NOTICE FOR ANYONE APPYING FOR A PARENT (IR-5).

I HAVE JUST GOT A RFE FROM THE NVC. NEW GUIDELINES ARE THAT THE PETITIONING CITIZEN MUST INCLUDE WITH THE DS-230 A ORIGINAL OF THE PETITIONERS BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE AND ANY DIVORCE PAPERS.

I will overnight them to NVC and hope it does not slow us down too much.

Above you mentioned that NVC asked you to send present marriage and previous divorce papers. Did you send divorce certificate or previous marriage certificate? I received an email for petitioner previous marriage certificate. I know it says on the NVC website

Can you please let me know.

I am getting ready to send originals back to NVC, but I do not have the previous marriage certificate. In the country where I had divorce you can not obtain marriage certificate after divorce. "ZAGS" issues divorce certificate.

Hi i was in the similiar situation , in my case they request previos marriage certificate even if you send the divorce paper they still need the marriege certificate from previos marrige . i got Rfe so i ill advice do not send the paperwork yet until you get the previos marriage certificate.good luck

Well, at least you have some answers. But, this is not how I was hoping things would end up for you. I'm so sorry that they gave you such misleading information. It makes me so angry that embassy staff are so uninformed and give out such misleading information!

I'm very much hoping that the visa will be in hand in time for the 18th.

My Dear fellow vj members,

If u all remember my husband filed an I-130 for my 2 kids in the Philippines and with the date and name of place of marriage in their birth certificates.

God made a miracle!!! I got an email from USCIS just a few minutes ago that my kid's I-130 were both approved!

Oh my God !! oh my God!!i burst into tears when i read the email coz i know it was a miracle.Thank you so much GOD for the greatest Christmas gift you gave me..Approval for the Removal of my condition and approval of my kid's I-130.

I can not thank all of you enough who have helped me and to those who have given me hope in believing in me.Did not hire a laywer just submitted all evidence i had.

Thank You Zenden especially for giving me the courage. God bless us all. Indeed there is a Miracle.

Do we have to send original/certified copy with DS230 for required document from any please - I mean if I mail it from USA or from India? because I heard from one of my friend if we are sending it from India then we just need to send copy of it not the original and then we need to submit original through VFS (India)?

any suggestion/help?

i did file for mom and dad , 1-30 was approve , i 864 was send and accept it. so my queston is

Can i sign the first part of Ds230 instead of my parents since they assign me to be to be their agent? Any replay with be a big help, Thanks NEla
