Interview scheduled for 5-20-10...
I strongly recommend if you haven't had your medical yet, to make sure your fiancee requests to have them release her passport & results to her and not send on to the embassy. They lost Milagros's medical forms and now I have to keep bothering people to get this resolved. LOL, fun is..

The petitioner receives it.

Congratualtions Jared. I know you know the answer to this. I called the 202-663-1225 number today. I had already learned that the file was sent electronically on April 2nd. The person I got was less then knowledgeable and redundant. She just kept repeating that the embassy would contact her when they are ready. So the question is, can I call the number pay the money and set an interview time without the embassy contacting her? How will you know when the embassy finds May's medical records? Just curious.
Cary and Jim
Thank you all for your congratulations, I'm in pretty good spirits about this!!

Cary & Jim - You should wait a few more days and then call the Manila Embassy to schedule your interview:
http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3238.html <<-- instructions are here, it's $18 for you to call.. Also please keep in mind when they ask if your fiance(e) has received the invitation letter you can just say "Yes" even if it's not true.. They'll still schedule the interview for you..
For me.. I'm going to call here to follow up with this number that someone else posted in the Philippine's regional threads.. "To reach the immigrant section of the USEM, where your bumbling case worker's desk is located, call 011-63-2-301-2000 extension 5184 or 5185." I plan on waiting a day, and then calling tomorrow evening (Wed)..

Thank you everyone for all of your kind words...
@Johnny - she did bring the CD but that's not enough. It would have been better had Milagros requested to bring the St Luke's results with her to the embassy (+ her passport) so there's 0 change of anything being lost enroute.
@rionet - thanks I think I'm going to give them Tuesday to look for it, and call them back on Wednesday to find out what in the world happened. I agree, it seems like they are more helpful to the USC as they didn't let her schedule the interview, but they let me.
@Tahoma - you can be there's going to be a lot of squeaking coming from me..
-
She passed her interview, but they lost her medical report.. I guess this is fairly common.. They did receive the report, but couldn't find it..
I still consider this a win, and a victory when the visa is in hand.

So I got the heads up that Milagros passed her interview, but the embassy lost her medical report. They saw in the system that they received it on 3/31 but couldn't find it.. (not even 2 weeks later)
So she passed, paid a fee to have it mailed to her..
She said that they would call her with an update on it, and she plans to nag them until they close this all out..
Has anyone else been through this before? I'm super happy but a little confused, all at once..

As MAPT says, VSC is a complete ####### shoot.. We saw Dec 20th NOA1's being approved before Dec 2nd, etc...
It's a warped game of musical chairs, you just gotta home your box ends up on the desk of the adjudicator that's ready to plow through em'..
-
Good luck, Milagros is at the embassy right now... I'm so nervous..
-
Milagros is going for her interview in about 3 hours.. I should hear back from her around 10/11 PM EST, so I'll let you know what they ask of her in terms of evidence. She printed out a bunch of e-mails, brought love letters I sent via snail mail, along with pictures, passport stamps, boarding passes, hotel reservations, etc.
Best of luck to all.

I'm believing what Jared posts, he seems very knowledgeable about this whole process. Did you lady attend the seminar that is required for anyone leaving the country, mine is going on Monday. There is a stamp that they put on her passport showing attendance. I saw a posting on VJ about someone not having the stamp and getting stopped at the airport or actually boarding the plane. I wonder if he had to buy a new ticket.
Cary and Jim
For St. Luke's you need the MNL #, and not the letter from the Manila Embassy. For the CFO seminar you really should have the visa already to make things go easier, but I suppose you can do it before St Luke's takes the passport away from your fiancee and forwards it to the embassy.. Good luck & God Bless!

What if you live in a state that requires both CGFNS & NCLEX? Can you still not take the boards?
-
Jared,
Will Milagros be returning with you in May? I would love for Carol to return with me, but I'm going to the interview so she will have to come to the states alone. Our thoughts will be with you and Milagros on Monday...GOOD LUCK!!!
Hi Mark.. No, unfortunately I am coming home solo in May.. Milagros has her nursing boards in July.. It's going to be so tough with her having the visa in hand during my visit, but at least that gives me 59 days to get my place fiancee-ready..

Thank you, Mark
Jared,
I'll probably be around Sunday night when you hear the good news
So share asap
You know it brother.. No sleep Sunday night, hahaha!!!
Finishing up the final touches on things this evening, sending money, confirming hotel, and saying a few prayers..

Speaking of getting Pink... How crazy did y'all get with providing evidence of the engagement?
Here's what I have:
- 20+ pictures of us together on 3 different trips + tickets/boarding passes
- engagement ring on her pretty little finger
- iPhoto book i made for her birthday of pictures of us together
- Facebook announcement of our engagement + congratulations from family members
I was going to have her print off a few e-mails, but I'm just trying to gauge if we need much more.. ??
Thanks again for all your advice!
-
Thank you, thank you.
Two more weeks.... and the I really hope I will add a big fat APPROVED in my signature
Flying out on 16th
Good for you boss.. Booked Milagros's tickets this morning... Sunday night is going to be a long one for me..

Cheers to all, interview scheduled for Monday the 12th!!!
-
Thank you.. I do believe it's there.. I sent them the e-mail just now and I'll check it later..
Thanks again!

So Milagros just called about scheduling her interview and they wouldn't do so without a letter confirming her appointment? Has anyone else encountered this? I have the receipt from the NVC from March 24th that they sent our petition..
Are there more restrictions when folks call from Phil vs US? Did we call too soon? They said she can't interview without some letter..
-
Thanks Captain, Jared are you listening? Do you know? I'm sure you do you seem to be so on top of everything.
Cary and Jim
I've been working on a flooded basement for two days now...
Manila "sometimes" sends instructions, but it's not worth waiting for.. Call about 1-2 weeks after the NVC sends to Manila to schedule your interview. You just need your MNL# to find out more info.
Also, send your fiance(e) off to St Luke's for the medical now... Again it just requires the MNL #, and then you're in really good shape. Get St Luke's over with in case they decide that a sputum test is necessary..
Good Luck/God Bless.

Hahaha! So true!
I know people drive crazy in the Philippines...I remember when I was a kid. But coming from the States and driving in the Philippines myself? Damn! Some crazy stuff.
If you can drive in the Philippines (and not get into an accident), you can drive anywhere in the world!
You really need fast reactions and a heightened sense of awareness.
Philippines is nothing.. you have to got to see the way they drive in Shanghai..

Please make your check out to Мартышк+Мартышка VJ attorney..

There is nothing in the K1 process that requires notary.

There's other posts on this, but I read that the St Mary's CFO in Cebu is all day and the PRISM one in Manila is 2 hours. I don't know how long the St Mary's CFO in Manila is..... I also read that the nuns are a little more critical on your papers than the folks at PRISM.
Johnny once again you are the man!
Yes, Milagros did say the woman that she was talking to was Cebuano/from Cebu... I'm going to book the PRISM one, that sounds a whole lot better.. Can't wait to call on Monday and find out her interview date.. Plus tomorrow is April 1, which is awesome because I'm headed back to Phil on the 30th.. Woohoo, I can't wait!!

I don't know about retiring, but I certainly can see splitting up our time between the US & PI.. Of course that's about 35-40 years from now, so things may change..

Yes, your fiancee just needs the MNL # and a copy of the NOA2 form is helpful I think...
She already interviewed, and they said she was approved but they can't find her medical forms. I just called and they said that the form is still with the immigration officer. I was polite and told her that thank you and I'll follow up again soon.
