We were in Boracay back in November..
In the morning we rode jet skii's.. Or actually, she drove and I was holding on for dear life.
We went swimming in the ocean in the afternoon, and took a catamaran in the early evening. Later that night we enjoyed a dinner by the beach and then had a personal fire dancer show at the Bamboo Lounge. We were walking back to the hotel with our feet in the ocean looking up at the moon.. Along the way I stopped and got down on one knee. I told her she was the love of my life and I wanted to spend the rest of it with her. I started to ask her if she would marry me, and she said yes before I could even finish speaking.. And she was crying as I put the ring on her finger.

Milagros always stays at Casa Bocobo and loves it..

You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack... it grew by one. So there... there were two of us in the wolf pack... I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!

That's hilarious.. I wish I saw that before my first jeepney ride..

it takes me no time at all. for international flights, i fly with two watches and adjust one to my destination's local time. i force myself to sleep on the plane and to wake up. no problem for me.
I just got back Sunday night and I'm all out of whack..

all you need is her GC and your good to go everywhere you want her GC is your ticket to travel
So she would show her GC & Pilipinas passport to enter any country that a US passport can get you into?
Not a problem. Reasoning: why would a Filippina who went through a lot of ####### to become a US resident illegally stay in a European country?
BTW., forget Germany, do South of France, Marbeilla (Spain), and/or Italy instead.
LOL, yeah we'd like to go to Paris, Spain, and Italy.. I just threw in Germany as an example..

Did you only go to the Phils for 1 week? Too bad it was so short, but I bet it was great seeing her! I haven't seen Karen in almost exactly a year!
What happened to the photo of May with her visa in hand?
Yup just 1 week to Phils, but it was incredible as always.. It had been 3 months so we really needed that trip. I could never go a full year, that's way too long
So I feel for you brother.. Milagro's pic should still be there with the visa.. Last I checked it is.. It cracks me up..
-
Yeah, I know that Milagros pretty much needs a visa for anywhere we'd like to go - Germany or Italy.. But I was curious if anyone else has been through this and tried applying, etc? She doesn't have a penny to her name, so I was wondering what kind of requirements they might have.. I'd imagine it's not as intense as a US visa.. I wonder if I help her case in terms of support?

Looks like a fun time, wish you'd send some warm weather up this way...

I didn't take a picture, but mine was in a page accordion style folder.. They don't care about presentation, just the content inside. Follow the checklist, sign each line, and be prepared to wait.. This is a long process.
Good Luck!

So before I left last week, Milagros and I were talking about going back home to the Philippines next year to visit family.. However, she brought up the idea of maybe not going back home in 2011, but rather in 2012. She thought maybe we would be able to go somewhere that she normally couldn't go to because of visa related issues, and we both kind of agreed that Italy might be an awesome trip. However, she will still have her Philippines passport until she becomes a US citizen.
My question for my fellow VJers is what success have you had with obtaining visas to European countries - Italy, Germany, etc while being a Filipino citizen but living in the US? Obviously this would be after filing the AOS and having the travel ban lifted.
Thanks in advance..

Jared,
How was your time with May? I bet it was really nice to see her again.
At least you know that you will be together in less than 2 months...that has to be a great feeling.
BTW...how's the house makeover coming?
We had an absolute blast.. Got to hang out with her fam, wonderful beaches of Bohol, saw the tarsiers, and just loved every minute together..
Home makeover is on hold until I get over this jet lag
58 days and counting...

I just got back last night around midnight, popped a Lunesta and managed about 5 hours of sleep. I'm going to try for about 7 tonight..
Usually takes me 4-5 days to get back to normal.

The thing that pisses me off the most about Manila is going upstairs to catch a "regular cab" and asking if they're standard metered.. And then they quote me a fixed price.. I was so pissed, I paid P400 to go to Mall of Asia from Terminal 2 to meet up with Milagros after her CFO.. He wanted to charge me 600, but I talked him down.. Tried to get it to be just P100 (since it's really like a P75 fare). Then we took a regular cab back from Mall of Asia to T2 and it was P75..
Cabs in Manila suck.. Never had that problem in Davao.

Glad to see you guys kept it tame while I was gone..

It's in the plastic wrap - pull your passport out, and just don't open the yellow envelope.

My sweetie hit the same scenario, that big DON'T OPEN note had her afraid of opening up the plastic to retrieve her passport. Congrats on the visa!!
