Hello,
My wife just attended her interview at the US Embassy in Manila and her Visa was approved. Question 1: What do we need now to get her out of the country. I was made aware of the Pre Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO). I was also curious if she needs a Emigration Clearance Certificate(ECC). Question 2: I have two children, born in the Philippines and never exited country, that have Philippine and USA Passports. Do I need to acquire an ECC for them? And is there anything else required to get for the children to exit the country.
Thank you for your comments.
Gregory Hall
Hey congratulations to you. Do you remember how fast you were able to get the CFO scheduled after you got her visa?
thank you!

Hello,
We recently got our interview letter and have booked the medical. We are now trying to to schedule the new VAC Biometrics step in Manila on the USVisaScheduling site (hope we are correct in doing this). We've created a profile and started but once we get to the step where it asks for the NVC Case number we put the case number and it comes back as invalid so we cannot continue. Have seen a couple of other posts on social media that have had this same issue but haven't seen a solution yet.
Also just to clarify, is the new USVisaScheduling site in lieu of the old PortalUSTravelDocs site? When we try to login at the old site it just redirects to the login screen. Thanks!
we had the same issue, we submitted a ticket in the vac application- a day later it worked... our status says in transit

Congratulations!!! It seems like submitting a K3 tends to mean they look at the I130 "faster"!
Thank you! I think so. As long as there is no RFE in the middle of it, it may help speed it up. unfortunately, once it gets to nvc, its back to the snail speed.

The Utah Online Marriage is valid for all those items you listed. My marriage with Filipino wife is Legal in Philippines and United States. Though getting the Report of Marriage completed is quite a journey on its own. I made a post about my process that you can utilize or share for others to utilize. I had no issues in the entire process, like everything in the Philippines don’t expect it to be done in a month.
hope this helps!
Hey there- do you have a link to the post you made regarding your experience with the process for the rom?
Thanks
Cheers

Thank you for the replies. The woman who gave me the information IS a liar and the only reason I got what information I got was because of her husband when he checked her phone calls on line. Someone took her to the airport 2 hours away and provided her a cell phone. I don't think the police would do that.
You may be right as far as her going to a shelter. We briefly talked to one of my friends and they had a private conversation with serious looks on their faces. She hugged her and said she would take care of her. Maybe that was where the 2 hour ride came from. I was told she just wanted to leave and not get me in trouble.
She knew my financial situation before she came. I explained everything thouroughly. I told her about my family situation and that there had to be some contact with the ex-wife. Everything was ok with the Kids until she demanded their family pet dog was sent off. Then, a break down occurred where I was in the middle having to take sides.
I think her expectations were very high. Her friend was always talking about going to the gym and beach and riding her bicycle to the store when she wanted. She wanted such a life and I could not provide it due to limited funds and location. She could not drive and get out to meet people and wanted to pick her own friends.
Yes. There are 2 sides to every story.
She is home now and said she would write. Perhaps she will tell me really what happened and will tell me what. she wants.
Thanks for the responses.
I understand.. I hope you do well, I hope she does well.. Take care of you, your kids, your life. Best regards

Jandk you said " i would personally settle for an American woman, they can put up with that kind of behavior from you", which rock did you crawl out of?. There is no one single freaking difference between american and foreign women. Character has no face or nationality.
First of all, calm down, to be truthful there is a HUGE difference with the way the women are in America and the way the women are in other countries with the exception of a few. You obviously haven't spent the time to know either culture. I have heard this story time in and time out not only from the OP but from others in the same situation. It's a sad situation to be in, I think I went through that when I was like 15yrs old. As you get older/wiser you will know that you have to not classify all religion/culture the same as the rest, because what one believes in and the experience that each individual goes through in life, may vary from person to person
One's personality includes a set of mental characteristics which reflect the way in which a person thinks, acts and feels. Therefore, heredity establishes the limits of one's personality traits that can be developed, while the environment - represented by the cultural, social and situational factors - influence the actual development within the limits.
Hope you rest easy. OP let her go...I don't come here to sugar coat the situation...But with OP's situation, you may not be able to provide her with that she needs and wants..Call her selfish but then again I would call her smart for leaving.

Sorry this happened to you...There is always 2 sides of the story and I dont think she will end up coming on VJ to vent her frustrations. She obviously didn't love you enough to stay and work it out. Sounds like she was young and naive, at the same time I/we are not sure where she is from but sounds like their expectations over all were high. Did you maybe set her expectations to high before her coming here? Sometimes women from other countries require some patience and understanding from your part.. IF indeed you showed her a different side of you, and if indeed her kind of behavior frustrated you, i would personally settle for an American woman, they can put up with that kind of behavior from you, but also your children. It seems us Americans are used to it. Hope everything else is good...take care.

i just booked my wife's ticket for PAL through mangotours.com under 1000 for her and my son. if your mother is a first time immigrant, she will get a discount just tell mangotours that, i think if it was just my son, my wife's airfare would cost only 690 usd 12 1/2 hr flight non stop
just to add she is on the plane headed for LA now

Hey Armenia,
I just wanted to add my opinion for that site.. IT STINKS! it asks for UID, passport, etc etc.. and the CO never gave us this information after her interview...
We got her visa about 4days after the interview, 2go called her on the phone on the 4th day to confirm delivery of her visa/passport/and the sealed brown envelope.

Anybody can share us how much the FedEx courier charge to send documents from Philippines to US.
Thank you and God Bless.
HaroldJucy
Harold... Fedex it cost me 45$ to send documents in a fedex envelope. this was 3 months ago. For majority of the documents i emailed them to my wife and it was cheaper to have her print them out. but for the documents that need signature i would just send those.. it came with a tracking number, and they called my wife when they were on their way.. hope it helps.. btw setup a fedex account no charge and they give you a discount
Goodluck

heres the website where you can track your visa it comes with tracking no. or your case no.
http://www.af2100.com/tracking/usembassy/
what happened to me is I kept tracking my visa every single day since nov. 23 I even call to their hotline
but they keep telling me that my visa is still in the embassy and they haven't forwarded it yet but when I call
Nov. 25 9 am they still said my visa still not in their system yet so I asked them if their system is updated they say yes....
then nov. 25 11am a courier from air21 came to deliver my visa hehehe.... funny right??? i think their system is really upated hehehe
congrats...
Thanks for the effort.. this no longer applies since the USEM is going with 2GO and not Air21 anymore
-
I apologize. I thought USEM Manila exclusively uses Air21 for sending passports/visas.
Here's the site for tracking 2GO packages.
Let me know if it works.
sweet thanks.. yeah they changed that Dec 1st i believe.. when I try and go on the site you provided it gives me an option to track my passport/visa but they are asking for this :
AWB or CN No. is the 9-character document number at the upper right
corner of the AWB or CN form
hmmm confusing non the less.. i also tried going to "www.ustraveldocs.com/ph" and they ask for passport AND a UID number.. thats real confusing they really dont make this that simple. Embassy hotline is always busy.
-
You can track your visa via Air21 US Embassy Visa tracking.
Congratulations on your approved visa!
Thanks you
One thing I have a question towards air21 tracking... Can we track through Air21 even though the Embassy uses 2go? And if so what specific website would you use to track it..?
-
yeah!
:P
My wife mentioned of the "Pink Slip," its still there.. they didnt give her any take home papers/envelope.. they said 2go will deliver passport and visa to her house..
-
So, we had the interview on dec 6th 2010, and we are waiting patiently
for the visa... The CO told my wife that her "tracking" number for the visa is her casenumber, BUT what he failed to tell us was WHERE we can go to track it.. 2go customer service isnt very helpful. Anyone have an idea of how to track the Visa .. ?
-
Sweet, your approved and now you have to get your loved one to the states.. Well, after countless googling and searching for a good price for a 1 way ticket.. I finally found one under 1,000 lol. After reading up on how everyone else managed to get this part. I started to ask travel agencies for a "First time Immigrant Discount!" and thats exactly what I got.. 200 off my wife's plane ticket
I went through www.mangotours.com and called them for the best price. goodluck to you guys 650$ for her ticket from MNL to LAX

Congratz!! your wife and mine must have had the same one on the 6th of dec(Phil time) she was also approved

1 Thing I did want to mention is that usually the RIGHT pinay would actually give 100% to the relationship. Tahoma hit it right when he said.. "Dont give up on filipina"
Wife just acquired her USA Visa. Question about her exiting country.
