    Approved - Query about getting card on time

    Keep an eye on how long it takes. Both my son and I got approved , got the hard copy in the mail saying that we had been approved. I got my card in a week we are still waiting on my sons card. Have been in touch with the number it gives on the letter and the girl said his had not even been ordered even though it shows that he has been approved. They put him back in the system with VSC and now we have to give them anothe 45-60 days...

    I know what you are all feeling I to had some of these feelings but not to the extent that you guys seem to be having. I still hate the fact that you have to work all your darn life just to afford health insurance here, but I belive that what was my turning point came in 2006. My son and I moved here in Aug 2005 and my daughter joined us in Dec 2005 then my worst year happened in 2006 , my mom died in Feb , my brother died in July and my dad died in Nov. With that, I decided there and then that America was now my home and I went for it. I might not like all things about it and might never like them but this was the choice I made , I love my husband dearly, I have my kids here , now have a grand daughter , my extended family is fantastic, I have plenty of my own friends now and a future in work that looks really good.

    Stay positive, never forget the past it has made you who you are today but dont give up on the future without a fight it makes you who you can be tomorrow

    I can understand the feelings a lot of you have and believe me we were prepared for a long wait. When we were getting our application sorted Kathryn told me to file it straight to VSC not TSC and when I looked on the USCIS site they too said to file to VSC not TSC. I dont know if this helped but our card was ordered on the 26th now we are waiting on getting them in our grubby lil mitts lol :D

    We had all of our upsets on the first AOS application including a letter of denial and were told to leave the country !!!!!

    As you can see we got that sorted out . Thank goodness.

    When I went to mail box today and saw 2 letters from the USCIS for my son and I my heart sank I honestly thought it was going to be an RFE with us only filing for this 4 months ago. I was so shocked and well pleased that it was a letter saying

    " congratulations your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent basis status has been approved. You are deemed to be a lawful permanent resident of the United States as of the date of your original admission or adjustment of status. You should receive a new Permanent Resident card ( green card ) within 60 days.

    OK now we can take a lil breather till we go for our citizenships.

    Hope they keep working as quick for all who are still waiting

    i-751 denied ! help

    Hey there, an infopass is deff the way to go. 2 years ago when I was waiting to go for my AOS interview I got letters and emails from the USCIS saying that it had been canceled and that we would get a new date shortly. Then we got a letter saying that our application had been denied and had to leave the country due to us not showing up for the interview. We made an infopass appointment for 3 days later. I went and explained to my employers and stopped work till after the appointment ( this was my choice ). We took all of our proof saying that the interview had been cancled and showed it to them. They said sorry and that as it was their fault they would re-open our case with no charge to us. Yes we got approved and now going for the 10 yr green card.

    I do hope that you are able to sort out this mess and that you get approved, just stay positive and gather all your proof before you go.

    VSC I-1751 Status List

    My husband got his approval letter yesterday. It was the most unofficial looking notice ever! Also, it stated the actual date of approval was 10/17/08 (not the 10/21/08 that showed up online). So...I am updating the info. The letter said it could take 60 days to receive the new card!

    Oh well here we go again . It has been so good not having to worry about immigration for 2 years but we are back in the system once more. My cousins from the UK have just gone back home after spending 2 great weeks here with us and it was so nice spending our 3rd Anniversary with them. Sure gonna miss them :crying:

    Got the I-751 mailed yesterday so now we just sit and wait for news. Put in as much info, proof and pics as we could maybe then we will get approved without an interview, after the mix up with the last interview. :thumbs:

    Will be back on here alot now so I can get you guys to refresh my memory on how to check on our progress.

    OK I know I havent been here for a while but have been so busy in new life just had time to come and check on people just not chat or post but Yep I am back with the immigration bit again . This is just a quick question to see if I have understood what they have written on the Gov site this is what i have found on fees

    The filing fee for a Form is $465.00

    An additional biometric fee of $80.00 is required when filing this Form I-751. After you submit Form I-751, USCIS will notify you about when and where to go for biometric services.You may submit one check or money order for both the application and biometric fees, for a total of $545.00.

    NOTE: Each conditional resident dependent, eligible to be included on the principal applicant's Form I-751 and listed under Part 5 of Form I-751, is required to submit an additional biometric services fee of $80.00, including dependents residing overseas pursuant to military or government orders, regardless of age.

    Am I to understand that I have to pay $465 + $80 bio-metrics for me and $465 + $80 bio-metrics for my son but just put him in part 5 on the form

    My ,now ,hubby and I started visits to see in 2003 and it was 2005 before the visa came through and we moved here in Aug... we used to have 2 weeks together every 6 months but the wait was worth it ...and it gave us time to make sure that this was what we really wanted...
