  1. as CR1 petition we've done paying AOS and IV bill is there any fees that we have to pay here other than medical?

  2. My Fiancee did her medical 9 days before the interview and the medical report was there for her interview. I have read of others where their medical was closer to the interview date and St. Lukes had them hand carry the medical records to the embassy.

    Yes , sometimes they do let you hand carry it depending upon the moods of the powers that be. May be flirting with getting a 221 slip for not having the medical records if say, St. Luke's is slow in processing with 4 days out from the interview. Why leave it to chance? Sooner the better, especially if you have to be slowed by the sputum culture, you'll be waiting till right before your interview just to find out you have 2 more months. Caveat Emptor of free advice.

  3. It depends..........allow a couple weeks for the embassy to receive your medical as a rule of thumb.

    Really, your visa will only last as long as your medical, but you can take the second medical and your visa will last as long as 6 months then, which is the maximum time for a IR1 visa. I'm not too sure if it's the same for a K-1 visa. I'd assume so but you know what they say about assuming........

  4. hi sis!...If i'm not mistaken,the Immigrant data summary for US bound your asking is the one

    when you received that brown envelope from US embassy along with your passport and visa on it.i remember my friend told me before when she went to CFO..they attached it to the brown envelope that say's "Do not open"...hope this will help. Goodluck!

    :thumbs: :thumbs: My wife just went through this and it is the sheet attached to the envelope. You'll need the original and a copy of it.

    Best of luck to you on your journey!!

  5. CFO requirements for spouses and family members

    Requirements for Registration

    Original and photocopy of Passport;

    Original and photocopy of visa;

    Original and photocopy of Immigrant Data Summary for US bound/ Confirmation of Permanent Residence for Canada bound/ Certification of Eligibility (for Japan-bound);

    Original CFO guidance and counseling certificate;

    Duly completed emigrant registration form; and

    Payment of the authorized registration fee.

    This comes directly from the CFO sight for spouses. NBI isn't mentioned as a "have to" for registration.

  7. I'd get it done as soon as possible. If you do get the sputum test/culture , you don't waste 2-3 weeks waiting for your interview date that doesn't come due to the 2 month wait for the sputum culture. Just me though since we got popped twice with the sputum test due to scarring on my wife's lung. Best of luck to you!

    Can My fiancee schedule and get her medical done as soon as we have our MNL number from the NVC? The case was sent to Manila yesterday.

    Yes, as soon as you have your mnl number you can get your medical.

  8. Hello everyone... I hope to find some enlightenment to clear my doubts why it happened.

    Hubby & I got married on 18 April 2010 in Philippines. Hubby applied our 1st CR-1 on Aug. 2010. By December, we got the result. Denied.... They said his birth certificate was fake. Though he was born and raised in NJ, USA. So we applied again after a few months. We decided to apply CR-1 visa again by Feb. 2011. End of Sep. 2011, my husband received a phone call saying that my interview will take place in a month or two. Just got upset coz 2011 ends without receiving any phone call. My husband received a phone call 1st week of March 2012 (gosh, it took a year to find out the result) saying that our CR-1 visa was denied again coz we are married less than 2 years.

    And now we are planning to hire an immigration lawyer to process my papers. Just to make sure that everything will be handled accordingly.

    Seeking for an advice for any VJ'ers who had experienced the same OR any opinion with our case why it was denied is highly appreciated. And any idea how much it will cost to take a lawyer?

    Something doesn't seem right here.......is he or has he asked for funds for processing the paperwork? I'm hoping he is legit. Sorry for asking such a question but there are scammers.
