  1. yea, this is the folder I keep papers now. I use seperate pages, keep originals up front for example of marriage certificate, birth certificate and then keep copies in the back.

Ohhh my EAD from got touched yesterday, but no 2nd email. I am hoping 2 get the EAD in like a week and go get a SS number. Hope the SS office wont take 2 wks 2 send me a number.

When my friend went to change her name she got her new card in like 3-4 days but maybe for a new one might take longer.

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

btw im exahuasted there is a heatwave in NYC!! 100 F! but the accuweather says it feel liks 110F ! OMG! smileyvault-cute-big-smiley-static-031.gif

  2. LOL yea u are very organized! :)

But thats good, less stress and u know u have everything :)

Yea I also plan to get a folder for all the forms i already submitted

and also a big folder with clear through pockets that i can flip thgouht like a photo album kinda thing but a folder, and have all the stuff there easy to see so i can just flip through and pull out the evidence or papers I need fast and easily. Yea having it organized makes it less stressful than looking through a big stack of papers

    Good Luck!! :) :)

    smileyvault-cute-big-smiley-animated-018.gif Thx Everyone!! :)

Thx Alla!! Im am soooo happpy!!! They really got things rolling! OMG i just remembered I had a dream I was in some sort of court and I was looking through the evidence and organizing it. freaky lol

lol yea Alla the fireworks are great, they get better each year here in NYC, they are sponsored by Macy's and they promise better ones each year. We were at a bbq and then went to the roof to see the fireworks for a little bit. It been a friggin heatwave here though! high 95-98 F can u believe it? argh

also Alla u said u went straight from the SS office to the DMV? so they issued u a number on the spot? and did u bring ur DL from ur country or did u apply for a new one?

  4. Krys and Nova

thx Hun !YEA kinda a pain 2 get to garden city, ur lucky u have the federal building.

We should, u seem very cool lol

Its sounds funny that Canadian is considered an immigrant, since its just across the border huh? maybe cuz not as much people want to come here form there, cuz guess mexico is right across the border and from there ALOT of ppl want to get in.

    LOL OK anyway...

u have an interview one week earlier, so getting any stuff ready already?

    dr_no3man

I completely agree, Germany is wining because of their hard work, great strategy and good play time, so a team like that defiantly deserves to win. Teams like Brazil and Argentina England were getting a little cocky and full of themselves, Maradona the Argentina coach actually refused to a press conference after he lost a friendly germany-argentina game a few months ago because a young german player was on the podium, he said he wont be on the same podium with a ball boy.... well that ball boy just beat his team in the world cup!! so HA! I am glad someone finally brought them down a notch with a great game! I cant wait to see the next games!!

    besaangel :

GERMANY DOES NOT SUCK LOL! they work hard!!!! I hope they WIN! :D Go Germany!! smileyvault-cute-big-smiley-animated-028.gif

oohhh and I tried googling it and apparently on the letter u got, it says somewhere u have to carry it with you?smileyvault-cute-big-smiley-animated-033.gif

which seems kidna stupid 2 me... i mean for someone who doesnt live like really close to the border, why would u have to carry such an imporant document? Its like carrying ur passport with u everyday? wat the heck :bonk:

  5. I just posted this in the wrong place, so I'm posting it again.

Just got back from the beach trip.

We had our interview on Wednesday. It was scheduled for 10:30, but we arrived about 9:30. We had to travel a little over an hour and didn't want to take any chances we'd be late. By the time we got there, we both needed to use the bathroom. The only way to go to the bathroom is to go through security at USCIS, so we thought we'd give it a try to go in early. No problem.

My husband, the immigrant, went to the bathroom as I collected our things from security. The security guard asked to see our interview letter and told me to put it in the slot on the door to the offices. I did so and then waited for my husband to come back so he could watch our stuff while I went to the bathroom, otherwise, I'd have to bring it with me and then pass it through security again. As I was coming back through the metal detector, they called my husband's name. That must have been about 10:00.

The officer asked our names before she admitted us into the office area. She introduced herself and led us to her office. She told us to remain standing and then had us take an oath to tell the truth. She told us to sit and she pulled out our file.

The officer was a young woman. My first thought was that she was so young that she must be a junior officer and she would not be able to give us a final decision. I was a little disappointed, but still hopeful.

She started with the basic questions about my husband's name, date of birth, etc. She asked to see our ids and then asked where we met. I let my husband tell that story.

She was very nice, but not overly friendly. She was very professional. She didn't let it go with just the basic questions. She asked some questions about our specific situation. We were both very impressed by her detailed knowledge of our case. As I've alluded to before, after a couple of years of living together abroad after we were married, we lived in different countries for a while due to work and the process. This was the only aspect of our case that I thought might be a cause for concern, so when she started asking questions about it, I worried a little. I had sent in a timeline of our relationship explaining the time apart. I'm glad I did that. She asked clarifying questions about that time.

After about 15 minutes of questions including the "Are you a terrorist?" questions, she asked if my husband had received his EAD. He had not as of that morning. She said, "At this point, you'll probably get your residency before your work authorization." That's when we knew he was approved.

This has been a very stressful experience, but looking back from this vantage point, it has been remarkably easy. We are so happy we went with the AOS.

    Good luck, everyone.

Three more years before we file for naturalization!

lol, so did u make it to the bathroom before the interview? lol

So ur saying better to let the immigrant do the talking? so did they ask you all for ur own info or did they ask u for ur husbands info and vice versa? So it was pretty quick and painless? Im glad!! :)

    Congratz!!!

  6. Yay babay... really nice... How on earth ya'll got joint taxes- thats a big plus for even ROC applicants and ya'll got this in the bag

so wait u live in Dover and u have ur interview in Philly? thats like over 2 hrs away!!?

no wonder u goin to philly for 3 days! Good luck on ur interview!! :)

Me and my hubby went to Philadelphia, PA to see the downtown historic district and i thought it was great! We saw the liberty bell, and where the declaration of Independence was signed. And the museums, and Rocky statue! :D It was pretty, we really liked it. :) I wanna go to Washington DC and Virginia now.

Well we filled jointly, cuz for the past few years when i was working i was still paying taxes cuz I was using a Temporary Tax ID from the IRS. its funny, because its illegal to work, but if u do u can still pay taxes lol.. Its weird.

    Good Luck :)smileyvault-cute-big-smiley-animated-046.gif

  7. :) congrats !!!!!!

So happy to see someone from Ny getting an interview letter

Are you in queens ,manhattan or Brooklyn ?

I am from Queens, that's probably why I got garden city, ny

cuz i think people from Brooklyn Manhattan got the federal building in dwnt manhattan.

Federal building is probably better cuz we dont drive and there are no subways going to garden city.

WIll have to go take the subway J then the train and then the buss... loooonnngggggg

Maybe i will just ask someone to drive us there but i wanna be there hour before anyway :D

U filled a week after me, so i think in a week or two u should be also getting yours :D

dr_no3man: ThANKS! i am very proud of myself, I think i should spent at least half what we saved for something nice for myself haha

oh ps: Who do You think will win the world cup?

    Germany tore apart Argentina today!!

and now Spain won with Paraguay,

So now its Germany vs Spain!! OOoO i wanna see that, that will be a good game!!

    I am rooting for Germany!!! :D :D

oh also: love ur icon Felipe23! i was showing my husband the forum and he is like OoO Stewie!! WE both LOVE stewie!! haha

  8. I started preparing for the interview.

I have the following evidences of bonafide marriage:

    1. Affidavit from my dad stating that both of us live with him

    2. Both of our drivers licenses showing the same address

    3. Joint checking account showing the past 3 months statements

    4. IRA account listing my spouse (non-USC) as the beneficiary

    5. Life insurance policy listing my spouse (non-USC) as the beneficiary

    6. Joint TMobile cell phone account

    7. Receipts showing both of us purchasing furniture together

    8. Joint credit cards

    9. Affidavits from my mom and uncle confirming our relationship

    10. Wedding cards from our family congratulating us on our wedding

    11. 200+ photos from our dating period, civil wedding ceremony and various social events

    12. Letter from my employer listing my spouse (non-USC) as an emergency contact.

We do not have a lease, utility bills or home deed because we live with my parents. All those documents are in their names.

Is this enough? Will we need more?

oh yay! WE have the same interview date! :D

I think you have plenty evidence.

are u bringing the affidavit of support again? medical again? I have the medical forms, I believe i have copies of affidavit of support, i dont remember, but if not i will fill it out again and bring all supporting evidence.

    I am bringing:

    1. Joint checking account proof for past 4 months

    2. Past cable bill showing both names

    3. Bills showing the same address

    4. Husbands Union card where i am listed as beneficiary

    5. Joint tax return IRS for 2009 (which i think is big proof cuz no one wants to mess with the IRS.. lol)

    6. Appraisal of our wedding rings and my engagement ring worth over $6,000

    7. Receipt for our wedding bands dated, with my husbands Name and address

    8. Picture Album with Wedding pictures, Engagement pictures and from our relationship around 150 pictures (might print more)

hmm I think that is it,

we might also go and get a letter from the parish we are signed up for stating that we both attend there.

SO i think we both have alot of evidence. its alot of official govt evidence, like tax returns, bills,

you have the tmobile bills which is under contract? so shows long term etc etc...

I think we will be fine.

  9. yeah!!!!!!!!!! so happy for you mp, atleast you have movement on your case... Now come on IL, MP0009 is waiting (lol).

Thx!! and i think ur post hurried them up cuz...

    <drumroll (again) please....>...

I GOT MY INTERVIEW LETTER TODAY!!!

WOW Saturday? i would have never expected it! yay! yay!

When i saw the mail laying there and recognized its form USCIS, i didnt even go up inside to the apartment but opened it right then and there in the hallway! :) YAY!! omg that is a loonng letter!!

My interview is for August 4th at 9AM!!

its in garden city, ny which kinda sux cuz there are no subways that go there, so it will probably take us like 2 hrs to get there. anyway i will plan to be in front of the building at 8am and just know where it is and walk in like 8:20 cuz they say not to be more than 45min early. Hell no am i gonna be Late! so i guess we will leave like 5:30am. WIll have to check out the rail system. OHh im soo happy the interview letter is here.

I am soo proud of myself that i sent it all the necessary papers all by myself and didnt get any RFE! :D

(cuz we were thinking of going to the agency to help us file but that would be 500-600$ for them to fill out the papers for us! Ha i should buy myself something nice now hehe )

We are almost there guys! :D

  10. Nartaki congratz on the interview letter!!

Bessaangel: yay so u got a second email same exact one? so prob a week and u will get ur card already :D

    well <drum roll please>

    .......

I should get my EAD hopefully in like 10 days #### well cuz i got my first EAD APPROVAL email!!

The last processing action taken on your case

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

Finally!! I know they didnt forget about me! so now I should get a 2nd email and then the card?

Usually takes like a week to 10 days right?!

Yay! this cheered me up a bit!! maybe now in a week or two I will get my interview letter.

And with the card I can get a SS number right? and DL? even though I am a overstay? yay!!

    Finally some good news!!

oh also so I dont have to call the FBI to check now right? IF they approved the EAD the fbi checked it out and approved it obviously right?

  11. Oh yeah, I could do without the stress of having an interview in the first place, now Im put on blast to not just pass it but memorized every single minute detail for the ease of everyone... And as much as I love u guys and am definately gonna do it, that heightens the pressure a bit, dont ya think lol  Oh yeah, thanks for the LOVE lol

lol just concentrate on doing good! Whatever you remember will be fine, stay calm and take a breather so u don't get mixed up on anything! :D :D

PS: The Netherlands WON!! Brazil LOST !! number one team got knocked out!! thats wat u get for bein to cocky! Bye Brazil  lol

  12. Jannah, hang in there. I think you should turn your ex in and get him deported. Good luck whatever you decide.

MP- (and anyone waiting for their interview letter).. My husband went to Infopass today and they told him they had not scheduled the interview yet. So at least we know the letter is not lost.

they are just slacking huh? argh!! well good to know! thx! :)

so basically calling USCIS doesnt do anything huh? would have to schedule an infopass?

did they say how much longer it would take or if ur case has been transferred to the local office yet?

this is frustrating... ugh plus i dont feel so well now after eating a whole pint of Ben and Jerrys ice cream :crying:

  13. umm alrightie, well i would just take of myself, and I would look into it because when u signed a contract to be a sponsor now if he took medicaid or anything like that, the agency can go after you to repay it, I think after divorce there is some way to withdraw sponsorship. For all of us, right now we would get a 2 year conditional greencard, and 90 days prior to the 2 years we need to file a petition for removal of conditions. So if ur divorced odds are u wont get it because u cannot file the petition alone. Then if something seems fishy they can call you for another interview though if you had the 1st one , you just need to file the papers. so Im thinking he will lose his GC anyway, but u r right to take the proof and get proof about what kind of person he was and he committed insurance fraud etc etc...

BTW: wouldnt that be hard to remember 1 year and 9 months after getting ur greencard to file some papers? how do u set a remider for that lol? Well on the green card there is probably an expiration date..but still. if u dont use it everyday it can slip ur mind.. wonder what happens then?

I once realized my passport was expired a day before my flight.. i had to pay 3 or 4 times the amount to get a new one in less than 24hrs.. lol

Well good thing i didnt realize at the airport.. lol

  14. I agree. Even with worse scenerio they have to listen, and be calm and honest.

Last year at INS July 17th I had an interview. My ex did not have on a ring. she never said anything. We had NO wedding pictures, she never said a thing. We had basic pictures, lease and bank stuff. We had no one at our ceremony and it was at the courthouse by the judge. she never said a thing. We had no letters or affidavits from family. (he forgot to mention he NEVER told his family.. anyway) She asked does your family like him. I said No. 10 min later he had his card. I was so scared and I remember throwing up that morning, cause I loved him.. stupid but I fell hook, line and sinker.... Oh well. Alhamdulillah, I found the love of my life. and my family's full support and a nice wedding at the masjid with my family and our friends; not to mention of sweet little one on the way. Thank you God for taking me from the darkness and putting me into the light. Now if I can just get through this interview. My life is as happy as I want it. My family complete. My 2 kids, my baby and my wonderful sweety hubby :P (awwww, newlyweds... PUKE..lol)

scary stufff, oh wow so not alot of time have passed since the last interview? do if u got divorced, doesnt that guy lose his greencard because he only had that 2 year conditional one?

I hope you wont have any problems, thats like I heared alot of cases where the other person changes after they got their papers, ppl living in lies just to get the GC, these ppl must be very evil to be capable of lying and cheating for such a long time. I cant even imagine.

Well since you are pregnant I think that is one of the ultimate proofs that this is a real marriage! I don't think you guys would conceive a baby just for a sham marriage, what sane person would do that?!

everyone is entitled to mistakes rght?

OMG, well i may be less nervous than my husband becuase my english is better, he could get all tangled up and say something wrong... i just gotta remind him to be calm, take his time and think... like saying the wrong birth year... lol If your english is not good, i wouldnt be surprised if u get something mixed up

ugh still zero INFO, i am going to try cal USCIS and/or FBI tommorow if I have time

    :crying:

  15. If you want to go that route Alla... To get something translated you have to go through a "certified translator" even though you can translate it yourself. I found a company through google and these translators have some sort of identifying number etc that they put on the translated document. So your mom could send you a letter and you'd have it officially translated.. Just FYI... but I think you have enough stuff as it is :)

yea You cannot just translate it yourself, but u go to a agency, there are tons in nyc anyway Im sure there must be some in atlanta. I got a birth certificate from my country and went to get it officially translated and they tranlate literally everyword and then they officially stamp it. it costs like max 20$ i believe.

But i believe you have enough evidence.

STILL no interview letter today, and still no EAD approved! ugh!! :crying:

  16. Good luck !!go easy on the coffee to not be all hyper ... :)

sport talk: our beautiful football doesn't win games anymore :( that's why this year we have a diferent aproach with a solid team ... But seriously Argentina you hit me right in the neck ... Lol

interesting teams left in quarter finals

    Netherlands vs. Brazil

    Uruguay vs. Ghana

    Argentina vs. Germany

    Paraguay vs. Spain

I wanna See Brazil vs Germany in the finals!!!

I think Germany has been doing good but also having alot of luck.

I think Beckham is sooo overrated and waayy overpaid!! I am soo glad that Germany schooled England 4 to 1!! :D Beckham was sooo pissed! HA! hehe

  17. Your checks were cashed 6 business days after mine. So if it were exactly the same, your EAD would be processed July 1. So yeah, I think the VJ timeline suggestion is good, you should be getting the touch any day now! Let's hope!

OoOoO im getting excited!!! I really really hope it is within the processing times, that would mean i could get a ss number soon!! and get a good job !!

its hard 2 get anything without ss, not to mention people who do take you usually take advantage of that fact meaning pay u less than minimum wage and make u do twice the work, and when u work physically it is very draining and tiring!

I cant wait!! cuz life is HARD!

Alla u were in a local magazine? COOL lol

WOW ALLA thats alot of evidence. Well with the overstay i think u will be fine, but with the previous marriage i guess might be iffy? but u didnt apply for AOS with that person right?

I know a guy, he married applied for AOS but things didnt work out so her gt divorced, and just didnt go to biometrics and abandonded the AOS.

Now he met another grl and plans to get married again and apply for AOS again... now that would look suspicious 2 me.

I dont know who, but someone who was an overstay mentioned something about the officer saying something that ohh well if u were just marrying for papers I guess u would do it sooner than waiting like 6 years... guess that makes sense right?

as i mentioned earlier i have

2009 IRS Joint tax return, cable bill, bank statement, union card where i am the beneficiary, a picture album

I guess i could also take our wedding/engagement rings receipts appraisal its for over 5K so I think thats good proof. I think the email/telephone records are not necessary. but thats me.

Especially since I think there are no USCIS red flags in why we are together, meaning no big age difference, same home country, really no big differences, no criminal offenses, havent filled AOS before... cant think of any more red flags..

  18. Wow lots of army ppl here :) MP first thing that came to my mind was Miltary Police...lol Loved the MP's on my base. My dad served in Desert Storm, we lived in Virginia at the time, he did some work for the Pentagon. Sadly Vint Hill is now closed.

Don't worry Sensii.. I think you will be fine. Stay strong you are doing great as MP said.

Harpa the plane tickets are a great idea. I would take those.

ummm... u mean me? no i meant Sennsii as a military wife...

oh lol nah, MP is somthing of an inside joke from way back My Pleasure, its all these shortened words with everyone texting and IM'ing these days. And it kidna stayed.

You know whats hard to figure out by these nicknames for me sometimes if its a male or female.. lol

ohhh i just looked at the VIsa journey timeline and for EAD it says:

Based on timeline data, your EAD may be adjudicated between July 5, 2010 and July 10, 2010*.

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.

so based on proccessing times it should be def approved by july 10th right? well i will be calig uscis after 4th of july 2 see.

  19. Although I need to follow my own advice on this myself (lol) I am confident that if you explain the situation they should understand. How can you have more than what you have if he was deployed! You do have some things, so that should be good. We got married on the 15th and sent our paperwork on the 16th, so we had only affidavits from our friends and family. Even now, he needs a SSN to do much of anything, so we are waiting on that. And, I have an absentee landlord and while they know he lives with me there, I don't want to formally ask to put him on the lease because I am worried they'd make me sign a new year and I am on a month-to-month now. So I have less than you. For the interview I will bring photos and the wedding announcement my parents sent out, and maybe our "comingling" which is basically just us dividing expenses and paying eachother back for things (I might bring receipts for various plane tickets to my parent's house, his parent's house, etc). So I have less than you. I am hoping that they will listen and understand for our case as well. Let's try to give the gov. the benefit of the doubt, even though they try our patience! I hope a real person will be better than the automated online system etc. And, they have a system in place, the whole "Removal of Conditions" which, I think, shows that they know newlyeds don't have a lot of joint evidence, yet... that's why they make us show them 2 years down the line all over again.

ohh ur timeline makes me feel better, i mean cuz u filled earlier than me and u just got ur EAD, did u expedite ur EAD? Yea it is true that for everything now you need a SS number, only reason i have so much is cuz both me and him have been in the US for over 5 yrs now so had time to get some bills etc cuz a couple of yrs back u didnt need a ss to open an account credit card etc... its still hard, just bring what you can and i think you will be ok with the stuff you are gonna bring..

loooooooooooooooool its nt funny but u making me laugh

    haah the sarcasm

so when he comes back we we celebrating our marriage n moving into a house together

but so far i have nothing

    i only have

    dental insurance

    health insurance

    n power of attorney

    n his cars

bank aount together dat we even use coz i get money directly from his mypay website

now what the hell do i do?

yea funny and depressing at the same time... lol

you know how u say a watched pot never boils...

im gonna make a new saying:

A watched mailbox never contains the interview letter

lol try and stop waiting, its hard!! lol

As for evidence I think you have PLENTY!! its not like its ur fault, wat the hell ur husband in fighting for this countrys freedom. As a army wife, i think u should get it faster and witout all this stress. Obviously ur husband cant be there to help You! i think ur doing great!! Keep it up!!

there are slighlty different procedures for u guys right? cuz u will be going to the interview alone

ps: did u ever watch that show "The Unit" on upn 9?

  20. omg dont even remind me!

I am sooo bored!!! and waiting for the mail every single day does not help at all!!

I think i will call uscis maybe fri to check it out maybe they can tell me something about my case.

The only thought that worries me is that they delivered my interview letter to the wrong place, but i mean if i received all the other stuff really what are the odds of that

I cant think of any additional evidence i would pring to the interview, i sent a few pictures, a joint tax return, a common cable bill and common bank account. I think that has alot of valididty, i am thinking the tax return should be alot cuz u dont wanna mess with the IRS.

So i think i will just bring, the most recent bank statement, most recent cable bill, more pictures and copy of my husbands union card showing that i am the beneficiary.

offcourse i will bring that IF I EVER GET MY INTERVIEW LETTER..... ;(

ps: when u guys go on visajourney how do you find our Topic? cuz before i used to go on my profile and TOPICS and the last message which i posted was there but now its blank, and i have to go on my email look for a notification and click on it and then log on.

  21. URS WILL BE COMING SOON N might i add that i m the best psychic in mt country !!!!!! yeayyyy lol

man i wonder if we cn walk in intervew

lol someone i know did it but he ws being deployed the next day

I am relying and trusting on ur psychic powers!!! :)

Lol I never thought of that, walkin in interview.

I should do that, go 2 the closest uscis building and be like :excuse me I didn't receive my interview letter yet but I was tired of waiting so I figured I would do a walk in interview. It would be great if u giys also put my gfeen card in print and send it 2 me express mnail so it gets 2 me asap. Please and thank you :) lol

  22. Congrats to Alla and Sensii :thumbs:

I am trying to stay sane but it's hard when I am reading all your good news stories :(

Lol its ok, look at mine it will make you feel better.

No rfe's walkin in bio, over a month after bio and still nothing.

As you can see in Alla's case sometimes waiting for a long time is normal and u will also get your interview letter,

    dont worry :)

    CONGRATS ON THE LETTER SENSII!!!

Im happy 4 u guys, even though all you mean'ies are leavin me behind!! lol watch u will be flying in and out of the country with greencards and MP0009 will be like where the f*** is my interview letter... lol nah jk, hope not

    MUCH LOVE !!! (L) (L) (L)
