FWIW, I don't see it being selfish at all to encourage children to learn a different language and culture. Just the opposite! What an incredible opportunity for a child! I feel that my own life has been enriched more than I ever would have imagined completely above and beyond the benefit of meeting my fiancee. I would love to have been able to give my children the opportunity that ONA describes. I hope she follows through and does it!

What are you insinuating about the December K1 Filers at CSC? That they're doing ours and stopped working on Dec I-130s? If so, I would appreciate you not use the Dec K1's as an excuse for your waiting pains. TWO DIFFERENT CATAGORIES. That's like saying, the Dec B1/B2 Filer's are getting approved and they stopped working on the Dec IR1/ CR1's... blah blah" Nonsense.
Are you aware of the November 2010 transfer of 36,000 cases of immediate family petitions (IR-1/CR1) that were transfered from CSC to TSC and then some back to CSC in Feb 2011? Those filers were from LAST SUMMER: June, July and August IR1/ CR-1's 2010 --- some of them waited over 6-7 mos for their NOA2. That backlog seems to be catching up now and you should be glad you didn't file in those months; your wait would be much worse than it is today! Ask any of them what it was like.

That's where the backlog is and what got your group stopped up. Not us. Further, you should be happy for anyone who gets an approval and congratulate, instead of a seemingly negative nancy attitude towards our group specifically as you pointed out, because you do not have yours...YET!
By the way, we have many K1's still waiting, just like you. Doesn't matter to us whether they be from VSC or CSC, they're still Dec K1's. Everybody waits. USCIS says their goal time is 5+ mos and that is not a promise, it's an estimate.
When you do get yours, you will see many people from the VJ Family congratulate you and it won't matter which category or service center they come from either.
So take it easy and hang in there!!
IT IS COMING and PROBABLY RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
    Good Luck,
    Mari

I suggest he get the best price he can from an attorney and then let me give him the right answers for half price.
Lawyers do not "handle" anything on a daily basis. Their clerks fill in forms with information you give them and they read the same instructions you can read right here. There are no tricks, no schemes and no court appearances. You fill out some papers and present them. Lawyers do not go to interviews where income is precented and no one meets about it. Your fiancee presents the I-134 you give her, they take it in the back office, study everything and come out to ask her questions...almost never about finances

How do you know he is incapacitated?
If he is able to find this site, he is able to do it himself. It doesn't take much to sponsor someone on a K1. You don't have to be a genius to follow the guides and fill out some forms. He is obviously willing to ask questions and seek answers on a site where most of his questions can be answered. He knows he can and will find a job if needs be. Fortunately for him, he already has assets that exceed the minimum requirements, so he doesn't really need to worry about that as far as the first stage is concerned.
For a person in his situation, hiring a lawyer is throwing money away.

If you have a problem with things people say, perhaps you're better off sending a pm, rather than posting it in a forum where they will only bother to look if they were woken up at 5am and can't fall back asleep.

Yep, in the beginning you check constantly. Then about month 2 you taper off because you know you have a while to wait. Then at month 4 you start back up again. Then at month 5 you start going insane and make USCIS your homepage

It's not difficult for them to confirm who they're talking to. The parents would know information about the petitioner that an average person, even a close friend, probably wouldn't know. Would you know the petitioner's father's birthday and where he was born? No, and neither would I, but the petitioner's father would and so would USCIS. It's written on the petitioner's G-325A.
I don't know about the consulate in Honduras, but the FPU at some consulates make a habit of calling the relatives of the petitioner and beneficiary. If they get even a hint from any of the relatives that the relationship is a sham then they'll deny the visa. They might take derogatory information from an ex-spouse with a heavy grain of salt, but they would tend to think that the petitioner's parents wouldn't have a motive to lie.

We got married at the court house with my family in attendance. Then we went to a few local parks where my mom took photos. That evening, we had a nice dinner alone at the revolving restaurant on the river.
Cheap and easy. The story of my life.
If her family is there, do what you can to get it done. Even if it's not perfect, a "semi-good" wedding with her family is better than the perfect wedding without.

I may be too late but I came back from Russia last week and flew through Sheremetyevo. They opened up at the end of July the walkway between all terminals. It is SUPER easy, quick, and free to walk between D E & F. No more dealing with the annoying taxi drivers (on my way to Russia the walkway was not open and I paid $20 for a ride between F & D) Plus they have free luggage carts. If I can do it with a 3 year old in tow anyone can do it . I do speak Russian but it was not necessary to know the language because everything is written in English too.
