  1. Dear all,

This summer me and my girlfriend (going to be fiance) will fill out the K1 forms together.

I will be going to the US to propose to her and start the K1 Proces. We want to send the I-129F package out when im there.

What is it that I need to bring from my here to the US to ad with the I-129F form? What I only was thinking about is evidence of a relationship and my birthcertificate?

    Is that all?

    Thanks!

  2. If your joking, then yeah there are alot of big No NO's to say.....And them folks....well I really don't think they have a sense of humor when on the job. There is one I have read that I know you diffidently shouldn't say..... your coming into the U.S.A. to marry your gal. The agent could take that as you intend to immigrate and deny your entry.

Gotcha, well im not planning to do that :)

  3. Hi!

I've been reading for a while. Me and my fiancé are finally putting our K1 package together, but while filling in the I-129F we got stuck at question 18, and I was hoping someone here could help us!

    Our situation is:

We met in August 2005 in The Netherlands. Since then we've been visiting each other in both the US as the Netherlands as much as we could. Since I am now finally getting done with grad school, we are now starting our K1 process.

The thing we were confused about regarding question 18 is whether they want to know if we have met for the first time in the last two years OR if we have met in person in the last two years.

If they want the first, our answer would be 'NO', it they want the second, it would be 'YES'. Also the details would be different. The story of how we met is different than the story of how we met in the last two years.

    Thanks so much!

    Clint

    Ey Clint!

    Jij ook hier haha.

Answer to your question: What I think is that they want you atleast have seen eachother in the last two years.

    Groet,

    Brian

  4. You might want to fill in a few details in your profile.

I believe you are the prospective foreign fiancé.

I know you haven't started the process yet,

but you could indicate some details about your USC

girlfriend as well as indicating your nationality and

which route you both plan to follow.

    Thanks

    I will go do that!

  5. No we hadn't started the K1 process. We hadn't even decided to get married at that point. He entered in Chicago Dec 1 2009. The agent wasn't happy with how long my fellow was staying, about 85 days. For some reason he thought it a bit too long to visit. Either that or he was simply being a ####. Just make sure you have your proof of applying for the K1 with you....and make sure that you have proof of your income(or that of your S.O.) that will support you while visiting the U.S. The second time around I made sure I had sent a couple of paycheck stubs, a bank statement showing deposits (marking out account numbers and such) and a signed notarized letter in a sealed envelope that showed the postal stamps and dates. That way if they had said anything to my S.O. and took him to secondary, he could show that he is indeed being on the up and up and intend to follow the laws of immigration for the US. But like I said the second time he came through Atlanta and as the south is wont to do....the used good sense and welcomed my fellow and told him to have a great visit. Again good luck with yours.

I havent started the K1 process yet either, not even proposed yet (planning this summer).

Im going to be visiting for 62 days on my school summer break...so hopefully no problem!

  6. My fiance and I went through this just a month ago. It was stressful to say the least. We however found that it depends upon the POE. He has been through Chicago now and Atlanta. Chicago gave him a hard time, while Atlanta asked him two questions and then told him to enjoy his vacation. Researching this myself, I found that most say that to be honest is the best policy. Also, for the most part you shouldn't have any trouble. It seems to be the odd case that gets hung up entering the country for a visit. So best advice .....honesty and hope you get a entry agent that doesn't have a corn cob up his backside. Good Luck and hope you enjoy your visit!

P.S. Less is more. Don't volunteer any extra information. Answer their questions simply and honestly.

    Thanks for the responds.

I will be entering in Chicago. Could you tell me in what way they gave him a hard time? What did he tell them?

Where you guys already in the K1 process?

  7. Im planning to say that im going to visit friends that I made while I was in the US for and that I want to spend my summerbreak here. Will this work?

But I have send packages and letters towards my girl, do they make a record of this?

Just say you are visiting some friends to avoid more questions.

When I go to the USA, I always say I am visiting friends- which is true, because my boyfriend is my

best friend....=) and plus, it's a way to avoid more questions...

How long where your visits tho?

  8. Dear all,

This summer I got a trip plannend to see my girlfriend/fiance. We havent started the K1 Proces yet.

The trip will be from July 1st untill Augst 31st, its during my schoolbreak.

I would like some advice on what to tell at the POE in Chicago.

I was a exchange student who played (American) Football for a year in Kansas. Should I tell the POE officers that

I am visitingen my friends (what I am ofcourse going to do) or should I say that I am visiting my girlfriend.

I really dont have any intention to stay because I have to finish my senior year after this summer.

Please give me advice, I am so nervous for the POE :(

Is the trip too long? Is it suspicous? Tell me!

    Thank you!

  9. Like a lot of posters in this thread, I just want to wish you all the best!

I'm 20 and Matt, my lovely USC fiancé, is 22. We had our I-129F approved recently - my advice would be to just read as much as you can (VJ guides are seriously a godsend) and try to get your head around the process. This experience can be overwhelming and it can be tough, but I think that's what makes this process what it is. You'll have your ups and your downs but keeping the end goal in mind seems to ensure my sanity :) Everyone here is super supportive and helpful and questions always have answers it seems, even if you find them by trawling through old threads and doing searches. Moonandstar is right, country-specific boards are a huge help.

    Good luck!

Ey Matt thanks for the support!

happy that your 129F is approved. Any tips about the I-129F package? Just follow the instructions on the guides and the example forms?

  10. O yea, your definatly not alone.

Am 20, my fiancee is 26. I am the USC, and here in China, i cant marry until im 23, so i have to do the K-1, or no visa at all!

Will be interviewing on the 10th, Good luck to you guys, I'm predicting a pink for us- we did all our homework starting 2 months before we even applied, and we have everything under the sun for the interview.

Im sure that you guys will too, since your asking questions NOW, rathar than 2 weeks b4 interview like some other people do!

If you have any questions, VJ is the place to ask. Even better is if you can find a board that is specific to your country. Come the interview, all consulates are NOT created equal.

    Good luck again!

    Thank you for the support!

I am researching for a while now. I dont want to jump in anything fast that will be lifechanging.

VJ is a very helpfull source for all the questions I have.

I read about couples who get there visa after 15 months or even later. How can that happen? Because we want to send the 129F this summer while im visiting her and then the next summer I would like to move over there, after my study.
