My interview is tomorrow!

I got my folder all organized, have originals of everything I sent in and have additional proof of bona fide marriage originals and copies. Have my album of like a 100 pics, from the time we met to present day, including wedding and engagement pics. I also reprinted affidavits of support cuz i found them saved on my email, and got my co sponsor to sign it again and i took the co sponsors original citizenship certificate. I know they probably wont need this, but if there is even a tiny one in a million chance that USCIS mispacles anything I have all the I130, 485, medical and support forms printed

The only sucky thing is that my husband is sick, he was feeling bad all weekend, went to the doct yest and apparently he has the flu... The doct gave him like 5 different kinds of medicine yest, and i been keeping away so i dont get it cuz i dont want to be feeling sick tomm. And hopefully he will be feeling a lil better tomorrow. Or when he starts coughing or smth hopefully the IO will will not questions us and just approve us in 5 minutes because he wont wanna get sick lol Im excited, not really worried, i have so much proof and everything is all organized this is just a formality. :D yayz

ps: yay exciting 2 see 1 day till interview on my countdown!! seems like just yest it was 30....

I'm pretty sure they would be ok with copies of your sponsor's paperwork if you explain that they're not your documents so you can only give copies. But honestly, there is a big chance that they already have it and won't ask for it at all.

Yea that's wat I'm thinking that since they never issued me any RFE's they should have it. But I'm afraid that in their files somehow the sponsor form has been mispalced and they say oh u don't have the sponsor form? Ok bye..

I think I will type out another sponsor form and take my joint sponsors original citizenship certificate just 2 be sure. Shouldnnt take long for me 2 type it out. Ohh 2 days till the interview! Yay

I have my interview Wednesday, we got a ride ready so we dont need 2 get up at 5am and take over 2 hrs to get there. Instead its probabably like 30-45 min by car thats prob wit traffic. My appnt is at 9am, but we plan 2 leave at 7 just in case there is some horrible traffic so we should be there 2 before 8 just to know where the bulding is and go in like 810 or so.

Ok ALSO BIG QUESTION!

On the interview letter is states:

Bring in all originals of the documents You sent in, or smth like that right?

Well I have a joint sponsor and I sent in a copy of her taxes, and copy of proof of her citizenship certificate and passport page. So do I have to ask her for the originals in case they wanna see it the day of the interview?

or is that unnecessary? i dont know if i should ask her for it... its very important documents, I would be kinda afraid to give it to someone..

If u do not get ur card in 2 weeks pls contact the qns card center and in brklyn they say it takes so long. Cuz that's the paper I got the day I applied.

Oh I'm finally on the list! Woo-hoo! I started 2 gather documents today. I think I have a lot of official proof of marriage in case they ask:

Common tax return, tax return check in both names chowing common address, insurance cards, me being shown as beneficiary in husbands union card, cable bill in our names, common bank account, engagement rings and wedding bands recipt.

But looks like they don't even ask 4 it. I'm not 2 worried bout the questions, just need 2 reminf my hubby 2 take it slow and think about the questions before he answers. I need 2 tell him 2 write a list of all my wonderful qualities so he can just easily name them 2 the IO officer LOL.

Hmm I don't have a copy of the affidavit. U thnk I should prnt out another copy 2 have it handy?

Btw; ur ss card situation is outrages! How can they not give u a recipt rigth then and there?!? I don't care ur comp crashed, get on another one and print me a recipt! Stupid govt official!

And seriously ask where the hell they got their 6 weeks ######?! Cuz in qns they say 2 wks. I really don't understand how this can be soo different in the same city (I know I said this already but I really can't get it). When did u apply? Maybe u will just get it in a week like me :D

I get ur point but thats approval with USCIS not SSA... they are two diff entities that rarely communicate so approval with USCIS isnt always already updated with SSA, just like when u get the GC, it takes a day to update to get the SSN from them so its the same thing- the previous week or two of approval mean nothing to SSA

Umm I don't think the SSA has any info on You when u get ur EAD. How would they know anythin bout u if u never applied 4 a SS number? So I think they go and check wit DHS Dept of Homeland Security once u put in an application. Previous 2 that they don't have you in the comps. Maybe DHS or Uscis has a system where SSA can log in and check ur info. And then if smth is wrong and doesn't pop up automatically they have 2 contact them which then takes a lot longer.

Sux u having all these problems. U r saying that u diddnt get any paper confirming u applied? Wat the heck? Yea I did get that, and said SS card would come in 2 wks. I can't believe they r saying diff things in the same city... So they said they would send u a recipt by mail? That's weird, if u don't get it call back. U don't even have any proof u applied

Well I would think it would be updated in the system already. Cuz by the time u get ur card the EAD form has been aproved for like week and a half alreaddy (since the first email we got bout ead but maybe it depends on the speed and how organized the local office is)

Got a question, when did u get the EAD and how soon did u apply fot the SSN because that matters.

well idk if that matters... i got my EAD saturday 17th and the following monday 19th went to get my SS card and got my card on saturday 24th. so i was suprised how fast that was

ummm idk wat the heck the lady was taking about 4-6 weeks? the lady at the queens office told me i would get mine within 2 weeks and i applied on monday and i got my card at saturday...

WOW that would be weird if u went 2 brooklyn office and they told u something else, its the same freakin city!!

and i applied using my ead.. and yes I checked legal and able to work and everything turned out fine.

I have a question! I am trying to fill out the SSN form, and I am confused!!

My hubby is an overstay, we have not been approved for the I-130 or the I-485 yet. but he has an EAD card.. So is he legal or illegal? It says proof of immigration status ie I-94.. his is now expired

The Ead is good till next year, so what the hell do I check.. Legal and able to work?

UGGG.. I am so confused. Does he have to have a SSN right now, guess he better call his boss-to-be.

Yea wit the EAD u can def get a SS number! u can work wit EAD and to work u need a SS number so u def can apply wit an EAD. And I checked legal and able to work and I was also an overstay like over 5 years.

nothing comes easy in life, it took me forever to even be able to apply for this, and if anything , im just happy that i got the chance to see a working permit in my name n a social in my name...

at the same time GOD is stronger than all of them, and has our fate in hand, we shouldnt be scared of them lyk they got the key to our ultimate happiness, if not here, its another place.

we all have the individual power to make it anymore in the world, usa is not the ultimate key n answer to everyone, n everything.

Yep and good things do come back eventually. God has a plan for all of us which we sometimes do not understand but its important we always believe in ourselves and stay good.

Catholic divorce is easy. you pay 5k and file some papers with your preist and bam done. I was catholic as was Lily and Jared's father. Every Abrahic faith allows for divorce. Nothing in life is perfect. Once you divorce and time has passed (90 days in Islam) you are free to marry whom you wish. Marriage is how families come about. so if people could not remarry, there would many single people sinning.

I know ppl who marry get divorced and then because of the Church get married by the JP.. No one says they are not a legal married couple.. or that they are legit. There is seperation from church and state.

hmm i havent heard about doing that in my community but Im not denying it, there is alot of corrupt priests and basically u can fix alot of things by throwing money at it... I agree with You, nothing in life is perfect. Women marry men, the men beat them or drink and don't support their families and still if the women divorces the men they go to confession and they cannot get forgiveness because they are at sin. So I agree this is not right, it maybe stops ppl form going into rush decisions, but like u said when things do happen u get separated from the church because u are looked at like u r a sinner. And at ur time of need the church should help u. I understand i had a very unpleasant expierience. Me and my husband got a civil, get my GC and we want to take a church wedding in our home country wit our families there. I went to confession here and the priest told me he cannot give me forgiveness because I am living with the guy but dont have a church wedding, even though I am committed to one person. But if a girl came in who sleeps around with tens of different guys a week who shee doesnt love and says she feels sorry for what she is doing she gets forgiveness... Oh yea thats real fair... right?

Well all religions have its faults, but its mostly because of ppls interpretations i think, I think as long as u are a good person and dont go through life hurting people and you talk to God and not some guy in a priest suit who thinks he is all high and mighty. It also depends on the priest because religious leaders should be there to support their ppl. I know a priest like that and he is great and understanding and keeps people coming back to church and faith.

Your religious leader also sounds like that, since he is happy to help and support you.

Anyway I think that after research the IO will understand the process, come on u guys are having a baby together!?! how can they possibly say that ur intentions 2 be together arent real? Well u were truthful and had enough evidence. After thinking it through and research on Islam divorce and seeing u are telling the truth Im sure u will get the welcome letter!

Back. We have to wait.

Our interview was 45 min. Basic questions of how we met, and the I-485 questions. Went over the other forms.

The man said to us, I'll be honest Christine, it looks suspicious as you married 2 Muslims in the same community. I told him well there is only one or two muslim communities in Pgh. Over all the interview was good. I was honest with them about Majed. He asked me How do you know this man will not use you. I showed him all our couseling, and went over the Islamic contract with him. He asked if I had proof that my marriage was terminated in Islam, Which I don't. All the man has to say is I divorce you.. How can I have proof for that. I told him, if it was not Islamically ended the Imam never would have married us in the masjid. He said. Okay, let me investigate weither or not your marriage is islamically broken from Majed and then I will make a decision. He told us about how to lift conditions, and told my hubby he should get something in 2 weeks as a welcom letter. Or we would get a RFE about the divorce. They have the state divorce... I dont understand. God willing I will hear good news soon. Over all like I said this guy was very pleasant, he congratulated us on the baby. He also took the e-mail Majed wrote the other day.

:/ Gulp! yes i agree that does seem strange... i didnt know in Islam you could get a divorce and get married again.

In the catholic faith there is no such thing as divorce, well there is if you go to the Pope and really prove that ur wife/husband treated u badly which is very very hard/nearly impossible.

Anyway me knowing nothing about the Islam religion, it seems common sense that u wouldnt be able to get married again by the ur religious person if u were not divorced. Especially since u had a letter from ur religious leader. I think he will research this and understand it, reread the paper work and proof u submitted, and Im sure u will get that Welcome Letter in 2 weeks!!!

You will be fine after taking out your wisdom teeth. I got mine out about 3 weeks ago. You will be heavily medicated so you won't feel a thing. The only crappy part is you won't be able to eat normal food for a while and your breath will probably stink (can't brush your teeth properly). After you heal, you will have gaping holes in your mouth where all kinds of food will get stuck so you have to use the water gun (dentist approved) to clean those holes. Its kinda disgusting how much ####### I find in my mouth everyday.

When do u have the ticket for? How long after the interview? If its just a few days after, u might have 2 schedule a info pass appnt 2 get a stamp or ask them 4 a stamp after the interview.

Coca cola: yea I applied as soon as I got my EAD cuz u have to wait a week or two 2 get a ss card. So after the interview u wait for ur GC 2 weeks and another 2 weeks for SS card...

So if u need a ss card (if ur in a hurry 2 work or u want 2 get a drivers license) I would apply as soon as u get ur EAD

But wish me luck tomm, I am having surgery for all 4 wisdom teeth to be taken out. Gulp!! I'm scaredd!!

Our appointment time was 2:45pm we got there at 2:15pm and we were called straight in as there was nobody else there. We were in the office for around 15 minutes. We were both asked a few questions each, she asked to see bank statements, photos and the other joint stuff we took with us. She kept some for her file. She also took my Advance Parole Documents, EAD and I94. WE WERE APPROVED! No ambiguity about it, she outright said she was approving the application and to expect my Greencard within 10 days. She was a really nice lady and completely made us feel at ease.

2 years of peace now!!

Ok, my interview is tomorrow @ 2:45pm. I think I'm all prepared. Hubby and I bought new outfits and I'm sending him for a haircut in the morning! He got the day off work so we can just relax and do things at a steady pace. I am feeling calm right now but know I won't be able to sleep.

We hired an attorney to help with our paperwork, so she made us copies of everything that was sent when they originally filed the case. All 350 pages of it!

So I have that. Just incase they are missing anything.

Our attorney actually used to work for USCIS.

Then we have 2 photo albums, one with wedding pictures, one with pictures of us on our various trips/stays together. There are about 70 photos.

We have originals of, birth certificates, passports, wedding certificate, my divorce papers.

Evidence of joint checking account, savings account, I'm an authorized user on 4 credit card accounts of his, joint utility bills, me being beneficiary on his life insurance policy.

All of our original e-tickets from our flights to and from each other, boarding passes, luggage tags.

Wedding cards, birthday cards to and from each other, notes/letters to and from each other.

Western Union receipts (he would help me out with money from time to time)

Itemized cell phone bills showing a years worth of calls to and from each other (we could only go back that far)

I think that's it.

Yea that's A LOT of evidence. So u came here on a fiance visa? Do they check those more? I think u have a lot of official evidence like credit cards and bank accounts, life beneficiary so that's really good.

I have been here for over 6 years on a tourist visa so hopefully I won't have any problems if I wanted 2 get married just for papers I wouldn't be struggling here for the past 6 yrs rght, would do it earlier...

Good luck to you all for the future. I received my denial letter today (I explained it on my other thread). I don't have anything to worry about now, well apart from possible removal procedings if I don't leave within 30 days

Im sorry for what happened in ur case, from what i understand that you had a RFE and when u submitted ur info, USCIS decided that You did not submit enough info for the RFE and denied ur case. a sponsor is an important part in being sponsored in AOS since USCIS needs to have someone liable in case you wont be able to support urself. My husband didnt make enough, well couldnt document it so we got a co-sponsor. Being so far in Alaska where i think mail takes a long time to get, probably does not help either with getting info from USCIS. Well i guess now you just have to decide whether You want to spend money and time on a lawyer consultation to try to stay in this country (thats what i would do btw, try to get a consultation and appeal and start a new application with additional info) or if it makes more sense for you to go back to your country since u can have a good life there.

u mean after u get the approval email? well on the 14th i got the email:

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On July 14, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION.

meaning they sent the card and I got it 2 days ltr on the 17th.

Monday i went into SS office, and now am waiting for the card, so that adds to the wait a little bit so when u get the EAD card go to the SS office ASAP! and go early, atleast here ther's less ppl

I was at the SS office, applied for a SS card!! Woo-hoo!!

My advice go early, we were supposed 2 go at 7 but overslept got then at 9. The line was like 1\3 full, by 10 when we were leaving that place was soooo compleltly packed! I got a recipt and they said I should get it within 2 wks, and they always tell u the maximum so I'm hoping it will be like a week like felipe23 did.I will look through documents make sure. I have everything, interview in 2 weeks 3 days! Yay! it all seems so close and great!

Ohhh also friday; I'm gettin all 4 wisdom teeth taken out. I wanted 2 make sure I'm all healed for the interview. I'm scared of the wisdom teeth, they r putting me 2 sleep and everything. and then only soft foods till all the stuff heal. Ouchie!!! :(
