  1. Don't concern yourself with those questions, or you might lose it! Seriously!

There's no "system" as how things are done. Best is to hope for the best, prepare to the worst, and get drunk in the process :P

True, very true. I'm a really worrisome person as is, so of course when it comes to my own marriage I'm already a nervous wreck, but I just have to hang in there and find consolation in booze, too, of course! I used to live in England for two years, I always tell my American friends I was "classically trained" when it comes to the art of alcohol.. my training might come in handy, hahaha. (not an alchie, I promise. Really!)

Thanks again though, while reading other stories and timelines of Oct/Nov/Dec VSCers both uplifts and depresses me, it's good to have support and know we're all in the same boat and will all hopefully get there eventually. :)

  2. Hang in there.

Party tonight on "SS December" though. Our ship's owner's birthday.

Bring a pint and settle in. Everybody is welcome :)

Hehe. I might need more than just a pint for this process, but I'll be partying, I promise! :P

Also, is there any explicable reason as to why VSC is so slow compared to the Californian one? Less employees? I could use a job, I wouldn't mind working on the VJers visas.. cough cough..

  3. Yeah, I feel both excited and worried as well. I have been reading the Oct/Nov/Dec filers and while most have their good news stories, there's still a few laggers that for no reason, other than government incompetence, are stuck in the long waiting process while filers months ahead are getting approved. I know me and my beautiful baby are staying upbeat and positive, but I also know that it could be a long journey ahead. We are bracing for a long wait and praying for a short one.

And my god! What is happening to VSC? When I filed in Jan, you guys were almost 10 days ahead of CSC, now it's fallen to about 16 days behind CSC.

I guess there's nothing we can really do for now but wait. It would probably help if I could see my fiancee, but at this rate I probably won't see him until May or June, blah.

I'm gonna guess that the blizzards we've had in the northeast haven't helped the process much. For a few days (at least in NJ) businesses were closed simply because they couldn't get enough employees in thanks to the snow. I'm not sure how bad it is in Vermont, but I know they get hit pretty hard too. February had 3 or 4 major snow storms, let's hope March is a bit more forgiving and that March brings plenty of approvals for both CSC and VSC!

  4. WHOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO I am with my fiance in the UK on a week's holiday - and checked my e-mail today to find a huge SURPRISE - On February 25, our I-129F Petition was approved!! Wow, and I was totally expecting to wait until the end of April to get that message!!! Now, we get to finish doing all the paperwork so when Packet 3 gets to him, we're ready to submit right away! Wow, this means he could possibly get to the U.S. before the flights get ridiculously expensive for summer - and be here by June, not September!

Whooooooo Hoooooooo!!! What a great birthday gift for him - today is his birthday!!!

    :dance::dance::star::star::dance::dance:

Congrats to everyone else who has received their NOA2 already, and good luck to everyone who is still waiting!

Wow, that's great! Congratulations to all of you so far! I hope the Vermont Service Center can get the lead out and speed up with these NOA2s as well, that would make everything perfect!

  5. Just dropping in to say I'm another VSC filer. They gave me a bit of a worry, taking their sweet time to cash the check and let me have the NOA1 in hand, but the receipt date was marked a day after it arrived, so that's good. I'm just wondering why it seems like some people get an email notification of it first and why others don't. I put my email on the form where it asks and everything. I guess some employees are lazier than others? Oh well.

One more question: when it says on the timeline "your I129f may be adjudicated between May 9, 2010 and May 14, 2010*," does that mean I'll get the NOA2 then or it will be sent to the foreign embassy or.. what? Thanks for the help, and I hope we all get our NOA2s asap RFE free.

  6. omg I'm glad someone else got as excited as I did when they got their NOA1..I started jumping up and down and then I started crying lol!! congratulations!!!

I felt the same way today when I got the mail! The mail was 2 hours later than usual too, but it was worth the wait. I don't think I've ever been so excited for a single piece of mail, hahaha. It's the best early birthday present ever! And by the way, I think maybe Vermont is racist against NJ since they seemed to take so long with ours.. haters. :P

  7. WooHoooo!!! Just checked the mail on my way home!!.....Thought for sure I had RFE because they haven't cashed check yet!! Got NOA1, received date of 1/27/2010....I mailed it out on 1/26/2010.. They haven't cashed the check yet...:) Go CSC!! I hope.....the rest is this good... Thanks to this site for a lot of knowledge!! According to the timeline ...if we have no RFE's ..we should be adjudicated by April 28 - May 10....!!

    Good luck everyone!!

That's awesome! I'm so happy for you! I hope this means good news for the rest of us! :)

  8. Hey...I'm feeling the same way! CSC received our K1 petition on Wednesday morning last week and still have not cashed my check. I get nervous when I see some people here getting checks cashed the next day after receipt of petition and getting their NOA1 at the same time and ours sitting there untouched. ANd I did write 129F on our envelope....:(

I'm just anxious to get a case number and finally get in the system que.... but they recieved ours on Jan 27 and it's Feb 1 now... and nothing....at least cash my check....let me know something is happening... Only how many days to go???

Well, if nothing else, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's been put on the back burner right now! I guess they're pretty bogged down and I can't blame them for taking a long time, but you know, something, anyyyything would be nice just to make sure I haven't ruined the whole application. I'm sure (or I'm hoping!) we're not the first people to have a bit of a long waiting time, but yeah, when I see the time lines for people that go so swiftly it makes me nervous. Ah well. Fingers crossed, right? If I don't hear anything by tomorrow I'm going to try and call their service line and see if I can get a hold of a normal person who wants to help. Fingers crossed for both of us! :(

  9. I'm checking out all these timelines with really quick NOA1s and I'm starting to get nervous.. they haven't emailed or mailed us anything and it's been 5 days since it arrived at the VSC. I'm only in NJ so it wouldn't take long for any mail to arrive. I know it's just petty worrying but I guess it's easy to worry about something when it's the love of your life, eh? I'm starting to really kick myself for the envelope screw up. Should I give them a call and hope for the best or should I just wait it out? Sorry for complaining, I'm just going to be nervous until I get the first NOA1.. I'll probably chill out after all that. I promise!

  10. You should be fine.....it'll just be sitting in the unsorted stack a few more hours.. No worries I think. The I-129F on the outside of the envelop just speeds up the initial sorting. They still have to open it up and hopefully you followed the excellent guides here and have a well put together petition... I am just happy to have our petition finally there and in the que!! I was kicking myself yesterday coz I did Priority Mail instead of Express overnight....and you know it still got there overnight... But yeah...you should be OK!!! Good luck on the rest of the madness!!

Thanks very much for the boost of reassurance! I followed the guide here to a T, must have quadruple checked the forms, spent hours making sure every last detail was perfect, and then wound up messing up on such a tiny detail. I really owe a lot to this site, when I first looked into the K-1 visa the website lead me to believe all I had to do was send in the I-129F and carry on.. nottttt so much the truth. Thank you again! Good luck with you as well! <3

  11. Hi again, I'll repost my question here, hopefully someone can help me out or at least tell me to not worry so much. (Or tell me that I'm right in worrying.) I sent the packet out today, but I just realized now that in the rush of it all I forgot to put ATTN: I-129F on the envelope because I was running out of space and wasn't even thinking properly. I sent it to the Vermont Service Center with overnight delivery and return receipt just to be sure. (Paranoid much?) I hope this doesn't effect the process at all and now I'm all nervous again. I've been kicking myself all day for it but it's out of my control now and it'll be there tomorrow. Anyone got any idea what my best course of action could be? Thanks again. Let's hope this goes smoothly for all of us!

  12. Hey everyone. Definitely have to say how thankful I am for this place, it's made the entire process a lot easier. I sent the packet out today, but I just realized now that in the rush of it all I forgot to put ATTN: I-129F on the envelope because I was running out of space and wasn't even thinking properly. I sent it to the Vermont Service Center with overnight delivery and return receipt just to be sure. (Paranoid much?) I hope this doesn't effect the process at all and now I'm all nervous again. Figures. Best of luck to us January filers!
