I think there will be a serious snag if she tries to adopt her daughter back from her parents and then the husband petitions her..... I think that the husband is also required to have legal and physical custody for two years.......that may be frowned upon as fraud to get immigration benefits. You will need to check with a competent lawyer on this matter. Don't give up till you have to but don't get over joyed till it happens. Best of luck

Sorry but fiance visa's don't count , only those that are married and get an immigrant visa qualify for the 1st time immigrant discounts.

Might want to try flying out of Manila. There's better selection there. Also might want to check into a trusted travel agency and inquire about 1st time immigrant fares for your wife. Very reasonable if you have the patience to do it. Very easy if you have your visa already, and they could book both of you on the flights. St. Raphael travel agency is one that we used and I highly recommend. I've heard there's another good agency in Cebu but I forget the name. Best of luck!!

Yes , you can get one "extension" where you can call using your cell phone. You can get additional extensions for other cell phones for $4.99/month. Wife uses this and we have the home line also. She just got all her friends to get a globe sim card and now they can chat whenever.

I totally agree on the quality to Globe numbers for free. The plan is awesome and my wife has logged 1200 minutes to date this month.........whew.........anyway, it's well worth it and feel free to list me as a referral since the both parties can get free service for a month or two......every little bit helps!! I was told to call August 29th for the result of the culture but hubby called up a week earlier so I got the result and went back to st. Luke's for the shots the day I was supposed to call them:). They scheduled my interview the same day and the earliest I got was Sept. 14.

We were advised to call back something like on a Thursday of the week. I was impatient and called on the Monday (they were busy but I got thru) and they said to show up on the original call in day to finish the exam and vaccinations. So it does save you some time but it won't be official till the two months are up. They'll know a week or so prior to that date if you are clear since nothing will be growing in the dish. Talked to both of them, but ended up working with St. Raphael's. This one I can speak for as being legit and we got the deal on 1st time immigrant as advertised. They worked with us as our process getting through the sputum and waiver issues caused delays, the St. Raph was as flexible as possible and took out much stress from the process. Hawaiian airlines also has a 1 1/2 hour layover in Hawaii on it's way to Manila from SFO or Sacramento. PAL , like previous posters said, has 1 stop scheduled but rarely does it stop in Guam for the SFO - MNL flight.

Complicated subject. And heart breaking for us. If the child is her offspring, then you can petition both I believe with a I 130 when you marry. Then they have 6 months to use their visas to go to the US. BUT, if you adopt, you MUST HAVE 2 YEARS LEGAL custody outside of the US of the child PRIOR TO 18 yrs old and the adoption completed by then also before you can petition as your own child. It's really messed up how they jerk these children around with unrealistic rules.

Tried to adopt my wife's niece and bring her since the wife had raised the girl since age 5 to 15. But since she didn't attempt adopting the girl til after we married, we learned she doesn't have any immigration rights or wouldn't be eligible unless I moved to the Phils and adopted, then after 2 years we could petition, but only if she was less than 16 then. We're still sending her to college and getting her an education, but had hoped to bring her her as part of our immediate family. INTER COUNTRY ADOPTION BOARD You can adopt, but in some cases it won't give the child full immigration rights!!

Got a 1st time immigrant for the wife and it was $650 ish one way from Manila to San Fran. They're real for 1st time immigrants , you just have to provide the requirements of a stamped visa in passport and go when there's an opening/ticket available. Might want to try Hawaiian Airlines during the holidays, they seem to be forgotten in the mix and the tickets aren't cheap, but not too crazy either. Sorry I'm so late in putting in my 2 cents, been away a bit.
