Anyone with K1 visa in AP still following this forum? I have read many posts, starting as far back as page 150. Was hoping to get a sense of what the Embassy has been working on lately, but it seems this forum has gone pretty quiet.

My fiancé's interview was November 16th, 2021, and we are still in AP(69 days ~ 2 months 8 days). I am Haitian American and he is Pakistani Pakistani 😅. I can't think of any red flags besides that and we had some trouble with the Medical Exam arriving in time for the Interview. Interview was only a few questions long and white 221g form was given with 2 checks, one for passport after medical exam, and the other for the medical exam report. Medical exam report arrived the week later 11/24/21 and they still have his passport.

Our I-129F will expire at the end of the week(however it seems they will automatically renew it). Our NOA1is 02/08/21, so about a year in the process. Many other K1s were issued in December from ISL. Contacted state senator and rep for my state, waiting on their confirmation, however Covid is everywhere in Colorado & US. Starting to consider planning a trip to Pakistan in March since a year has passed since we were last together (don't know if I can visit Embassy during that time to inquire in person).

I was able to record most, if not all, the updates on our case since the interview:

    • Nov 16, 2021 (interview)
    • Nov 24, 2021 (passport & medical)
    • Dec 01, 2021  (inquiry)
    • Dec 16, 2021
    • Dec 17, 2021 (inquiry)
    • Dec 21, 2021
    • Dec 29, 2021 (inquiry)
    • Jan 06, 2022

Sharing this information in hopes that it is helpful to others and that it may bring insight for us. Wishing all those in AP a swift end to their wait. Thanks!

Hi and thanks for sharing much details. usually marriage and fiancé based immigration cases goes through very strict scrutiny throughout the world; so same applies in your situation that you might be aware. consular officer usually never ask casual questions because they thoroughly review each immigration case before scheduled interview to identify any potential red flags, or grey areas. to best of my knowledge as i'm not a expert, visa officer thoroughly review and ensure from every aspect that your case does not fall under potential human trafficking, or marriage based fraud, plus they might figure out that how much time you both spent together after engagement/marriage including your joint activities (i.e. time as living together, travelling together, financial benefits / records / payments, family reunions, messages/communication records, and joint celebrations etc.). assuming you both have all necessary records as I mentioned earlier, so  you need to wait till 180th day, but meanwhile do follow-up every 30th day with US consulate through website, stay humble and polite, consider US consulate Islamabad may dealing with increased interviews traffic and case processing of different neighboring countries along with Pakistan in COVID pandemic with limited staff. Meanwhile your senator could be beneficial in follow-up scenario. if you can afford then, consider to discuss your situation with consultant at argovisa.com, they might able to shed some light as what potentially your case is going through. you can subscribe to their youtube channel as well in case a video might help you as well, but consider I have no direct or indirect affiliation with anyone nor i'm subject matter expert. expert discussions always helpful to determine your unique scenarios and situations, so once you feel more than 180 days are passed without much progress then you can take advice from experts. meanwhile, don't stress out and be optimistic and enjoy your relationship together. good luck.

AOA. so i finally got email from Embassy to submit new medical, new passport, visa photo for my mother. My Question do they send the old passport back to the applicant when renewing the passport? and how do you submit the medial back to embassy? Can someone please response me. thanks

w'salam, first of heartiest congratulations for receiving well deserved email and whishing you good luck with expedite processing of visa.

    i) My Question do they send the old passport back to the applicant when renewing the passport?

ans: you need to request old passport back and send new documents ASAP without delays because your chances of expedite processing will be earliest.

ii) how do you submit the medial back to embassy?

ans: i'm not sure from which city you belong (i.e. islamabad, lahore or karachi) but nowadays medical is directly sent from authorized panelist to embassy and you don't need to carry reports. also your reports to carry to USA will be given right away which you don't need to carry to embassy.

hope you got answers of your queries, best of luck.

    best,

On May 6, we had our CR1 visa interview at the U.S. embassy in Jakarta, and they happily approved my wife's visa in 5 or 10 minutes. They also kept her passport and gave her an approval letter. Great.

Then, on May 7, we got a cryptic email from JakIV (same place) saying her application requires additional administrative processing and it's "suspended" until they receive more information. At first, we thought the email was a glitch because like I said, they already approved her visa.

We responded to their email and asked if it was a mistake, and we attached a photo of her visa approval letter they gave us the day before. Today they replied with the exact same email again, saying it needs additional administrative processing. We also noticed her visa status on CEAC says Refused.

The problem is, all of the questions in their AP email are questions we already answered in her original visa application. They didn't tell us about any problem with her application.

They're asking her full name, DOB, visa type, past travel history, names of relatives or children, past addresses, emails, phone numbers, and social media handles.

We already answered all of these questions in the original application, so today we replied to them with the same exact answers. What happens next?

They didn't even explain to us what information or documents are missing. Everything was accurate the first time. Why are they being so difficult and/or incompetent?

there could be many reasons that they are asking information once again and one of the most likely reason could be that they lost your file or evidences so asking all stuff once again. but i'm not sure.

Hey guys... so according to my keen research/assumption based on the stats on this website for PAKISTAN EMBASSY... I predicted the interview letters (IL) and Interview Dates (ID) for this year 2020:

The interviews are basically held after one month of the IL's emails so I'll put a / in my predictions below (You can have 1-3 months in each +/-) :

    1. If you got DQ'd in MARCH 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in October 2020/November 2020
    2. If you got DQ'd in APRIL 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in November 2020/December 2020
    3. If you got DQ'd in MAY 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in December 2020/January 2021
    4. If you got DQ'd in June 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in January 2021/February 2021
    5. If you got DQ'd in July 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in February 2021/March 2021
    6. If you got DQ'd in Aug 2020 : You can expect IL and ID in March 2021/April 2021.

These are based on data from this website. I am not an expert; just anxiously waiting for my husband... hope this helps a little. Good luck everyone. Keep me updated on your IL and Interview dates. Thank you :)

Impressive! you seems to be a good analyst and extracting results from the trending. Adding own experience for audience, it depends that if all your documents are accepted by NVC in first attempt then interview date is scheduled in US consulate at earliest otherwise they (NVC) request more evidences before scheduling an interview that take longer time then above.

  6. our case are F2B and there was first interview in Nov, 2017 in a separate room then our all cases put in to AP from Ready, then Refused, then Returned to NVC, then to USCIS. Finally, USCIS recently Reaffirmed all but no status change by NVC and appearing Returned to NVC.

    So my questions are:

    1) do we need to submit again all documents (i.e. i-864 form, birth certificates, unmarried certificates, birth certificate of sponsor, passports)

    2) when is expected to get call from US embassy for re-medical

    3) two cases were reaffirmed in early May'20 and one in late Jul'20; so all cases will arrive together or separately in US embassy

    4) at this time, NVC hasn't contacted us to submit updated i-864 forms or any documents; so potentially how long more it will take, any idea?

I think it took about 2 months.  The second interview was fine ( nothing like our first) but we were given the questionnaire and placed in Administration Processing for a year and 10 months before having a 3rd interview where the visa was given at the appointment.

You mean there was a third interview as well and then after that they gave you visa. also, who interview first second and third interview a fruad officer or or consular officer.

  8. 11 hours ago, Ahmed&Freda said:

It will go through NVC before getting back to Islamabad but won't be there long.  It took about 4 months from reaffirmation to interview.  USCIS and NVC moved quickly but Islamabad took a while before the interview was scheduled.

Thank you @Ahmed&Freda for prompt response, so how long Islamabad took to schedule interview once case was reaffirmed by USCIS. Was that interview intensive as first interview or a simple one to know if anything is changed meanwhile. Also how long it took them to issue visa after second interview. Actually our cases are F2B and first interview conducted possibly by fraud officers, so seeking information as heads up for ahead and necessary.

  9. Hello @Ahmed&Freda & Everyone,

Hope you are doing well and everything is fine at your side. I need an expert opinion that, how long it takes when USCIS reaffirmed cases at their side and returned to NVC. Do they (USCIS) directly send case to original consular post (in our case Islamabad) or is it routed through NVC and then Islamabad.

Please you, or anyone that have first hand knowledge, about this process can comment, much appreciated.

Every case is different I've seen some wait a year before even getting a NOIR in the first place.  Our case was returned in January 2018 uscis notified us in February they had it for review and we received the NOIR in June.  We responded in about 2 weeks and it was reaffirmed in under 2 weeks after they received it.  The petitioner is the one who responds to a NOIR and is given 30 days to do so.

Thank you very much, also can you respond to 1, 2, 3 if you are aware of anything (or anyone from group)

  11. hello everyone!

    i need information that:

    1) how long duration it takes when a case returns to US consulate (ISB) once reaffirmed by USCIS officer?

    2) what next is expected from CO officer in US consulate (ISB) as soon it reach out to him/her?

    3) how long it will take to make decision and issue a visa for (221g) case, if interview in past already done

also, a case with noir status, what need to do considering noir notice might be in transit from USCIS. can applicant/petitioner himself/herself respond? and how long it takes for a final outcome of nior?

can @Ahmed&Freda, or anyone had similar experience will answer above.

    best,

  13. members,

had interview on november 2017 for category f2b and interview ended with letter 221(g) given by co. long story short then our cases were in ap from ready, then returned to nvc and nvc returned to uscis; so uscis california service center received on december, 2018. since then it is considerable time and didn't heard from uscis/nvc despite congressional inquiry. although had hired an attorney but still cases seems in limbo and time is passing.

now question is, does any member have idea, or clue, that how long it will take more to send noir/noid by uscis and then cases get back to consulate.

co gave letter with 221(g) as below:

option 1: crossed with red ink

option 2: checked / ticked with black ink

    option 3: unchecked

although timely submitted all requested evidences of economic solvency (i.e. joint sponsor, proof of status, i-864) by petitioner. so your help, assistance, experience sharing or anything valuable will help greatly. or, what we can do now!

    best.

  15. i see there is long list of immigrants and they are waiting since long as some of them are waiting more than a year. so far how was your experience in dealing with US consulate staff while interview and case processing. i believe, since Trump elections they are discouraging immigrants from certain countries including ours though there isn't official statement but as Trump advocated in his presidential speeches. i haven't seen much candidates from Obama era in forum and heard that in his tenure there was most expedite processing. even separated families were allowed to visit US on non-immigrant visa without much questioning.

    lets talk and share candidly.

Because my petitioner income was not sufficient to sponser me. So co asked me to submit joint sponser and 2 by 2 photos for visa processing and they kept my passport.12 months has passed after submitting

have you did follow up with US Consulate to figure out how long will it take them to make decision? suggesting keep proactive follow-up with officers until there is some movement in your case.

Same thing happened to my brother too.his case was refused 3 weeks ago.still waiting... i dont know what will the process?this time uscis will b truthfull about their promise time(6 to 8 weeks)

so sad to read about it, so when your brother interview was and what went wrong? secondly, about the promise of 6 to 8 weeks they communicated in early August by email to me, whereas status is changed/updated in September so you can imagine how fast they processing considernig circumstancies (also somehwre i read that returned cases are least priority of USCIS though i can't confirm/refer source).  it also all depends where initially your immigration peritions was approved from below service centers:

    • California Service Center
    • Nebraska Service Center
    • Potomac Service Center
    • Texas Service Center
    • Vermont Service Center

The most slowest is California service center :cry:imho, i pray that this time they act faster. lets team up as we are on same ship bound to service center.
