So, the big day is almost upon us. The excitement has kicked in and on the 22nd we'll be sending in my ROC application. I'll be a busy bee copying, printing, tagging this upcoming week.
-
if I were in your situation, I would probably include a copy of the lease along with a short letter from the landlord explaining that they know that you live together and have done so since XX/XX/20XX date.
Excellent idea, Leenie! Thanks again!
I called our landlord and he said he can "add me to the lease". My husband said to wait (due to our other strong evidence) and see whether USCIS will RFE-ed us.
Heading to the post office this morning to send our application up to Vermont. We had issues with the K1 visa application being misplaced by staff in the past, which caused a delay, so this one better go through without a hitch!
Yes, I recall your visa journey. You had a lot of complications the first time around. Best wishes!

One thing that sticks out to me is that you seem to be lacking evidence of the fact that you live together, besides the IDs/DLs. Do you have rental or mortgage documents you can send as well? I think adding that, if available, would make your evidence very strong. If you live with parents, you could ask them to draw up and sign a letter attesting to the situation.
P.s. We have a few envelopes, letters, postcards addressed to us both. I'm assuming those aren't enough?!

Hi Leenie! Thank you very much for your advice!
Me and my husband live alone and rent. All apartment-related documentation is in my husband's name.
What should we do at this point? Any ideas?

We're planning on sending in the following:
- cover letter
- I-751 form
- copy of the GC
- copies of ID and DL showing our shared address
- copies of health insurance & dental cards showing same account number
- copies of car, health, life insurance showing both our names on the policy/the other spouse listed as the beneficiary
- bank account copies/statements showing both our names
- copies of joint tax returns
- vacation documentation
- family pictures
- and of course the $590 check/money order
Are we good to go?

Right now, what has me thinking is whether I should do it through the lawyers I have always used or just try to file myself.
I don't think you need a lawyer, do it yourself, it's fairly easy.
Check out the USCIS website, read the VJ guide, make a checklist and gather the paperwork, evidence you need.
We filed for K1 & AOS ourselves and didn't encounter any complications along the way.
Good luck!

How much is the I-751? $505-petition & $85-biometric fee? $590-total?
Happy Friday!

I-134 supports K1, I-864 supports AOS.

Congratulations!

Hi Leenie & fellow October 2012 ROC filers! We meet again!
My window opens on October 18. I'll start putting my paperwork together this upcoming weekend.
Did you all receive your notices yet? What evidence are you all sending in?
Good luck!

Even VJ (Guides) says "You will NOT be sent any reminder to file this petition from USCIS".
-
Surprise, surprise!
I'm a conditional GC holder and last week I received "A notice of requirement to file joint petition to remove the conditional basis of an alien's permanent resident status". I thought USCIS doesn't send out such notices. Well, I was wrong, they do.
Happy Monday!

can anybody tell me where i can get the certified copy of my marriage licence?
Me and hubby live in WI but got married in NYC. In our case, we can only get a certified copy of our marriage certificate from the office of the city clerk in NYC.

Congratulations!

Congratulations on your happy marriage & Here's to many more years to come!
I also arrived in US on September 11, 2008. My plane ticket was ridiculously cheap because nobody flew that day. Good for me!

I changed my SS information (for the exact same reason) and had no problems.
How about filing my I-751 in my first name and my last name (my husband's last name) only? Will I get RFE-ed or denied?

Ok, 2 questions!
Did you send in the actual photos or the black & white & color copies?
Did you make the check or the money order payable to US Department of Homeland Security or to US Citizenship and Immigration Services?
Thanks!
