Happy Valentine's Day to all.
Tomorrow is my Medical...eep! I'm a little nervous. It also happens to be exactly 2 years since Matt proposed to me. Nice way to remember, I guess
-
Medical tomorrow.
-
You have to call the NVC and get this number. It is different that your invoice number and your case number.
-
Awesome feeling eh? Congratulations! One step closer!

Yes that will work. That is all I had for my son and I had no problems.
Good to know. Although, I did contact the Public Health Dept. from where I was born, and she put together a new vaccine card for me with all my vaccinations and faxed it back to me. Some people are just awesome, she was so willing to help me out. I have all my original cards but at least I have a copy of everything from an 'official' person.
-
I have the same and was wondering that as well.
Its just a little book from when I was a kid nothing very official looking, but my doctor is now retired.
I was born up in Elliot Lake, grew up in Sudbury and now I live in St. Cats. I went to the Niagara Public Health and they said since I wasn't from here, they can't access my records. I'm calling around today to see if Ontario Public Health can provide me with something.

Immunization record question:
So I have my medical on Tuesday (15th) and I have all my immunizations up to date. I have all the little booklets that you receive from when you were younger with the recorded dates of the immunizations. Is this sufficient evidence of immunizations? Do I need a letter from the public health department?

Argh! Got my flu shot today...SO against flu shots. Oh, the things we do for love.

Hi Heather. Quick Question: I received my IV Bill yesterday. do I pay that out of a Canadian bank in Canadian or US funds? or can my husband pay it out of his american bank?
All fees are in US funds.
We paid Via My husbands US Bank account.
We did the same.

Congrats on the approvals!
I can't wait to say the same thing...

That sounds more like its for someoen visiting the US on a Tourist Visa. I dont think that Applies to you Heather
I got that too when I read it, but just wanted to double check. I didn't know if they needed proof that I still reside in Canada.

I chose permanently immigrate to the US (scheduled by NVC). I don't remember the other selection being there. You can try one, and if it doesn't get you to the DHL registration, you can go back and change it. It isn't set it stone.
J-
I selected the same, maybe the other option is new. Now that I'm looking over the information provided...it says "Specific Application Documents for Canada":
-current letter of employment showing hire date
-monthly bank statement
-property deeds
-evidence which shows purpose of trip
-proof of sufficient funds to cover all expenses while in US
and so on...
Is this all for me to bring to the interview about myself or evidence of employment from my husband?

DHL question:
Do you click on permanently immigrate to US (scheduled by NVC) or permanently immigrate to US (register for courier service only)?

Guys, I swear, Zappos.com is the best friggin' company in the world. Order my shoe from them today (as I have been for them since about a decade). I got the free standard shipping. Just for the heck of it, I called and asked if I can have my shoes tomorrow. Guess what? Zappos.com upgrade my order at no extra charge. I'm going get the shoes tomorrow. Awesome. Everyone, if you ever buy shoes, you should use http://www.Zappos.com. They have the best selection and the most brand. Of course, Indigo never veers away from Timberland. I would rather not wear any shoes than wear anything that's not Timberland.
Apparently Zappos is one of the top ten companies to work for in the US. They have regular theme days, game days, and are really driven to keep both customers and employees extremely happy.
I'm on a 'snow day' so I can post during the day

I sent you a message instead of writing a novel on here.

Congratulations binny!

Heather&Matt,
Congratulations on almost completing your journey.
Thanks! Interview in a little over a month!
-
im not sure. Maybe you can ask them to send the stuff directly to the consulate since they are originals I assume. Better just call the NVC on monday first thing to get it sorted out.
The originals are forwarded to the consulate and you get them back at the interview....

haha had me worried with the first CSR, he said i couldnt do the ds260 cause we didnt do electronic processing and had already mailed in our documents etc, however didnt seem right to me as its not electronic processing so i called back hoping for a different rep and sure enough she explained it clear as day, that everything is fine since we did the ds260 and we basically just have to wait and to call back in 2 weeks and see how things are going. im so excited!!! i think i will call back next week haha, however i frequent the AVR system daily lol. I think they seriously need to update there systems to distinguish the DS230/DS260 etc to avoid confusing themselves as well as us.
We got a checklist for the exact same thing. We did not do electronic processing and filled out the DS-260. I sent in my documents with the original package and called after we were notified of the checklist. I talked to a CSR and she argued with me for 15 min on how we HAD to do the DS-230 not the DS-260 because we didnt opt in for EP. I explained to her about the change and she still said we have to fill out the DS-230. I filled it out and sent it in and specifically mentioned on your cover letter that they had already received the original documents needed.
After that was received, we got another checklist because they were missing my police clearance. However, they lost it. I sent it in...I triple checked that package before sending it off originally. They didnt take responsibility for losing it, just kept saying it was missing. I had to get a new one done and send it in.
Both checklists delayed our NVC process by a month.

We never got any email from NVC accept when we paid online fee. Our process is employment base immigration ( priority date current)so process, priority and communication may change.
I'm not sure how long interview dates takes for employment based visas....so maybe its very different than spousal visas.

My husabnd filed jointly for 2009 and is doing the same for 2010. We still do not live together. He had to file for a US ITIN (Taxplayer Identification Number) for me in order to include both of our incomes.
As for my taxes in Canada, my accountant didnt need anything like that. He just needed how much my husband made and that he did not reside with me.

Yes, you can travel to the US while you have a petition in progress. As stated above, bring significant ties to Canada with you...rent receipts, utility bills, work paystubs (you can even get a letter from your employer stating when you are expected to return ot work)...anything that shows you reside and plan to return to Canada. You can also photocopy your NOA1/NOA2 once you have them and bring them with you are well to show you are in the process.
You can be denied...all depends on the border guards and their mood. Just remember that being denied does not affect your Visa application. There is a question on the DS-230/DS-260 form about been denied entry but it is nothing to be worried about if it happens. I have been crossing into the US for 1 year while going through the CR-1 process. I have never had a problem except for one guard last week that told me I wasn't allowed to cross...I corrected him and told him I was and I have been for 1 year. He let me through. I have never been denied entry in the 5 years of our relationship.
You do not abandon your Visa if you cross into the US.

maybe not heather says they sent her an email so Looks like they do it with regular as well
Good luck
We actually got everything by email throughout the NVC process...AOS generation, IV app. generation and checklists. Maybe this is due to giving our emails addresses during the first stage of NVC....nothing came by mail other than our USCIS approval.
