In his defense, I don't think he's thinking along the lines of breed. There are obvious cultural differences in the world, and I think all James is saying is that there are sometimes less desirable characteristics in a certain cultures as opposed to other ones, for him. It's merely an observation of what he desired in a wife as opposed to what his own own culture was offering. I have a hard time believing that anyone who i married to a foreign spouse hasn't noticed at least one cultural aspect of their mate that they don't see in their own culture.

You sound just like my Fiancee actually. I'm actually rather surprised by some of the stuff guys share on VJ. If Mila saw me write ANYTHING about our personal life that involved her, I would be dead. For her, her private life belongs to her, and if she wants it shared she will do it herself. And I respect her enough to follow her wishes.
I'm also probably a very rare animal in RUB, cause I was completely content to live a normal American life with an American girl, but was set up by a friend from school (I went to a Russian Orthodox Seminary for 4 years, and still work there now) with the most wonderful girl I've ever met. I've never had a problem with American girls, this one just happened to come along and be the right one for me.
I guess I'm really just writing this to try and show that not all RUBers are the same. We don't all parade our wives around in high heels (Mila doesn't seem to wear them much) and talk about how we make them dance around naked for us. But then again, I don't really believe that the guys that say that really have wives that would do it for them either. I think it's said mostly in jest to rile people up.

You are right to the extent that generalizations lose their relevance when an individual is concerned. But there are certainly some general cultural differences around the world, maybe less so between the US and UK, but even there some small differences must exist. You need to get out more!!

I've almost read the whole thread, but I can't take it anymore, it makes me sick... Being a Russian girl, I have something to say.
Yes, there are some cultural differences, so clearly Russian and American women are different, but I don't think that American men have a right to insult American women. I don't see the point. So, you've found somebody you love, somebody you care about and this person cares about you, but why on earth you have to critisize anybody else?
In fact, some Russian women have the same problem - they start dating foreigners and start saying that there are no decent men in Russia. The funniest thing is that when they break up with their foreign BFs they start being all like "Russian men are the best" It's just so FAKE. So I would never trust a man, who would be saying that there is something wrong with all American women. I'm glad my fiance is not like that, plus in would be like insulting not only some random women, but also his sisters and mom (who are all great and btw I saw them wearing heels if that's so important). And I'm also glad that he is with me for the reasons other than "not being a native english-speaker".
Another thing. The thought that all FSU women wear high heels and mini skirts all the time is a myth (sorry, guys). Well maybe there are some girls, who do that, but definitely not the smartest ones (no offence). Wearing a mini skirt in winter when it's freezing cold is not hot or classy, it's stupid. So is wearing high heels every single day when there are piles of snow and ice on the pavement. So is wearing heels to the beach, with all that sand. There are a lot more examples, but I think you got my point?
One more thing. Bragging how your wife cooks for you or does anything else wearing almost nothing is disgusting. I mean, c'mon, guys, don't you think it's something too personal to share with all those people on VJ you don't even know?

Why Me is right about one thing, though. It is always nice to watch a hot naked woman.
Of course, if the hot naked woman in question cooked me gruel I'd happily watch her do so but after she was done I'd call the local pizza place and get a pie delivered.

American women typically DO totally dominate. Pro choice as long as you do what THEY say and want.
Being naked is not disrespectful. If i talked about her cooking (something we do in our own house) that would be Ok, but if she is naked it is pathetic? I assure you it is not

Not much of a point though seeing as how we're not talking theories and politics, people are really dying, and people really need help. I don't see the wrongness of us giving help to people. US citizens aren't worth more as people than non-US citizens. Whether or not other countries are "not bothering" is unrelated in my opinion.
Do I hate waiting? Seeing as I'm over 5 1/2 months right now, hell yeah I hate it. But I'm also proud of my country for caring for Haitian people as well. I think the real solution is having more funding for the service centers to hire more adjudicators. The federal government already wastes billions of dollars on useless grants and studies, why can't they actually put some tax money to good use. That way, we can all get processed in a reasonable amount of time without having things like TPS visas getting in the way.

Nikolaib got a reaction from Inky in Called about my case today
So I called the 800 number today. I called about a week ago and just got the person reading a script, the date they gave for what they are working on? July 24th. The woman today was a little less like a robot which was nice, but she said something that I found very surprising. "since the estimated times to process petitions is an estimate, the case may or may not be adjudicated within that time, and at any time, if the priorities of the service center need to be focused in a different area, that can delay the processing of other cases." then she told me they were processing petitions from July 24th.
So basically, I got someone who told me that they will shift focus to different types of petitions if they feel the need. So that should be confirmation for all of you that they did shelve our petitions to work on those Haitian visas. Oh well, I'm glad those people were able to get out of the crappy situation they were in, I'll wait to keep people from dying.
