  1. My question to the lovely ladies on here, does anyone know of any 'cheaper' places to shop online for a wedding dress?

I know Megan got her's off that cool site, which I am going to get back on later (when I have the doh) but anyone else have any ideas?Apart from the regular David's Bridal and all?

Would appreciate some suggestions and what is everyone else doing?

I found a beautiful white fancy wedding dress in France that I wanted to buy, but I gained weight cos of stress and the waiting :( , so I guess I'll wait at least to get back in shape before searching for another dress for the big wedding

Otherwise, for the first small wedding, I have a black soirée dress (stretchable lol) with big red flowers that i never wore, so I guess I'll wear that if I don't find anything better, tho black on a wedding is not really great, but it's just the "getting married to file a quick AOS so I could start searching for a job" wedding, so I guess it'll be ok. I'll go shopping when I'll be in Paris, so I'll see if I'll find better :)

But it depends if you want a traditional wedding dress, or a "new age" wedding dress lol

omg I just love this one, and it's cheap. I'd get it in dark navy color tho. I'll see ...

  2. Lyoo - bya - na ! Actually, I have some doubts and wanted to ask for an advice. I' ll be picking up my visa on Thursday April 29. Should I wait to have my visa in my passport first or book the flight early this week ( before Thursday ) ? My plan was to leave May 3.

Megan, you must be in 7 th heaven in these days. Good luck for AOS and your life together. (F)

If you are picking it up at the consulate and not waiting on them to send it by mail, then yeah, you could book a flight i guess :hehe:

Megan, you said that Ewan had the most luggage at the airport lol. Did he pay for extra luggage, or when he booked the flight, he asked for extra weight cos it's a "one way" flight?

I'm gonna try to negotiate that with the plane company, once i go to Paris for the interview

  3. I FINALLY got my NOA2. Got the text messages and it looks like it was approved yesterday. Should be in the mail any day now. Oh my goodness, what a relief!

OMG gratz, you broke the waiting record on the november thread  . Omg, lust have been aweful :( .

Hope everything goes quick for you from now on , and gratz again on your NOA2 :)

woooo Gratz Ar and MD on your approval  . Did the interview went nice and easy?

  4. So the UK donkey was officially last passed the post.....just got off the phone to DOS - INTERVIEW 19th May! FINALLY! 202 days from filing to interview date. Now there's so much to do, all that sitting on my butt consoling myself with non-stop donut and chocolate eating stops now! Just booked medical for 12th May and have to plan trip to London.

WE ARE ALL THROUGH NOW!.....and after all that has been said and done, I now kinda like the fact that I was last!

Remember the dark ages when there were over 120 November filers all waiting for NOA2? And no, that doesn't feel "like yesterday", it feels like another lifetime AGO and we've all aged about 10 years with the anxiety.

wooooooooooo I'm so glad for you Mrs D. lots of hugs and gratz on your interview date

megannnnnnnnn so happy for you too, finally with your hubby

omg, what a week in this thread. It's raining good news and happiness

    Love you guysssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

    Y a qu'à attendre :)

    A toute ^^

  6. Thanks girls, such a relief . DoS said that they scheduled it yesterday, the day I didnt call them lol. Good things always happens to me when I get myself ready for a disappointment lol

Oh Juliana, we posted at the same time lol. missed you girly

Gratz on your fast interview date.   . I was hoping you didn't had to wait for it as much as you did for your NOA2

Megan, where is your boy right now? in the air? are you tracking his flight?

Two mules down, one to go. Go go UK mule *gets her whip* (me need a whipping emote lol), give us some UK interview dates, no time for slacking, this November family won't be fully happy until every member is in the US with their loved ones

  7. Megannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Keep us posted bout ur hubby's arrival, as soon as you get back home, before even doin ANYTHING ;)

and Miss Jess, what are you gonna do? I read that they are afraid of a second eruption, worst then the first one :(

Thanks I am so happy,I can't wait. My move date is July 15th should everything go ok at the interview. I am lucky he can just drive up to get me and we can drive back together with my stuff.

there's no reason that things won't be ok . gratz on your interview date, such a relief

  8. Like God, what did we do to deserve this. I'm so frustrated.

Like this stupid volcano eruption couldn't happen like 1 month ago? why did it have to happen now, when all of us European, and those who's flight go threw Europe, are so close to fly out to our loved ones.

And now, what will we hear from our respective stupid consulate : "Oh, we are sorry, the volcano smoke got into our brains (if there was any), this is why we are processing your cases 4 times slower then usual."

God I'm so mad and frustrated. I have no patience anymore. They don't seem to understand that it really hurts to be away from the loved ones, specially when they are in a situation where they need you the most to comfort them.

I'm sorry guys, but I'm really in a really bad mood.

And Miss Jess, have you looked into coming to France, then take the EuroStar (a train that goes threw the underwater tunnel) to the UK? will cost more, but if you really need to go, maybe that's a solution.

    I'm out

  9. Megger & Ewan. You've got it. And you Mrs, are so deserving. You have been a rock, a cheer and a comfort for everyone else for the last 6 months. This is the good news of the day and I am so, so happy and relieved for you.

Mrs Naddy. Mr Naddy has worrying family situation, he needs his woman, and where are you? Still waiting for a consulate to process you, nearly a month after you sent packet 3 back. Me and you still in the same boat. London still not even logged our cases a month on.

I can't post on the UK interview forum no more due to the presence of a big cheese member, who brags about being personal friends with the UK CO's and who takes great pleasure in berating, humiliating and attacking anyone who dares express frustration, upset at the stresses of their own personal situation, or even humorous jibing about the London embassy for the long wait. S/he has already mockingly pointed out that I seem to think I am "entitled" to a visa (which I have never said), and took great pleasure in emphasizing that I am not and I am clearly not aware that it is in fact, a privilege. It's nice to know there will always be someone who enjoys kicking a dog when it's down.

I will be eternally grateful for the support, comraderie and all the laughs you good people on this forum have given me during these soul destroying 6 months. I love you all x

grrrrrrr I hate those people. They must be related to you know who.

In every forum there should be a downer, otherwise, it wouldn't be fun.

Just ignore them. This is what you get when you try to cheat on us lol

We are here to cheer you up, and feel your pain cos we are living it.

Like my baby told me : "we are closer now to what we used to be 5 month ago, the wait is frustrating, but it's not the time to loose it, we are soooo close"

As for being eligible for a visa, all this visa bs shoudln't even exists. We are paying for other people's scams. Like you said, the K1 is a soul destroying process, and those who aren't affected, don't even deserve it, UK CO booty kisser or no.

And we love u toooooooooooooooooooooooo Mrs D.

  10. I really don't understand anything anymore

I sent back the P3 on March 17 by fast tracked mail with a receipt that comes back to me when the mail is delivered.

I tracked the mail on the internet, and it said they received it on March 22 (which is not fast at all <_<)

Not receiving the receipt 1 week later, I e-mailed the embassy on April 1 to ask them if they really received my P3.

They answered back on April 2, saying that they received it, and haven't sent back the receipt yet (which is weird, cos when they receive the mail, they have to sign it, and it's the post office that returns the receipt, not them)

And guess what I found today in the mail? the famous receipt, dated by April 2 .

So it's like, my P3 was lost somewhere under a desk, and when I e-mailed them, they looked for it, and found it  and they were like "Oh yeah, we received it loooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggg time ago, and it will be handled in due time"

I lost 10 days just like that. I wonder which is worst, France or the US, with their administrative paperwork

  11. We're probably jinxing ourselves, but he's going to buy a ticket for April 20th! I sure hope the visa gets printed and mailed in time (fingers crossed).

Thanks so so much to all my fellow November filers who acted as a sounding board and support group! We wouldn't have made it to this point without you guys! November 2009 VSC ROCKS!!!

6 days .... that's too short. Better wait for the visa in hand then buy the ticket. The price won't change a lot. Better be safe then sorry >.<

  12. Fingers crossed for your hubby Megan.

Hope things will go good for him, and that he'll get the visa in hand faster then you got the NOA2 in hand lol

As for Paris Consulate, I hope they all suffer as much as I do now.

Drue had a ... let's say, family matter. It went good, thank goodness, but I really hope I could be with him in case it went bad again :(, which I hope not :(

  13. Hey folks - happy belated Easter :) I went home to see my mum and stepdad and took a few days off from technology!!

Happy Easter to you too, with all this waiting, we skipped wishing each other Happy Easter :bonk:

Hehehe, as it happens I'm in Paris May 7-9 so maybe I'll turn up on the embassy doorstep with some coffee and croissants - the boulangerie across the road from my old studio in Courbevoie did some seriously good croissants, I reckon it'd be easy bribery ;)

If I don't get my P4 this week, there won't be any french embassy anymore :girlwerewolf2xn:

Woohoo!!! One of us has made it....I will work on my graduation list later, work's a little crazy at the mo :(

I am heading down to London tonight - medical at 10:10 tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed!!

    *crossing fingers*

  14. Hi guys! Yesterday we were finally reunited!!!! It is such a great thing to finally be together, and start a normal life again. :) :)

Thank you for all your nice words, I am really rooting for all of you to be here (or have your loved one here) very soon!

We will probably have a quick wedding as soon as possible and have an unofficial ceremony a bit later. I would really hate to plan something in a rush, but the health care thing is an issue for me too, so we'll make it official fast. Plus I also want to file for AOS as soon as possible, so by the time y'all get there I'll be the resident expert :)

Anwesha - I came with a round trip ticket because it was a third (!) of the price of a a one way. At POE, they didn't even look at my ticket or ask about it. The officials in Vienna did, but I explained and they understood and wished me a happy life in the US. :)

On the customs form upon entering, I declared my personal stuff (clothes, electronics, etc), as they specifically ask about artifacts that will stay in the US. There was no problem with it, but the customs official did not seem to understand why I checked it. (I did just to make sure there will be no issues with it.) Then again, they were preoccupied with my handful of dogfood.

yay !!!!! i was thinking of you yesterday

Glad you're finally reunited with your hubby

  15. Hey guys! Just got in, but wanted to let you all know as soon as possible: I AM IN THE US!!!!!!! Puppy was a hero and survived the cargohold!

POE was a breeze - when I got in, there were hundreds of people in the foreign citizens line, so I asked a guy in uniform if I could go with the US citizens. I gave him a very sad look and told him about my puppy in cargo and he let me :)

There were no question whatsoever, just about the dogfood I had on me - because of that I had a twenty minute wait in secondary customs. Otherwise, really no problem at all.

Now I am just waiting for my baby to come home on Sunday and we'll be reunited :) :) I am ridiculously (however you spell that) happy!!!!!!!

woooooo something to cheer me up today

Glad you got there safely, and the puppy too

Wish you all the best for the rest

    big hugs

  16. I called DoS today. The only thing they have is that French consulate sent me the P3 on March 12.

Then, she said that they are waiting for the Affedative of Support. I was like :"huh? on the P3 it said I have to show it at the interview". So she said, :"oh ok". o.O

So they have no sign bout me returning the P3, and no interview date for me for me.

Oh well, I guess VSC has a french cousin, the stupid french consulate >.<
