  1. be sure to write your case number on EVERY page... I just sent one paciage (original signed and copies of financial info) and made sure hubby had a complete set...

    christeen,

sorry to sound so slow, it's late and i'm a bit cracked out after working on all this...

so just send the original AND copies of the original to NVC or just original AND WE BRING COPIES TO INTERVIEW?

seriously don't shoot me for my slowness...

  2. alrighty then. thanks for answering me .

IMO - having received the DS-3032 'kit' via email is the 'thing' that makes the difference.

So - somehow, my answer is YES - they have yer email address. Usually they 'get it' because you or yer evil twin called in, talked with a human, and gave the information to them. Are you sure you (or yer evil twin) did NOT call in, this week? Maybe there was an email address on you somewhere in the I-130 ? (there's an additional form you can use, IIRC, to get receipt notification via email on initial I-130 submittal, but I digress) .

The DS-3032 takes about 5 to 9 days, currently, once received at NVC, for any 'action' to be taken on it. There is never an instant 'automated message' returned back to you. You MIGHT be getting stuff in, later, but it'####### and miss to forecast 'when'. Towards the end of NVC processing, to the best of my knowledge, the DS-3032 is reviewed, and then that final checklist is sent off. So, if you receive the checklist - thats a good indication that the DS-3032 was accepted. Others claim it's accepted when the IV fee bill has been generated, or when the AVR says case complete, or when the online payment portal login fails. IMO, it's still a moving target as to 'where in this frickin process it's actually acted on'.

IMO - this 'action' is parallel to the rest of the 'stuff' - ie

    1. paying online

    2. sending off document/form sets.

(Note I said Parallel - ie - stuff running concurrently, without 'waiting' )

For now - you can pay the AOS fee, online, prep that I-864 packet to get out the door.

If you follow my guidelines in that link, you'll notice that 'action' of what to do next - is all driven by

'what you see' at the payment portal.

Come hang out here, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=238648 for a bit?

(I wonder where the March NVC thread is? :D )

    Good Luck !

    Yay NVC !!

    Darnell,

If being granted a visa were the Academy Awards I would mosdef include you in my speech. Your advice has been/is a great deal of help.

Will joint the forum and follow your steps.

As for calling in...have to check with twin, but I didn't do so. Just check my Spousal Affidavit, I-130, G325a...my email address is not listed!!! Mmmm...maybe because I signed into the USCIS website?

Will call them and give them both (if they will accept 2) of our email addresses just to make sure.

    THANKS!

    OH WAIT!

Just saw that my email address was included on cover sheet...possibly NVC got it from here?

  3. Questions:

    1. How did you receive it? email? postal mail?

    2. are you the US Citizen or the foreign spouse ?

If you want to 'pay all online' - have a read?

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=3560467

Yes, I have read this, thanks!

I am the petitioner-US citizen and I received a copy of the DS-3032 "kit" and the AOS bill via email.

(Just realized that my husband did not receive an email...so they don't have his email? Maybe I should give this one to the NVC operator?? We do live together so anything I get will be passed along or shared with him.)

We attempted to email the DS-3032 from two different email addresses and did not receive any automated message saying that the form was received. (I know that one may or may not receive this...or will receive it later...not too worried as we will also send it in the post.)

So....they have my email address? :D

  5. those are 2 separated process

Here's Christeen's time tested formula for NVC:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay and wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

    muchas gracias! agradezco su ayuda...

    suerte!

  6. Thanks for the reassurance/advice guys!

I haven't been home in almost 3 years...SO ready to see fam and introduce my husband! AND eat some good veggie food as this doesn't exist or does but is super expensive in BS AS!!!

  7. Hi All,

Reading up on the IR-1/CR-1 October filers--CONGRATS TO ALL who received their NOA2s! And to those who are still waiting...you won't be waiting for much longer!

I was so excited to received NOA2...

I then started reading the processing times.

Does it really take 162 days from the NOA2 to the Interview? REALLY? :( Waiting a bit longer--doable. It's just so very frustrating and I feel like I am losing hope.

I do NOT want to be a cry baby (I totally am), just need to hear if this is how long it really takes and maybe some support! ERGH!

    gracias..

  8. Hi all who are waiting for their approval for the I130. It seems to take so long... I am wondering if you receive and RFE how long does it take them to process that?

I was made a new grandma a couple of days ago so that was awesome, just don't feel old enough ;) We will have been married one year in April and had hoped all this paper work would be over by then so we can finally be together.

    Thanks for any help,

    :)

i'm looking for the same info! if you find out, let me know! congrats on becoming a grandma!

  9. Hi all,

Several weeks ago, I realized that I had made 2 mistakes on one of the forms for the CR-1/IR-1 visa. On my (the petioner) G325A form I wrote all the places I had worked for in the previous 5 years, but forgot to add the complete addresses. I did the same thing on my husband's G-325A, but only left out the complete address on one place of work. I know that I will get an RFE for this. I am assuming around the time where VJ timeline predicts we would be getting our NOA2, right???

I'd like to know how long it will take to process?

    Thanks!

  10. Further to this....my child has a different bio-father. They wanted to see my custody docs before issuing the visa.

The reason is that they are hesitant to provide a visa to someone who may or may not be able to leave the country

without their child or have trouble at the border. Thankfully, I had the forsight to bring it and I got approved on the 9th.

I'm really sorry to hear about the setback.

I totally dig what you mean about the frustration, etc. etc.

    Waiting is the ######.

Good luck, may the time pass quickly.

    Mandando buena energia...

  11. If you have a co-sponsor who can comfortably reach the needed income/ assets,t hen there is no need to list your own.

Clothing etc cannot be counted, though if you had some major jewellery (huge diamonds or whatever), that could possibly count.

so i can count my Hope Diamond as an asset? haha..joking of course.

ok, sounds good. i don't think i'm going to list mine as on paper it looks as if i only have $1,000usd.

should i list it just to make it look like i'm making an effort...

    ?

  12. The guidance from your accountant does not jibe with the I-864 instructions.

Only assets that can be converted into cash within one year and without considerable hardship or financial loss to the owner may be included. The owner of the asset must include a description of the asset, proof of ownership, and the basis for the owner's claim of its net cash value.

    See this I-864 FAQ >> http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/in...83.html#_Assets

Also, page 8 of the I-864 instructions speaks to assets and their valuation.

ok, it makes more sense now. the "converted into cash" part.

i think i'm just bashing my brain in by reading the same forms over and over and over...

    thank you for your help!

  13. Hi all,

    I'm currently tackling the I-864..

I read the instructions but still have questions.

I just read a post from a few months ago that stated the answer to this, but I want to make sure/hear updated views..

If I (the petitioner) do not meet the financial requirements for my household should I STILL include my assets?

I spoke to an accountant/legal eagle and when I asked about what can be counted as an asset, he said I can count our airline miles, photographic equipment, clothing and jewelry. Is this correct?

And if so how to I prove their existence? Receipts? Bank statements? Do bank statements need to be letters from the bank or just a plain, ol' statement?

    Thanks a lot!

    Emma

  14. Hey guys!

Ok, I'm reviewing all of the information that I sent to the USCIS for the CR/IR-1. I just noticed that I left out some information on MY (the petitioner) G-325A. !!!!! I forgot to write the addresses of my jobs for the past 5 years!!

If I haven't received an RFE yet from the USCIS will I, before the NOA2?

Or will I get one from the NVC??

Is there anyway I can fix this????

    mieeeeerdaaaaa....

    !!!

OH! I forgot to say that I had sent the complete/correct information along with the I-129F instead of I-130...does this make a difference? Or no since they are two entirely different processes.

    Still can't believe what a f--- up I am!

  15. Meghan,

What someone said before, this here is the best support group.

I TOTALLY feel the same way.

When I talk to family on the phone there are always long pauses and then "wait, so when are you coming home?" ERGH!

    And friends say I-123 what?

Thanks for sharing your feelings because it's good to know there are many out there who feel the same.

    Hi Meghan,

I also find myself in the same situation. My husband is from Poland, and we submitted his AOS application at the beginning of September.

    October: Biometrics

    November: EAD

November: Interview letter, scheduled for January 5th 2010.

December: got letter in mail December 24, for unforeseen circumstances interview cancelled

( have to wait for a reschedule letter).

December 28: went to infopass appointment. They did not give us any information, just told us to wait for new interview letter)

January 5th: Showed up at the Hartford USCIS office anyway early morning. Guest what, since our file was there, we were interviewed that day at 2 pm.

the officer told us my G325 was missing, to mail that back as soon as possible along with 2 passport size photos.

January 7th: my husband took those documents to the USCIS office in person.

That is a total of 5 months in suspense.. I'm getting more anxious as time goes by. Oh and I forgot to mention that every time I check my case status online, it still say: request for evidence stage.

Remember you are not the only one going through all this. Please keep me updated on your case, and best of luck.

  17. Hi Emmamama,

So glad you're able to get a lot of info from those guides - I've found them super helpful in breaking things down :)

From what I understand, you're right, the AOS fee is $70, but I believe the IV fee is $400. I'm not sure how the cost of fingerprinting changes by region and country, but I believe for me in Canada, it will be about $45 (I haven't done this step yet, so I am far from positive!). Another cost to factor in is the cost of the medical, which I'm sure is different in different countries as well. I'm going to have mine done in Vancouver when the time comes, and for me it will be $330! And then of course there's the cost for all the different passport-type photos for different packages, etc....it's endless!

Not exactly a cheap proposition is it?! :) I hope you are getting the answers you need. Good luck!

    Kristi

WOW! So expensive...then you have to add in the translation costs, etc. Apart from this, we live in a country where 1 dollar is equal to four pesos. (3.87) So, $100usd would be $387! YIKES!!

    Thanks for helping me out!
