  1. Okay...our check was cashed on 6/6/2012---I can't view the check image though...it's not available on the ebanking website of my bank. But we still didn't receive our NOA 1 yet....hubby's GC is expiring 6/14/2012....I'm planning to call USCIS on Monday if I still didn't see the NOA1 tomorrow (saturday)... anyone know a good phone number to call USCIS to find out the status? I'm so worried as his GC is expiring so soon and without the NOA1, he can't travel or anything... :(

    USCIS# 1-800-375-5283 :)

  2. Called USCIS about my Biometrics appt today. Got through to a helpful Tier 2 officer who told me that my appointment has been scheduled and that I should receive the notice any day. She couldn't tell me when it was mailed out though. Fingers crossed... hopefully the mailman didn't lose it!

Good luck to all others finally seeing some movement from CSC

    Congrats to everyone!!!

  3. Hello everyone,

My wife and step son's Conditional GC's expire on August 9, 2012. I sent out the I-751 package with a ton of evidence on May 16, 2012 to the VSC which arrived at the VSC on the 18th of May with a confirmation USPS receipt. Today is the 4th of June and I have not received anything nor has the check been cashed. I see alot of posts where at least the check has been cashed in a short period of time after the package was received. Starting to get a little worried. is this normal? The website instructs not to call until 30 days have past and no official receipt has been issued. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    (my opinion)

I would give it til June 18th and if there is no movement then I would call USCIS and put a bug in their ear. Don't worry too much (easier said then done I know!!!) We are all in my prayers!

  4. Hello,

I just called USCIS asked them to check on our change of address we filed online ( two AR-11's) She asked when and what we filed recently. She said they can't just look it up. But...when you file the I-751 she said it automatically updates your address in their system. Also...when we all receive the NOA we need to double check them to make sure everything is correct and if there are any errors on it...then we call 1-800-375-5283 and they will guide us on how to make the corrections. She also mentioned it may take up to 30 days to receive the receipt saying they received the I-751. I just wanted to put this out there just in case it would help anyone. Good Luck To All!!! :)

  6. Im confused on the 2nd anniversary, we should file for adjustment of status on the 2nd anniv. based on the green card's issue date right? so if my wife enters the us on july 2012 and issued a green card on the same month, we should apply for the adjustment july 2014?

The anniversary date is on the GC it is the date you entered the United States. Example...If you enter the USA on July 1, 2012 then you have to file to remove conditions 90 days before July 1,2014. Hope this helps.

  7. My interview wasn't til 9am. I got there at 7am anyway to clear my head, grab a coffee and a bite to eat. I headed up to the US consulate at 7:30am and all the old memories came back to my previous visa application when I was working on a cruise ship.

To my surprise, I wasn't the first in line. There were about 4 or 5 people ahead of me. However, once we got into the interview area itself, I got ticket #003.

It wasn't long until my number was flashing on the screen and I approached the desk, dropping half of my ####### along the way, and was greeted by a friendly English chap. We got straight to business by handing in the interview letter, and he immediately pressed me for the documents required to finish the gastly RFE. With great pleasure, I offloaded my police certificate and a bundle of my wife's and mother-in-law's IRS transcripts. He then asked me for my Medical... Uhhhh... :help:

"What? No, I had my medical last week, they posted it into here. All I have are my chest x-rays."

"That's fine", he said, "Would you mind getting X Y Z documents ready and I'll go look for your medical"

A few minutes passed and he returned to inform me that the medical had not yet arrived, and if the visa is approved, it won't be issued until the medical is received... My heart sunk. I was told to go sit down and wait for the interviewer to call me up. About 5 minutes passed and I heard my name "Michael to counter 7". Awesome!

I got up there, fumbling all my neatly piled evidence again, and greeted the young lady behind the desk grasping her "TEXAS" Coffee mug on this cold winter morning. Nothing else was said as she flipped through a bundle of the papers that looked oh too familiar. She dated, and signed a bunch, then asked me a few questions:

    1. Where did you meet your Wife, here or America?

    2. Did you get married here?

    3. Was it in a temple? (I believe she, too, was a Latter-Day Saint, but I did not ask).

    4. Are you going to be sealed in a temple?

    5. When did you join the Church?

    6. When was the last time you physically saw your wife? (I have only just returned from a 2 month stay in the US with her)

    7. Do you have any more recent evidence of your relationship? (I fumbled through more evidence and pulled out a few thin folders containing boarding passes, rental tenance agreements, joint bank accounts, etc.. I went to give her some more and she put her hand up to say "that's fine" I laughed a little. She laughed.)

She said "Well, thats it. Permitting we get your medical soon, we can begin processing your visa. "

"I had my medical last week, they said they would send it. If you receive it today or tomorrow, will I get notification that it has been received?"

"No", she said. Which was wierd because I didn't want to be at home stressing over whether it got there or not.

I thanked her a million times and a few tears fought through my eyes. Bastards! haha

I had my medical just down the street, so I went back to them to see what was happening. They jumped on the internet to see what was going on with the tracking and it was last updated at midnight last night, saying it was being processed. I got the receptionist to print that out, as well as another copy of the medical and went back to the consulate. I was in an out in about 5 minutes the second time which was good as I just dropped off the medical and explained they should get the other copy today or tomorrow.

I got home and called Australia Post. They said it would be delivered today.

Somewhere in between all the mess, my Wife called me and I told her the great news. We both cried over the phone and I had to let her go as she was in rehearsals for her upcoming show.

All in all... VISA APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  10. Tomorrow is our interview in Cairo and I will be by my husbands side. I really hope things go well and a special thanks (F) to Sarah, Sandra, Wendy and Jalan for helping me out with any questions I had throughout this process.

We are hoping for the best. My anxiety hasn't kicked in yet, but my husband is very anxious. Mind over matter, we just gotta be cool, calm and collective Also, just to relax and be ourself. We may be from different cultures, but we were passionately drawn together. I want to start a family and begin our lives together in my home country. We can only hope and pray for the support and blessings of the US Government.

    Sincerel
