I know you don't look beyong "talking points" and ####### like that, but if you'd actually look at the facts, you'd know that the house has sent many jobs bills to the senate, but it's the senate (Democrat majority) that keeps them from coming up from a vote and holding down the economy.
Those little facts might hurt your dear President too much though in this election if the average person knew it was his party playing the obstructionist role here.

Wait, you're trying to say Texas was failing before the Exodus? Yeah, might want to try that one again. People have been moving here in droves because it has been a great state for business for a very long time and is one of the most stable in the country.

Believe me, I see the pains of the California exodus every single day.... The population growth from transplants here is something astonishing really.
The fvcked up part about all of it, is they bring their policy ideas with them that caused them to flee their original state in the first place... They're like a virus.

It was never supposed to be a Democracy. A true democracy is just as dangerous if not worse than what we have today.
What we have today is a very 'special interest' influenced government.
We seem to forget that our government is made up of people. People who can easily be bought and sold on a whim. Almost everyone has a price. People are inherently weak by nature and can feel constant pressure from outside sources who have given them something. They fear the donors more than they fear their constituents and that's a big problem.
The modern left gets so mad any time you bring up the 'talking points' of Ayn Rand and her idealism, but the woman was absolutely right. She blamed the ills of government on special interests and felt the people should be left to their own free will with the exception of basic common ground laws. She understood how corporations influenced the hell out of members of government. She saw the writing on the wall decades ago now, and here we are today.
Of course it's not like we weren't warned before then when people screamed about the Federal Reserve Act either. People warned us at Bretton Woods. Warned us after Nixon cut the last link after Bretton Woods. It's all an elaborate idea to keep those who have more richer and those who have none to make it hard for them to obtain wealth. To make them truly worthy of the power they seek in the eyes of those who hold the power. They find pawns to use from time to time who might 'connect' with the people better.
I can already see a few people who are reading this searching for the 'til foil' images, but reality doesn't lie. It's no conspiracy that there are 'powers that be' in this country today. We see it every waking moment in the way our government works. Problem being is that 'Honey Boo Boo' is on TV so the masses are satiated. For now.

To filibuster a bill, it has to reach the floor of the Senate. The Senate has this other little tradition, whereby the Senate Majority Leader, one Senator "Dingy" Harry Reid (D-NV), determines which bills reach the floor.
So why, with the Democratic majority to defeat any bills, does he insist on stalling so many GOP employment bills by preventing them from reaching the floor?

Cap and trade law in January will fix everything. Help is on the way.

I think you miss the point. This was a teacher who did this to a student. It's not like another student was saying this to her.
A teacher doesn't question a child about her parents political views and then proceed to tell her that she's wearing KKK robes and that she needs to take her shirt off because this was a "Democratic school" trying to speak to everyone else in there. She's not a random stranger, she's someone who's supposed to be neutral in the classroom when it comes to her students.

No, never a democracy at the Federal level. The system was designed by folks that mistrusted the ability of the people to rule themselves, equating democracy with anarchy, and history has proven them right, as more "democratic" reforms have been added to the system. If you read the Constitution, it was meant to protect States' rights, and the Bill of Rights was added as an afterthought, to protect individual rights, an initial oversight that should give some clue to the mindset of our founding fathers. After all, it was mob rule that permitted the Colonials to harass the Mother country enough to abandon all hope of rehabilitating them.

Romney was right about one thing last night though, and that is if the economy were to start growing again and more and more people are employed, then the revenue stream would start flowing in.
The US Government made more money in 2007 than at any other year in history. Look at the unemployment rate in 06/07 only to see why. The jobs were there, and boy were they big time.
If the US government were to stop all new spending and move around current dollars out of defense spending/cut some of those same dollar as well, we could easily start wearing away the deficit.
Now the second key to this is that congress MUST and I mean MUST pass a budget/tax code that will be in place guaranteed for 2+ years. If we keep going with 6 month extensions or less, the economy is not going to grow like it should.

Actually, Obama's is a bigger issue because he's had the ability to vote on legislation in various areas for that long.
