Are you thinking of a totally separate list, or enhancing the existing list?
Just adding this to our May list would be my suggestion, as a small table underneath the existing one maybe? Saying when service requests were placed, and when we received the response to them. What do you guys think?

Maybe we should start a tracking sheet for all our service requests, since nothing else is moving for us May filers. :-) How about it?

I'm sorry to hear that, Youtoo. Seems like the email responses are as varied as the different replies you get on the phone. ;-) Hopefully you'll get some sort of response soon if you put in a service request.

Nope, I put in a service request last week because I haven't received a bio appointment, a LUD, or any other updates. I was kind of hoping this would be a smooth and painless process, but I guess not...

Do not send an e-mail unless you phoned the service line 30 prior. You need to provide a reference number, a number that's given to you when you make the phone call. No ref # no e-mail response.
Incorrect - I did not provide a reference number, date of phone call, name of officer, etc. and received a reply right away.

I just received my CRI89 number.....my actual case number.....by email. And it wasn't because of the service request I put in last week. I had called USCIS about 2 weeks after getting my NOA1, asking for the case number. Couldn't get it. Last week, I called again (and couldn't get it again) but found out that you can email them if the phone service can't resolve your problem within 30 days. So I emailed the CSC and explained about my first call (meanwhile 30 days had passed) and within 1 business day, I got my reply with my CRI89 case number.

I just got off the phone with someone, and they would not provide a receipt number, but instead started some action that will find out why I have not received the appointment notice. She told me this process can take up to 45 days. They notify Vermont that I did not receive bio date, they in turn contact the local Bio office to schedule. This is disappointing, but I should not complain, because all along this journey there has never been one single delay. I guess it was to be expected. I was told not to call for 45 days, what does the board think of that? Happy 4th of July to everyone~
Same here, I just talked to them too! IO said she didn't have a case number in her system because bio had not been scheduled (which I expected because my old bio is less than 15 months old, and I probably won't have to do new bio). The IO put in a service request though since it had been more than 30 days since filing (service request reason states: 1) no bio appt, 2) plus applicant requests case number for online status check). She told me that within 45 days I'd either get a bio letter or a letter with my case number (if bio is not needed).
I did find out that if you don't hear anything within 30 days, you can use the service request confirmation number and email your service center directly. And now back to waiting...

I asked for the receipt number. At first the lady gave me the receipt number I already had so i had to clarify if she can provide to me the receipt number for the biometrics and she did. She was very nice I must say!
Just FYI, I put my receipt number in the system, the petition hasnt been touched since May 26
Thanks uham and mari&ryan. My problem is that I probably won't have a bio appointment at all, because my last one was less than 15 months ago. So I can't ask for the bio letter's receipt number. ;-)

so i manage to call today with an immigration officer who informed me my biometrics appt has not been set but she gave me the receipt number which at least gives me peace of mind for now
I think I'll call too today. What did you say to them to get the new number, Uham?
Last time I called, the officer said the only way to track 751s is to call them.

I'll add myself too. I think it'll be even more helpful if we include what kind of waiver from the joint-filing requirement we're under. Fixing formatting.

Same as NOA1, need to wait for the biometrics.... so retarded of USCIS to have a system that is semi functional....

My checks were cashed today, exactly one week after mailing my package. Here's a question to anyone who's already received their NOA1 or bio: Is the number on the check copy the actual case number (as on bio letter) or is the number on the check the same as the useless number that the NOA1 shows?

Ok, I'm an official May filer now as well. I sent my 3 pound package off today and will add myself to the CSC list.
I'm not sure if I am more scared of their decision, or glad it's done.

If I am not mistaken didn't USCIS automatically hand something down saying a widow of a USC spouse automatically is granted the conditions removed once the spouse has passed on and then you just file
an I-360 just so everything is all kosher?
Arcticblue, I've been told that the I-360 is only for widows where AOS was not filed or not yet approved (and they eliminated the 2-year requirement called the widow penalty last year). I think that's what you're thinking of. I fall under the ROC rules, and the I-751 even has an option for conditional spouses of deceased USCs. I do wonder if I could file the I-360 if they deny the I-751, though.

I'm sorry for your loss.
The death card is the all-overriding joker (don't take this the wrong way, please), so your petition has already been approved the moment they open the envelope. You can leave 90% out of it and still being approved. (Only exception is if the beneficiary murdered the USC spouse, which is bad for other reasons as well.)
Thank for your your assuring words and for making me laugh, Just Bob. I have been wondering about the likelihood of me being denied ROC.
Thank god the physician's letter makes it very clear how fast and unexpected my husband's death was! Because I was worried they might just assume he'd been sick for a while and I planned this all along, or something like that. Creepy.

I've got 'Chicago' on the brain today, sorry That's ok ;-) It WOULD have been nice to be able to get updates - since I most likely won't receive a bio notice, I won't be able to track my ROC online. Grr. (I've read that the NOA doesn't show the actual case number that can be tracked online.)

Your evidence looks good. I recommend you write a single check instead of two. Even though you may not need to do your biometrics again, but they will still cash the check.
Make sure you write on the envelop under USCIS's address "Attention: I-751 petition to remove conditions of status" - it will get it to the proper department a little faster.
I think this is for N-400 applications but I could be wrong.
Thank you for the tip, v333k. I also just saw on the instructions for the e-notification form that the Service Centers do not use it.

Suggest you add this form - http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD
gives you electronic notification of when the package is received.
That would be great Darnell, but it says "To be used by an Applicant or Petitioner who can file their application/petition at one of the three USCIS Lockbox facilities". I'll be filing through the California Service Center - is that considered a Lockbox facility?

Ok so I think I have everything for my package - I just assembled it (and it weighs over 2 pounds). No joint filing due to death, so it's a waiver case and I want to make sure it's approvable. All financial statements go back to last spring when we married and combined our accounts.

That is neat! Love it, bszoom42! Should we add total numbers to the top of each service center? That way we can watch it dwindle down nicely in the next few weeks when our letters come in. I also looked through our thread and saw a few member's dates of service requests so I'll add those. Let me know if we missed anyone. :-)
