  1. You are definitely in a difficult situation.  Your only way to win is to be able to proof that at no time there was an intention to deceive the government and that while it lasted, your marriage was a bona fide marriage.  The documentation you have will have some weight.  Can you prove commingling of funds and property?  This as you know is the most important thing.  USCIS knows that divorces can be very problematics and they know of some people being are  very vindictive so they surely will take this into account.

After a Green Card is Granted

A Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) is issued to all permanent residents as proof that they are authorized to live and work in the United States. If you are a permanent resident age 18 or older, you are required to have a valid Green Card in your possession at all times.

This page gives you a brief summary of the top actions a permanent resident may need to do after receiving a Green Card.

    Find on this page:

    Renewing Your 10-Year Green Card

You should renew your Green Card if you are a permanent resident and your card is valid for 10 years and is either expired or will expire within the next 6 months. You may begin the renewal process by:

See more information on renewing your Green Card.

Note: Do NOT file Form I-90 if you have a 2-Year Green Card.

Removing Conditions on Your 2-Year Green Card

Conditional permanent residents must file a petition to remove conditions during the 90 days before the card expires.

A 2-Year card cannot be renewed. The conditions must be removed or you will lose your permanent resident status.

A conditional permanent resident receives a Green Card valid for 2 years. To remain a permanent resident:

See more information on removing conditions on your Green Card.

    Replacing Your Card

You should file Form I-90 to replace your Green Card if it has been lost, stolen or mutilated. You may request to replace your Green Card for certain other limited reasons. (For example: Your card was issued before you were 14 and you have reached your 14th birthday, unless your card expires before your 16th birthday.)

See more information on replacing your lost, stolen or mutilated Green Card.

    Reminders about Green Card Benefits

You can use your Green Card to:

    • Prove employment eligibility in the United States when completing the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
    • Apply for a Social Security Card and a state issued driver’s license.

A Green Card is valid for readmission to the United States after a trip abroad if you do not leave for longer than 1 year. If your trip will last longer than 1 year, a reentry permit is needed.

  3. I am having trouble understanding your question.  You say your husband´s car insurance and affidavits were not listed in the "document we submitted".  What document.  Nevertheless, let me say the affidavits are almost useless. You can get anybody to say you are an outstanding citizen even if you are a serial killer.  Insofar as you husband's car insurance, it does nothing to prove commingling of funds.  Therefore, concentrate and all documents that prove funds commingling and you will have no problem. (joint IRS transcripts, leases, health and life insurance, titles in both of your names including car insurance in both of your names utility bills (even if on only one of your names, it will show mutual address you can prove).

  4. vamos i am glad you found the info about how to write a check, to whom you mail (Department of Homeland Security), tht you include in the memo Alien number and I-751, etc.   I hope your example helps others to really search this wonderful website and you can find almost all you need.  There is a wonderful section that step by step assist you in the best way to assemble your packet, with Acco fasteners, etc.

  5. Everything depends on your relationship with your future ex.  It would be better if he would actually back you up in a declaration that while you were married, it was a bona fide marriage.  Remember that what they are looking is for the initial impression of the marriage while it lasted, and that there was no intention to deceive.  Maybe he would cooperate.  Even then, if you can prove a bona fide marriage initially as well as commingling of funds, it should be approved.

  6. Only one check will suffice, but make sure to write in the right amount, and address it to the right agency.  There is a section on this website dedicated to the way to write a personal check, what you write in the memo, and under fees, you can check for the latest fees. Make absolutely sure you have all the correct info. Do not staple the check.
Again, there is a info on how to complete your packet properly.  Please search and thou shall find.
