  1. The Affidavit of Support (I-864) isn't filed with the I-129F but when it comes to visa time you need to submit the I-134 and some countries require you to prove that you earn over 125% of the poverty guidelines when you file it. Some countries expect you to prove only 100% for the I-134. For that reason you need to at least know what the poverty guidelines are and the I-864P that I posted in my previous post above shows them.

Where can you find what guideline is needed for wich country?

  2. It's possible that your fiance is over the poverty limit, but you never want to send an application in with assumptions. I would either wait till she gets her taxes filed (which will show her years income) or I would get a co-sponser. In fact you might want to consider it anyway just to be safe because it is a new job and she is so close to the line.

Hope this helps a little :)

Thanks for your responds! We're not filling out the papers yet, we are waiting for the tax return. But we just want to take care of things before we get our NOA2, so we can send it out at once we get accepted.

  3. I have a concern about the Affidavit of Support quota that my fiance has to reach.

My fiance is a senior at the university and works besides that. Her tax return will say that she earned around $7,600 untill April. In that month she started a new job what made $11,450 till December.

So that will make the total to lil bit over $19,000. I know thats more then the $18,000 she has to reach, but will it become a problem because she only made $11,450 at the job that she is working now?

    Thanks for the help :)

  4. Let start a topic about our wedding date's, all these negative topics on here make me sad.

It would be nice to see what everyone's date is and the reason why...atleast I think it is lol

Copy and paste it yourself, lets have some fun

    Wedding date: Augst 6th 2011

Why that date?: Because It's a year later after we got engaged!!

    129-F Send: September 2010

Positive that you're going to make that date with these service centers going so slow: For sure!

  5. I hope so! We're planning our wedding for August 14th, but I'm at CSC and it depends on your local embassy. I know the Lima embassy tends to be pretty quick with an interview in about a month, but at others you might have to wait 2-4 months for an interview! Look into how your embassy is.

Where can I look that up? My consualte is Amsterdam, Netherlands.

  6. I would go in before that if i were you. We have had ours on board since month 3 of waiting. They will need a special signed form to look into your case at USCIS. If yours is nearby, then go and see them ASAP.

So what do you do there..can you maybe give a brief explanation how it goes? Does it take me an entire day or a few minutes? Maybe also a stupid question, I see people write about congressman, is that the same as a senator?

  7. http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?State=WA Top right hand corner. Enter your state to look up your Senators.

Senators will have several offices all over your state. If you have one near you, do a walk in and tell them off your situation. They will advise you.

Sweet thanks! They have one close by. So I guess just walk in after the 5 month period? What do we say then? Its been after 5 months can the senator help us?

  8. my thoughts to you is- hang in there, enjoy your friends and family because- chances are that when you are here (USA) already- you will miss them all!!!!!!!!!!!

Please email me if you want to "talk". I have been there and wish I enjoyed my friends more back then...

I can see that. But the only person that is on my mind is my fiance, I dont feel myself without her. I know I have to spend time with the family and Im doing that, but im not complety happy...guess you know what I mean.

  9. Well, although VSC are approving more petitions now that the new year has begun, it is still not nearly enough for us to get our NOA2 before the five month processing time.

I hope all you September filers here have your Senator appraised of your situation, so that they can contact USCIS on your behalf. It seems to be the way to get things done right now.

Really?? I dont think that all the July filers contacted there senator to get there NOA2's, or did they?

  10. 5 1/2 months for me, although it seems more like 5 1/2 years. We talk every week on the phone and e-mail each other 5 times a week on the average, but both of them are poor substitutes for her being here.

Wow we email everyday! With these new phones you can email to eachother like it is texting and we even talk on the phone everyday (calling from skype to her cellphone).

  11. Hey everyone,

I just said goodbye to the one I love after a amazing 3 weeks together. The plan is that I wont see her for nearly 6 months. We both are finishing school and she has a lot of wedding planning to do. We're currently in the K1 proces (September 2010 filers) aiming that our wedding will be on Augst 6. 2011 and me leaving to be with her in July.

Now Im really down with that time that we have to be apart. This is the longest we havent seen eachother, herefor almost 4 months. Now my question is to see how long other people havent seen there beloved ones, hopefully it will make me feel better.

    Thank you :)
