Still waiting nothing has changed on the website still says I am up for interview in Aug which I passed but no sign of an update that I was approved & no sign of an Oath Ceremony, how long should I wait?
The IO that interviewed me had told me it would be 30 days max before I received the letter. It all has to do with any post interview decision on their side, and also being able to schedule you for the Oath. This will vary by field office. Perhaps request assistance from a Tier 2 officer (via phone) if your status is the same after 30 days would be the way to go. Good luck

Hey guys. I wasnt logging on for a while, bit busy with work, children etc. Quick update. I had my citizenship interview today 9/16/13. I passed and also was able to attend the oath ceremony the same day. Good luck everyone!

I'm 35 years old, and have a naturalization interview soon, I did not register for selective service since im over 26 years old, Do I still to register just in case or what? Please any body with experience in this or who is in my age to advise ASAP.
If you were a legal immigrant, or you were going through the process of becoming one when you were between the ages of 18 and 26, you would have needed to register.
For example, the requirement did not apply to me, because at age 18-26 I did not have an immigrant status. I obtained residency at age 30, and I will interview for Naturalization as well... next month, 3 years later.
Unless the one of the conditions above are met for you, I would think you are ok.

Hello Everyone, Happy Monday
So i have a few questions. My Biometric was done on 5/28 in Chicago and since then there is no further progress on my case.
1- When i can expect to receive my interview letter, any idea like when i will have my interview ?
2- Where will i need to go for my interview? Alone or with my hubby?

You will eventually be notified that you are in line to be scheduled for interview, and then you'll receive your interview letter. Please keep in mind that the timeframe will vary by Field Office, and when you throw things into the mix like your 3 year anniversary as a LPR the interview scheduling can be held for a bit.
In my case, I know that even if I were to have my interview today, I wouldn't be able to take the Oath until 8/16/2013. USCIS factors this when scheduling for interviews and Oath ceremonies.
About question 2, spouses tend to go with applicants for moral support, because the interview is just between you and the IO. I did read at some point that the interviewer asked an applicant if their spouse was there, but in reality you can go on your own.

We mailed to Texas & I am not sure where our field office is? How would I find this information we are in Virginia? We do Biometrics & all other interviews have been in Falls Church?

She may be eligible to apply for naturalization if:
During the last five years, she has not been out of the United States for 30 months or more. If she has been out of the country for 30 months or more, she may still apply given she is:
(a) A person who has served on board a vessel operated by or registered in the United States, or
(b) An employee or an individual under contract to the U.S. Government, or
© A person who performs ministerial or priestly functions for a religious denomination or an interdenominational organization with a valid presence in the United States.AND
During the last five years she has not taken a trip out of the United States that lasted one year or more.
As you can tell, the important timeline is that of the last 5 years, not the date she is eligible to apply for the benefit.

* Go to the MOST RECENTLY POSTED VERSION of this list (go to the last post and scroll DOWN). Select "QUOTE" at the bottom right of your screen
* Make sure that your VJ Text Editor setting is set to Rich Text Editor. This permits you to delete the previous poster's "quote tags" in your reply. Just got text and email notifying that they sent my bio appointment letter today... Hopefully I will be able to do early biometrics on 06/12 (if the original appointment is after that date), because getting off work is pretty hectic.

I am sorry to hear about your in-laws most likely missing the Ceremony. 3 months, eh? Do you live in a relatively small town? I ask because I live in a large metro area, so there's likely more people being processed, resulting in Ceremonies being held more frequently. The only thing I can make of it is that if it's taking 3 months in between Ceremonies in your area, you are probably next in line. Adding to this, is that you would most likely get the notice closer to the interview date rather than 2-3 months prior. But, you never know, USCIS works in mysterious ways.
Either way, stay positive. Your time will come!
PS - The online status doesn't (or didn't, in my experience) move until you are scheduled for the Oath.
