I think truemetal is mostly concerned because they seem to be one of the last CSC filers to not get an approval yet, just like Alan was a few weeks back. It's common that people who applied in January from VSC have not been approved yet, but for CSC that's incredible.. unless I'm wrong. I'm sorry, truemetal.. maybe you can do what Alan did and write to your congressman? The worst that can happen is a no, but be persistent if you have to.. good luck, wishing you all the best.

I was kind of surprised they picked it up so quickly again since on the RFE it said it would take at least 14 days before they'd return to the case.. but it only took 3 since they received it on Monday. Then again, I don't think any of us are too surprised that their numbers can be a little exaggerated.. maybe a VSC angel out there is looking out for me.

VSC is processing our case again after the RFE so we're hopeful. I think we're one of the last late Jan filers to get an approval so February should be picking up very soon.. best of luck to everyone!

I was just on my break at work today and I received a text that my case had updated. I checked and they received the RFE response and are continuing to process the case! I'm hoping the next time I get to use that emoticon will be when we're approved. I can feel it coming soon enough!

I'm so very sorry for your loss, Alan. If you're the religious type, you know that she's in a better place, and if you're not, at least you know she's no longer suffering and is finally at peace. We will always continue to support you as much as you support all of us. I know you and your girls will be reunited sooner than ever and after time things will feel happy like they should. That's actually a pretty common RFE, many people have posted that they've missed answering that question on the I-129F.

Good news is that as soon as they receive your response they'll finish procssing your petition. I'll bet you an ice cream cone that you have your NOA2 7 days after they receive your response!

Yeah, I think I was just confused as it was under the military section, but I guess I was so stressed out when filling it in that I skipped it completely.. and over again.. and over again.. and so on. But it's all fixed now and I already sent it with UPS so it will be there guaranteed by 10:30 AM Monday, with signature and confirmed delivery. I don't mess around when sending my stuff to the government. We're happy now and I feel like I can rest easy for the first time in months. Come on, VSC, you can do this! Thank you everyone again for supporting me during my stressed out insanity, I don't know what I'd do without VJ.

Whether or not I've been convicted of a crime/military cirme/etc. I don't know why I must have missed something so stupid, or that I didn't catch it when I looked over the packet a thousand times, but I'm SO GLAD it was just something dumb on my half. :) I'm sending the response today while it's still early via UPS so it will be in Vermont by MONDAY. I feel so relieved. My fiance is ecstatic, too. I'm feeling a little bashful but oh well. Is that an approval I smell on the way?

joey freaks out every time someone seems to get their NOA2. sends me texts or calls me. the day before yesterday, he came home from work and nearly ran into the apt to tell me the poor girl had gotten an RFE. my heart sank. i hope being that we've a history of 17yrs...will see our case through smoothly enough *keeps fingers crossed for everyone*

I thought our almost 5 years would be enough, too, but VSC is a fickle mistress. I'm sure yours will go smoothly. I'm 99% sure my RFE is a missed signature or something equally dumb like that, because if they honestly have the audacity to ask for more evidence that we've been in the same place at the same time while I sent them pictures and visa evidence of us being in: New Jersey, Washington DC, Denmark, England, and more.. they've got another thing coming.

Yeah, it's just more of a pain than anything. I'm still glad they at least noticed my case and didn't just decide to forget it and let it collect dust. An RFE is better than having to wait the full 5 months without a single touch. Congrats on the visa in hand, the picture is adorable.

They only like touching when they feel like being mean. Jerks.

Our case got touched again today.. maybe they're reconsidering the RFE? Just hopeful thinking, but kind of weird, I thought when they send an RFE they put the case on hold. Stop playing with my heart, VSC.

Thanks for the support. We think it has to be something small.. we've been together for almost 5 years, we had plenty of evidence, so who knows. I'll keep everyone posted as to what it's about and then we hope we're in for an NOA2 after.

Yeah, I met a few good friends from this Jan VJ family. It's kind of comforting to find people that are all stuck in the same boat wandering through this USCIS-DOS-NVC-USEM mess just so we can legally bring our loved ones home. I know just a few miles south from me, hundreds if not thousands of people cross the boarder illegally each day. Yet some of us must go through this madness for many months. But eventually we will all get through it and laugh about the process when we're old grey (some of us sooner than others ). Good luck on that RFE Lohninck. I'm sure it's a minor setback and you guys will be together for that summer wedding. We're also planning ours for July. And if any of you folks ever plan to be near San Diego, shoot me a message, maybe we could all go hang out at the zoo.

We're planning on going to California for our honeymoon in September since I was born in Anaheim and lived there for a while before we moved to the east coast, so we just might take you up on the offer! I miss Cali and we might move there when we can afford it.. NJ is too expensive to live in anyway so we might as well go where the weather is nice!

Add me to the list of RFEs, but we don't know why yet. It just feels really silly and we hope it means a quick NOA2 after we send it back in. VSC is killing us.

Thank you all so, so, so very much from the bottom of our hearts. Your support is keeping Peter and I happy. He tried to cheer me up in the best way he knows how, by making me laugh until I cry instead of crying for other reasons. We talked on the phone for 4 hours today, more than we usually do, and now that I've had 8 hours for it to sink in I'm feeling confident that it will easily be dealt with and we'll have our approval soon. I'm not sure how quick Denmark is when it comes to visas, but I've heard only good things from the Copenhagen Embassy, so we'll see. As long as he's here by July I'll be a happy girl. Thank you all again, you guys are the best and I hope we don't all lose touch once we have our hubbies and wives with us. (But they'd be a pretty convincing distraction!)

I am also scared we wl get one since my fiance sent the divorce cert with no stamps/seal..

I have no idea why yet, I got the text as I was trying on my wedding dress. Perfect timing! I'm almost 99% sure it's because we filled out something wrong, because neither of us have a criminal record, have been in the military, or have even been married before, and we've been together for almost 5 years so we had plenty of evidence. I'll be waiting by the mailbox every day now to see the reason and fix it and send it back ASAP.

But when I do find out I will let you know.

Again...sorry to hear....Well...I guess on the brighter side, you have your wedding dress , your know a status on your case (it's actually moving...albeit in the wrong direction but there's still movement) and you'll get through this RFE, just will take a few more weeks. Thanks. It's very bittersweet all together. I don't know if I'm more happy, relieved, upset, or straight up confused. I hope they send it quickly so we can figure out what we did to make the visa gods displeased and try to fix it ASAP. We both have clean criminal records, we were never married to anyone before, I've only ever been pulled over once and that was because my Mom's vehicle registration was expired. We'll see. Keep your fingers crossed for us for a bit longer, please, VJ.

Cross-posting from the Jan K-1 thread that we got an RFE today. I don't know what went wrong but we'll see soon enough. I got the notice just as I was trying my wedding dress on, too. Worst. Timing. Ever.

Well, guys, I got some bad news. We (my mother and I) took the 45 minute drive to get my wedding dress, parallel parked on a busy road, and as we were walking up to get my dress, I got a text from USCIS saying our case has been updated. My heart jumped, I manically brought up the website on my iPhone, put in the case number.. and saw the RFE mark. My heart sank. Of course there was no explanation for it, and a thousand thoughts flew through my head. I thought our package was flawless. I've been with my fiance for what will be five years in June, we had PLENTY of evidence.. I don't know what could have been wrong. Maybe we ticked the wrong box for something stupid. I have no idea, so I wasn't exactly feeling like a glowing, blushing bride in my (beautiful!) gown that fit perfectly, but it's all been bittersweet.

Once we get the package back, we'll see what we did wrong, and send it back NEXT DAY USPS with return receipt, and this has to mean that we'll get approved soon after, right? RFEs seem to have quick turnovers, and I'm at least relieved that my packet isn't collecting dust on someone's desk.. it just landed on the grumpy desk, it seems.

Oh, and to make this day even better, when I went out to get the mail, it began to hail. HAIL. All over my new haircut, too. I'm starting to get the feeling April 21st was not made for me. I'm trying to remain positive but it feels like a small kick to the stomach. It would have been too perfect to get approved on the same day as my wedding dress fitting, eh?
