  1. Congrats on SIF Emmamama...

    I am waiting for mine. It was received by NVC on 19th. SO I am guessing anywhere between Apr 28 - 3rd May?? I have been guessing all along for last 4 years, hopefully this guess would be the right guess..if No RFE comes in..I pray.

    let me know when you have news!

    sending positive energy your way and mental messages to nvc to hurry the f-- up!

  2. :lol: :lol: Considering that the poor souls waiting for an interview at the Montreal consulate have a 3-4 month wait, mid-May is not that far away.

    Typically interviews for the following month are set by the second week of the prior month. Since your case was just completed you might expect your interview to be scheduled mid-May for a June appointment depending on how busy your particular consulate/embassy is.

    They will send you an email but there is no harm in calling as well.

    Sorry to hear about your grandfather but I don't think that will be enough to expedite an interview date.

    i know geez! the poor canadians having to wait i mean. there is such a low rate of argentine immigration that they process this stuff pretty quickly. (i hope!)

    yeah thanks, he's ok, just is in pain which makes everyday stuff difficult. he'll be good soon.

    i'll try calling and just checking email like a mad(wo)man.

    thanks!

  3. Here's the part we've all been waiting for. Your sign in fails! What happens AFTER you get a SIGN IN FAILED?

    Check the AVR/confirm with an operator that your case has indeed completed processing at NVC.

    CR-1 interviews are scheduled by NVC. The interview letter will be e-mailed to both the beneficiary and the petitioner.

    You can track the DHL packages sent out from Portsmouth, NH to your consulate.

    Keep bugging NVC till they assign your date. Not too much, though.

    You can check the US Consulate's website for updates on interviews. Most consulate's have an interview schedule updated bi-weekly.

    You can also call your consulate for regular updates on how busy the consulate is that month.

    Get your medical out of the way. The medical is country specific, so check out your regional forums.

    Usually, you need 2-3 photographs, passport, interview letter, and your medical records but I'm sure requirements differ.

    And also, many congratulations on your SIF!! Did I call it or what? :thumbs:

    hells yes. we need to start a pool or whatever they're called for guessing interview dates, etc. :D your interview is so soon!

  4. Hi guys,

    Our sign in failed and just got off the phone with operator who confirmed that our case was complete. She said that in the first 2 weeks of May the NVC will schedule the interview for the first week of June. Will it really take that long? Asking because as you guys know the AVR always estimates "6-8 weeks" for processing documents and it always takes 8-11 days.

    Do I just await the interview/medical exam email or keep calling and asking if they've scheduled the interview?

    Also she said that it'll be the first week of June. We have two plane tickets May 29. Obviously we are able to change these, the only problem is that starting June 1st the tickets go up A LOT. At this point what are a few more bucks, but still...it'd be nice to avoid paying more. Could I call the embassy and try to expedite it? ALSO: my grandfather just had this surgery on his sciatic nerve and we need to be there to help him. Would this be a good excuse? Should I talk to embassy or NVC??

    THANKS GUYS!!!

  5. Not that its my business but was your RFE for something you overlooked or missed or was it for additional detail or? Just trying to get the mind set of the NVC...

    The RFEs my husband and I had were the following:

    1. I didn't write a "0" in a certain spot on the I-864. I wrote "see attachment". Pay close attention to the tiny details.

    2. My husband's birth certificate was expired. (Of course it is not listed any where on the BC that it actually expires.) We had to get a new one, a new translation, and even though I'm not sure if they specifically ask for it, we got it apostilled.

    3. They claim tax returns were not included, even though they were.

    My advice: re-read every piece of info you submit and make sure you understand the instructions 100%.

  6. EMMA YOUR PACKAGE WAS RECEIVED OR IT WAS INPUTTED ON THE AVR ON THE 15TH? LET ME KNOW I AM CALLING SIGN IN FAILED FOR YOU TODAY OR TOMORROW

    Hey lady,

    I know they got it Monday, April 12..USPS delivered it then. And the AVR says they received it April 15, 20:10. NO SIF yet! Now I'm creating all these situations in my head that we get another RFE and blah blah blah...!!!!

    You know, the weekend is the worst because you have to wait and know that the process is on pause. Damn you NVC, work on the weekends! Hopefully it'll be this Monday!

    I got another RFE today. Looks like I won't be leaving NVC as quickly as I had hoped. :crying:

    Hopefully you will get your CC soon! Keep me updated!

    Pacmtrx7,

    Sorry to hear about the RFE. You'll get there soon! I'm sending lots of positive vibes your way. I'll let you know as soon as there's news.

  7. I'm in the same boat. The NVC received the check list on April 13th and I haven't heard anything yet and I'm still able to login to NVC payment page. What stinks for me is that I'm currently in Peru so I can attend the interview and bring my girls (wife and daughter) home with me. Does any know if I can request an earlier date (once I get it)?

    me too, here in argentina. (i didn't come down for husband's interview however, i've been here for 4 years. ha! :) still, wanna get this done asap.) plus, we have two tickets booked for the latest possible date before the tickets go up a few hundred dollars. if the interview date is after, i might go to back to chi town, wait for lucas there...depending on how long it takes. and then change his date. giving lots of details, but need to talk with you guys who understand. paciencia!! (patience, for those who don't understand spanish) you'll get there soon! let me know as soon you guys have info. and eat some ceviche for me. :) :) :)

  8. Hi Emma

    NVC received our RFE checklist on April 16th, so we are right behind you. I also saw many who got there cases completed 5-6 days after the RFE was received, but I guess it could be as long as 8-11 days. I guess we just need to be patient, but I feel you on the dyin' part! :lol: Let me now when you get your CC! I have been signing onto the payment portal like a madman! :P

    i totally feel you!!!

    checking every two seconds. will keep you posted. you too let me know!

  9. Hola amigo,

    You are preparing for something that may or may not happen. Why? I got a RFE rencently asking for a copy of a previous divorce decree. The RFE asked me for this...so I made a copy of the RFE and attached my decree to it. No problem, no cover letter, nothing.

    Con mucho gusto, :thumbs:

    Franc

    Hola Franc,

    Mil gracias por su respuesta.

    En realidad...

    We had 3 RFEs, trouble with BC, I didn't write a "0" in a certain part, blah blah blah..

    I received the coverletter with the barcode in an email.

    The thing is, should I attach a cover sheet stating what the packet includes? Or just attach barcode-coverletter with no intro??

  10. Hey

    did you receive the email with the checklist?? it brings a coverletter with barcoded thats the one that you must send with the RFE..

    yes, via email.

    i know, that's the cover letter with the barcode, but i mean should i write one before everything?

    like

    NVC

    Address

    To Whom it may concern,

    Attached is...

    Blah blah

    and then list the items, etc?

    Or just straight up send the things they asked for with the coverletter w/barcode?

  11. Hey guys!

    Happy Pesach/Easter...whatever you celebrate...

    Or just happy spring for those in the north and happy fall for us down south!

    Am preparing my RFEs, does anyone have a sample cover letter (NOT coversheet/barcode) they can pass me??

    Should I just use the format I used for sending in the actual I-864? Do I need to write/list somewhere exactly what I corrected?

    MUCHAS GRACIAS!

  12. I'm not sure for Argentina. I know that's the official list, but I also know that each vaccination has guidelines for who gets it when. Like... if you're over or under a certain age or are in a high-risk group. When you schedule, you can ask which vaccinations he can expect to receive or which ones he should be sure to have before the exam. Sorry.

    Yeah, I found this list and then found another that looks like a bar graph including ages, etc.

    Thanks so much for your help Bears!

    Good luck!

  13. Bring your husband's vaccination records to the medical exam. There the doc will transfer the info to the medical exam sheet, which is already in English. If he isn't up-to-date on any of the vaccinations, he might be able to get them at the exam. When calling and scheduling the medical exam, ask them. If they say no, then get them done beforehand. Don't forget to bring the passport-style pictures to attach to the medical exam sheet, too.

    ok great!

    so this list is correct?

  14. Hey guys,

    I am not at the medical stage yet (sending RFE packet out next week and hopefully medical exam is not far away after that), but wanted to be sure.

    When we receive the packet for medical exam, do we need to have all of these vaccinations beforehand? I found this list on gov website...

    * Hepatitis A

    * Hepatitis B

    * Influenza

    * Influenza type b (Hib)

    * Measles

    * Meningococcal

    * Mumps

    * Penumococcal

    * Pertussis

    * Polio

    * Rotavirus

    * Rubella

    * Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

    * Varicella

    We bring the list of vaccinations my husband has to the medical exam, right?

    And should I get this list translated even if exam is being done here, in Argentina?

  15. I got three RFEs..

    1. My husband's Argentine certified copy of his BC was NOT accepted. Even though it is recognized as a valid/legal document in Argentina, outside it expires every 6 months. Had to get a new copy. It was also laminated, which according to the officials issuing the new BC, once laminated it is no longer considered to be legal. Again, this only applies when the BC is being used OUTSIDE of Argentina.

    2. I, the petitioning sponsor, got an RFE for Form I-864, Part 6, Q#25. I did NOT file taxes because I did not make enough money. I didn't check either of the boxes for that question and I left the lines blank when it asks for reported income for the last 3 tax years. I wrote "see attachment" as I had attached a written letter explaining why I didn't file. I got the RFE for not writing zero. !

    3. My co-sponsor got an RFE for not including his 1040 and "all of his schedules", which he did. We talked to operator and they said to just send them again. ?
