go to spot 2 anymore. You get your number right at the secretary's desk when you get off the elevator. You then sit down in one of the chairs. At 3, you hand in all documents (AOS package, certificates, medical results, etc). You also get your fingerprints done here. After sitting back down, you'll then be called to one of the interview rooms at 4. Once all finished, you leave back through the elevator and out the consulate.

P.S. I was going to include ALL the pictures (including the ones I found and took) in this one post, but apparently there's a maximum of 5 photos per post So, if you want to see the others, you'll have to click on the above links

Anyways, that's all folks! Hope this post (specifically the hand-drawn pictures) helps those going to have interviews in Montreal.

Yes, they will review it on their own without your intervention. The wait is about 30 days after you submit your DS-261. When people call to get it reviewed it's because they're trying to speed up the process, but you don't need to call at all if you're willing to wait a bit longer.

This is normal. The email's processing times haven't been updated, and I received the same email last week. The processing time is still down to between 22-30 days (and sometimes even less!)
On mobile - if anything's wonky you have my apologies.
