I want an idea of about how long it takes to get your visa in the mail after the interview. Please post with your
interview date, the date your visa arrived in the mail, the city the visa was sent to, and if there were any complications delaying
the visa right after the interview (missing documents etc.)
My wife has an interview on December 13th and I am booking tickets for the 22nd. I have heard it takes 3 to 7 days to get the visa by
Air21, and we are just in Quezon City. What do you guys thing about my specific case as well?
Thank you very much I am sure this info will be helpful to others as well.
Hey I thought I would update you with this.. USEM in Manila uses 2GO company for delivery of visa. Also, I talked to their customer service over the phone the other day (Dec 1st) and they told me that my wife would have her visa in 3 days after she was to get approved. ALSO according to the website the fee to deliver is included in the IV fee.(i will double check with embassy on monday, dec 6th.) I asked the 2GO company about Air21, and they told me that they no longer do the delivery of the visa or passport

Good day all! I have read throughout the forums of people on a IR/CR-1 visa process getting to the Embassy interview and the cons requesting a *NEW* cenomar due to theirs expiring.... Anyone know the reason or logic behind this one??? Cenomar of singleness.. but we are married.... Doesnt really make ANY sense to me, but with our interview date coming up Dec 6th it has become a concern.. Thanks!

On top of the certificate is (Advisory on Marriage) AKA CENOMAR
The e-Census (www.e-census.com.ph) calls it a CENOMAR, Certificates of No Marriage. According to its website CENOMAR (Singleness)
A Certificate of No Marriage Record(CENOMAR) is simply what its name implies. It is a certification issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) stating that a person has not contracted marriage. The NSO is the central repository of among others, marriage records in the Philippines. It receives copies of marriage certificates from local civil registrars pursuant to the duty of the person solemnizing the marriage to send the duplicate and triplicate copies of the marriage certificate not later than fifteen days after the marriage, to the local civil registrar of the place where the marriage was solemnized.
So, saying that... "Advisory of Marriage is the same as a CENOMAR", is not entirely correct sir.. To make your statement correct and have a point.. a CENOMAR CRS FORM 4 IS FOR THOSE THAT ARE SINGLE, and A CRS FORM 5 - ADVISORY OF MARRIAGES. TECHNICALLY it would be two different forms. IF someone goes into a NSO office and ask for a CENOMAR what do you think they will give them? A typical CENOMAR CRS FORM 4. NOW if someone goes into a NSO office and asks for an ADVISORY of MARRIAGES(for those that are married) what do you think they would give them then?! You got it.. CRS FORM 5. So when you say things like
On top of the certificate is (Advisory on Marriage) AKA CENOMAR.This broad statement would confuse people going through the visa process looking for the correct answers. Here is another example of what your above sentence should read.
On top of the certificate is (Advisory on Marriage) AKA CRS FORM 5.To sum this 1-on-1 up. For anyone going through the process please ask for a CENOMAR(for cases where your on a K-1 visa journey) or ADVISORY of MARRIAGES(for those going through IR/CR-1 visa journey.)
Thanks for your time.

I'm sure the NSO staff in Manila is overloaded with requests, and may take longer then an office in the provinces. But you will find many people have received the cert mush faster then five day's time..
Well I think countries may differ.. Philippines informed my wife she can get a Cenomar if she was single OR an Advisory of Marriage since she is married. Since we aren't in the "province," how long it takes doesn't matter, she isn't going to travel to a province to get a Advisory of Marriage because others may be able to bribe someone for a faster service(if that applies.) We asked for an expedited service but they don't offer it.. 5 working days only. If this applies to anyone just heads up.. 5 days before the interview is a good thing! not 4 like us
-
For the future for anyone going through this part... they dont offer a "CenMar" at the NSO in Manila ... its called "Advisory of Marriage." You cannot obtain this document any sooner then 5 working days, per policies from the NSO in Manila.

I read about the new procedures earlier this morning, but I'm not far enough along in the process yet to try it out.
Is this the page where you tried to register the delivery address? http://www.ustraveld...nstruction.aspx
I can get all the way to the point where they ask for the passport number and case number, etc. ( can't proceed further because i don't have case # yet).
I do find it odd that it's a .COM website and not a state department or USCIS website (.GOV, etc.).
George
Hey George-
Yeah man, very frustrating that they implement these new things that don't work effectively. The passport #....? WHO's passport mine or hers? Case Type Number??? What is this.. little more detail on where to obtain this number.. in our case it would be typical the number starting with MNL.. going to save us a headache and just call the contact number they have for out there.. i will post in a few minutes about the information they give us.. >.<

Ok well the process for the visa appointments are a drag the website doesnt fully work, and its hard to contact anyone in regards to it.........
Direct quote from USEMBASSY/Manila
I saw this quote and it refers to our situation because these went into effect Dec. 1st 2010, and our interview is for Dec 6th, 2010.
"Immigrant visa applicants who have been scheduled by the NVC for a visa appointment at the Embassy are required to visit the online appointment website to register their delivery address."
http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph (you cant register a new address as well as their online chat doesnt work properly.)
Anyone else running into this problem?

Don’t forget the CFO and or sticker, after she receives the visa!
yeah she mentioned that she did the Seminar, just waiting for the Visa to get the stamp.
-
takes a couple of hours!!!!
ok awesome gonna have her go there tuesday
-
. For my wife it was less then a day to pick up the cert. As for the visa you will need a good explanation as why your requesting the pick-up at the embassy in 'most' cases. Frequently beneficiary receive the visa in 3-5 day.
less then a day?? wow not sure why people or sources says upto 15 days

You can now avail of a CENOMAR through the internet. The e-Census (www.e-census.com.ph) is an online facility that allows you to submit requests for Certificates of No Marriage. According to its website, for local requests, for copy issuance for CENOMAR (Singleness)
But in my option I would go in person.
Thanks and comes to find out we need one titled "Cenmar,' I guess a NSO stamped copy of the marriage certificate isnt good enough as well as her Cenomar (Dated 8/2009) for the consular. I ordered 2 copies of the cenomar one in her maiden name and one in her married name, i dont think its going to get there in time for the interview though, so I guess we are going to go there, see what they require and go from there, if they require this EXTRA documentation then at least it will be there a day or two after the interview so we can easily submit it right away........ and I wonder if they have the option to allow her to just pick up the Visa instead of waiting for Air21 to deliver it..? Thanks guys

We had our interview in October. We had all the things you mentioned but only the guard asked for them. Still, it's better to have too much than not enough. The one thing that caused us a 3 week delay was the CENOMAR. The cenomar we had was expired. If you don't have a recent cenomar, I recommend getting one. My wife had to go to Pasay City to get one and then wait 3 weeks for the visa to be delivered Air21... (which they never delivered and forced her to travel 3 hours to the neighboring province to pick it up. It's the one thing that the Consular requested during the interview.
Was there an explanation for your wife having to get a Cenomar.. if your married??

I called NVC tonight and the operator told me my husband was not scheduled for December, and they're done giving out schedules for that month. Our case was completed on October 13th. I thought we would've been able to have a December interview but I guess not. I feel like only a few F2As made it for December.
Does anybody know what happened? Any insights would be helpful. I'm really disappointed that we're not spending the holiday together.......
Hey kim, we have an interview on Dec 6th. I believe we got "Case Complete" in October as well. Good luck to you guys
Hi kim! I feel you.
I'm also waiting for a f2a visa interview schedule, it's hard to wait, so near yet so far..
Let's keep on praying. God will provide. God bless us!
oops sorry wrong type of interview.

I'm crossing my fingers for you guys in the hope that her x-ray comes out clean...best of luck!

Hi everyone: I met my girlfriend on "Filipino kisses". I visited the Philippines in October and we got engaged. I have not filed the I-129f yet.
I believe it is line #19 that asks if I used an international marriage broker. When I research it on the internet it seems that "Filipino Kisses" meets
the definition of an International marriage broker as defined in the IMBRA law. It also says that a marriage broker is supposed to search "Sex offender public
registries" and collect information from me, and pass it on to the girl I want to contact before they give me the information to contact her.
I know Filipino kisses didnt do any of this stuff. I have not been convicted of any crimes mentioned on the 129F and I wouldnt show up in any Sex offender
registry. However I am worried that My petition could be denied since Filipino Kisses didnt follow their rule. The Wikipedia article on IMBRA says this is
a possiblility.
I would think if this was the case that I could find all kinds of yelling and screaming on the internet from people like me who have had a good faith relationship for 6 months or more and then find out about this IMBRA law.
I would like to hear from other people who have met on similar sites that dont follow IMBRAS guidelines.
I did see an old post on Visa Journey called "IMBRA RFE question 1" but it seems that is from 2006.
Assuming that Filipino Kisses meets the definition of International Marriage Broker. And they did not comply with IMBRA. Do I need to apply for some type of waiver? Will I be permently denied?
I would realy like to hear from someone who used Fillipina kisses and then applied for a visa.
Thanks
Dan
find a different way in which you guys met.. yahoo is a good way of meeting... imbra was designed from jealous american women that were mad that american men were replacing them with beautiful pinays.. <True Story>

Hye, so we have an interview coming up.. After receiving packet 4 for a cr-1.... it mentions that i would need to bring in an AOS along with everything else on the list...
If NVC acknowledges my AOS and it clearly states on the letter, has anyone NOT brought the EXTRA AOS? seems redundant.

I believe your wife is finished with the psych stuff. I agree with godsgift, I think it's only the beneficiaries who had their marriages annulled based upon their psychological incapacitation who are required to undergo the more rigorous psych test. The doctor at St. Lukes would have told your wife already if she were required to undergo more psych testing.
However, your wife is still not in the clear. When she returns to St. Lukes, that's the time when she will learn whether or not she will be required to return three days in a row to leave sputum samples. If the doctor found any abnormality on her chest x-ray, she will be required to return to St. Lukes three days in a row to leave sputum samples. The sputum samples are used to perform a TB smear test and also a TB culture.
If this happens, then she will learn the results of the smear test after a few days. She will learn the results of the culture in about eight weeks. When her culture results come back negative, then she will return to St. Lukes for her immunizations, and St. Lukes will reschedule her interview.
On the other hand, if her chest x-ray is clean, then she will simply get the vaccinations and will be finished with her medical.
Good luck!!!
Hey tahoma abd godsgift thanks for the input there I agree with you that we may be done with the psych stuff like you said that it would have been told if there was more involved... Now the 3day test thing is one I was going to be concerned of we can just hope that it comes out negative... My opinion it will be negative, but I can't predict that outcome! I will post again when tuesday or wednesday comes around to fill you all in on the results.. If I dwell on it anymore I will go crazy myself haha take care ill respond next week!

result of what? of the psych eval? if that's the case then she is still not sure if she will gonna do the psych test or not right???? but u know since i got here, i didnt read a case of applicant that has a scar who did a psych. test... but lots of annulled women did the psych eval and test... well lets hope not... good luck...
btw... annulled women who are found psych. incapa. are at once sched. for third opinion.. i think one of the reason is that, when they did the psych test on the annulment their psych doctor are not accredited by slec... aside from they want to make sure the stability of the applicant's mind..
i believe the results of the medical entirely is what we are now waiting for... possibly that sputum test results.. i wonder why its 2-3 days for results instead of most i read about "they get the results the next day." Possibly because the psych eval was included..maybe? i would think that if they wanted her to undergo further tests they would have told her right then and there, just like they do to the women who has been annulled. But, im not St Luke's or a Doc for that matter.. All I can do is hope its all good and follow up afterwards..
-
hi jandk, well it depends on the result of her psych evaluation... there is someone who has same experienced like ur wife, but she didnt go to a psych test... only the psych eval at slec...
ah i see.. well with my wife, she did the psych eval and wasnt told she had to take a test... all she was told was to come back in that 2-3 days to get her results and to do her immunization.. the dr. was also asking my son if he is going to be with me for xmas

Hello All!
I was lucky enough to spend 7 months (I studied there) with my fiance in his country (Morocco). I returned home (US) 3 months ago. I'm trying to keep myself busy with work and school (I'm a university student), but still feel distracted with this waiting process. It's hard for me to feel focused or grounded in the things I do now that I'm home. I think part of what I'm experiencing is reverse-culture shock and the other part is simply missing my fiance. I'm curious about how you all have managed to keep focused, positive, and patient while your loved one(s) are so far away. I look forward to hearing any of your anecdotes, stories or tips!
Skype, and work is working for me, i left my laptop to my wife and pay for her to have internet so we always have that communication level.
-
well then let's pray that the result of her psych evaluation is ok so she will not go for 3rd opinion (psych test), probably the others who was told to get 3rd opinion are annulled women who found spychological incapacitated, usually they are the one who are recommend to get a 3rd opinion...
Hey Godsgift
She thinks it was a positive experience.. do you think in your opinion that if she wasnt informed to go through a 3rd opinion at that time, that its a good think?

Hi Guys!
I got SIF on Nov. 14 (US time).
I called called NVC on the 16th and I was told that case is under final review. I called again the next day (17th) and the operator said the whole "Your case has been completed" spiel. When I asked her when it was completed, she said it's in the final stages. So I got confused. I called again today, the 18th and the agent said it's still under final review and I should just wait for the interview letter.
Has any of you experienced this?? My hubby, especially my MIL got so excited when I told them about CC. I don't wanna let them down in case there's another RFE. =/
hey there Aur,
We went through the same process, and they do tell you to wait 6-8 weeks but if you look at my signature under this you will see the most accurate time frame in which we got our case completed by NVC and when we received the letter, but its different with each case and when it gets approved... by the way mine came to our email. About this time, start preparing for the medical exam, and make sure you have your ducks in the row. Start looking up the process for St. Lukes, and tell her to expect to be real early. my wife got there at 6:45am and she was #98, and waiting nearly all day.. some people were told to come back the next day.
Good luck

Yeah that sucks that you found text messages.. to be honest the girl sounds young and naive. You sound mature and wanting a mature relationship with her, but she rather not be honest with you from the start that she got here. Like previous posters had mentioned.. 1. She isn't a toy, you cant return her because you think she is broken, and 2. Dont try and demand or control what she should do. If you ask me, I would go out, make plans with her to have some exploration. I am not to sure on how far and how well you know her, but get to know each other.. IF the things that your finding out esculate, then I would mention to her what a marriage is all about, honesty loyalty, respect, and dignity. And let her know nicely that if she cant come around to a mature relationship then maybe its best if she goes back.. you HAVE to go after what you need and want. In a relationship/marriage, you CANT expect 1 side to go 100% give give give.. If she cant go that 50+% to you, then let her know about finding that right person on her own time, especially with the text messages.
Were these text messages from Philippines? If so dont mind it. My wife dont have too many boyfriends to worry about, she is a "to herself" but if she did any of what you mentioned.. I would really sit down, have a heart to heart and let her know what you expect out of relationship, and I would ask her what she expects.. meet in the middle... good luck and let us know the outcome..
