Does the AVR have a separate number than the regular NVC number?
Congrats btw H&M
Thanks Matt..how has the electronic processing been going?

AOS package has been accepted, IV package should arrive Monday. After they are both entered, do we call NVC or do we just wait for Sign in Failed? What is the next step?
-
Hi everyone.
On Monday I emailed my DS230 packet to the nvcINQUIRY address, I then received the auto reply and another reply saying they were working on it. Then today we got an email saying the payments have all gone through (we knew that from the website) and to email the packet to nvcELECTRONIC. Hubby and I talked about it, and I ended up forwarding my original email to the electronic address, with a brief message explaining the situation, and I apologized for any confusion I may have caused. It auto-replied, and it said something about sending multiple emails can adversely affect the processing of our case. I am thinking I just sort of jumped the gun on Monday and that it goes to the same place eventually anyway and it won't be a big deal. Did I screw up, or is this just a small glitch? Tell me your thoughts. Thanks! ~C
Did you do the online DS-230 (DS-260) or the paper DS-230?

Here's another silly question: while writing the name on the back of the passport phots...is it LAST, FIRST MIDDLE, or FIRST MIDDLE LAST?
-
That cut basically means its canceled. Not sure if you Can copy and send it but just mention it in a letter That u changed ur name.
Looked at it, faintly it is stamped cancelled. Did you mention in your cover letter (contents) as to why you included it (ie. cancelled due to name change)?
Also, with the passport pictures, did you put them in a bag similarly to the I-130 requirements?
-
When my wife went to get her name changed, they put a cancelled stamp on her old passport. So I just submitted that and a copy of the new one as well. Better safe than sorry I guess.
I don't know it they stamped cancelled on mine...I know they cut the corner of it. Thanks for the reply.

Final check: • Photocopy of valid passport biographic data page of the beneficiary
• Photocopy of cancelled passport biographic data page of the beneficiary
• Two 2x2 inches passport photographs of the beneficiary
• Letter explanation for not including Passport Office Police Clearance Certificate Report.
Am i missing anything? Did write with a blue pen o the back of the pics my wife's DOB, case number and name.
Cancelled passport? Is that just because it expired? I have my old one from when I changed my name after marriage...should I include a copy of that too or just my current one?

I might be way off base here but it was my understanding that you fill the DS260 online. Once completed, you are presented with a page with barcodes and sh**s. You print that page and sign it. Then using that pages as your cover-page, you mail other docs (e.g., marriage certificate, etc) to NVC.
correct.

You say it like electronic filing is a bad thing. I'd kill a gerbil and eat its blood and smear it on my chest to be able to do everything online. Snail mail and paper forms are so 1950's.
Not saying its a bad thing...just not what we wanted to do. I just prefer to send in the documents needed then to scan everything.

My IV application status is PAID! Apparently, I have to submit the DS-230 online...not like electronic processing but tehy call it the DS-260. I still have to send in all my originals and copies of supporting documentation but I guess I just print out the confirmation page after I'm done and send it along with the cover sheet. Interesting.....

@Mr&Mrs.D - good luck tomorrow!!!
-
AOS status PAID! Package will be sent tomorrow since the post office in Buffalo is now closed.

That's very awesome. You got your IIN in one day. I hope I get mine this week. I'd like to know at least once I was put ahead. But not possible. It's been 2 days since my DS3032 email.
Do they email he IIN to beneficiary's email or the petitioner's email? I'm assuming to both.
It was sent to both of us, as well.
-
Also, write NVC Case# on the top right corner of every page, except the cover letter and barcoded sheet.
Loto
Already done!
-
I have stapled individual units together and using a paper clip for the entire set.
Loto
Thanks Loto, I know the USCIS was particular as to what was allowed/not allowed, so I was just concerned about if NVC was similar...
-
Our cover letter is similar, but not exactly the same.
Again, does the package have to be stapled all together or are paperclips acceptable?
-
Was the entire package stapled together? I put paperclips on each set of documents (ie. paystubs together, I-864 together, etc..) Just wondering how picky they are about this stuff...
-
Hello Hello. How is everyone doing. So i am putting together the AOS package and here is what plan on sending:
I-864EZ Coversheet (with barcode)
Form I-864EZ (Signed and dated)
2007 IRS Tax Transcript
2008 IRS Tax Transcript
2009 IRS Tax Transcript
Pay stub(s) from March 7th, 2010 to October 14th, 2010
Bank statement(s) from May 2010
Employment Verification Letter
I wrote my NVC case # on each and every paper. Am I missing anything else?
Thanks.
Did you staple EVERYTHING together? I put paperclips on each set of documents (ie. paystubs together, I-864 together, etc..) Just wondering how picky they are about this stuff...

-deleted- found my answers

Not Account transcripts.
Tax Return transcripts which are more detailed one.
Loto
Thanks Loto..sorry for being neurotic.
-
Sorry for the silly questions...just want to make sure we have everything just right.
-
IRS provided tax transcripts.
Loto
So just the tax return transcripts then? Should be like 2 pages, front and back? First line under Wages says Income/Salaries...

What is the DS-261? I never heard of that form!
Its essentially an online DS-3032 but only available for certain consulates. I'm assuming that I will be doing the DS-260 as well, which is an online DS-230.
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_5165.html
It also lists the Consulates that are involved in this new paperless process.
From the site above:
E-Mail communication and other information technologies are now being integrated to eventually achieve an entirely paperless immigrant visa application process. New paperless processes which may be available or required for your immigrant visa case include being able to:
-Submit all correspondence to the NVC by e-mail with required documents and forms scanned and e-mailed to the NVC as attachments - Called Electronic Processing.
-Register an agent and submit the immigrant visa application fully online - Web-based Form DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa Application and Registration and Form DS-261, Choice of Address and Agent.
-
Congrats.. you are moving right along and hope you get done soon. Good luck.
Thanks...all these little steps bring a smile to my face.
Did you see my question about tax transcripts? Did you include copies or the originals in the I-864 package? Also, my husband got both an account transcript and a tax return transcript...should we include both or just the tax return?

Thats crappy...thats what I kinda feel with the DS-260. We are esentially a guinea pig for this form, since its only been into effect since Oct 4 and with 7 Consulates involved. I printed off the regulations to become familiar with them, in case they have a problem with what we sent in the package.
