Thank you very much, Okalian, for responding to my questions and thoughts. I appreciate it and your reply made me feel a lot better. A LOT.

I've been thinking along similar lines in the past couple of weeks. I filed in May, still haven't heard anything (other than a letter responding to my service request, saying "yeah, well, you'll hear from us"). I have no choice but to travel abroad in October and here's what I'm wondering:
1- If they're not done adjucating the case by the time I travel, do I need to take my NOA1 as an extension (although my GC is valid until next year, but I don't know if filing the I-751 early kind of "invalidates" it)? Should I take the marriage certificate? My spouse's death certificate? Or proof of our relationship even, for the officers at the POE?
2- If they ARE done by the time I travel but I haven't received the actual new card yet, can I still use the old card to get back in? I don't want them denying me entry based on their system saying that I got a new card and the old one can't be used anymore.
3- If they decide the case WHILE I'm abroad, and it is denied, do I get reentry? Or would you have to file MTR from abroad?
Sorry, guys, but when you don't hear from them about your case, your mind goes crazy. Well, you all know what it's like. Your input is heartily appreciated!
Plus, I still don't have a biometrics appointment and can't seem to find out if they're requiring me to get one or not (since my last one is less than 16 months old.)
I don't want to ASK for a bio appointment through a service request and then have it done although the adjucating officer wouldn't have required one anyway (thus me causing a delay in my case by getting the bio appt even though unnecessary).
On the other hand, I don't want to wait forever and down the road find out that I should have requested a biometrics service request now because the officer wants them (and therefore having a delay by simply waiting long to put the service request in). Did that make sense to anyone? I'm sorry.....

Instructions: If more than 30 days have elapsed since your NOA1 date and you have not received your biometrics appointment letter, you can call the NCSC (their number is on your NOA1) and put in service request to the service center which you filed (CSC or VSC) to find out the status of the biometrics appointment letter. Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

Good for you, Moimoi! That'll keep them from forgetting about your case in a lone corner of CSC somewhere....maybe we were all put in the same box and it was accidentally archived or something. Wouldn't put it past them.

Instructions: If more than 30 days have elapsed since your NOA1 date and you have not received your biometrics appointment letter, you can call the NCSC (their number is on your NOA1) and put in service request to the service center which you filed (CSC or VSC) to find out the status of the biometrics appointment letter. Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

i was so elated to get my CASE NUMBER and forget to follow up my service request ....
I know the feeling. If they did do a service request, she would have taken all your information and given you a reference number for the service request. If it's been more than 30 days since they received your package and you don't have your biometrics appointment, they do consider it missing and gives you the right to put in a service request.When you file the service request, you'll hear back from CSC within a couple of weeks as to when your biometrics are, or they will tell you why there is a delay.

Thanks for adding me on the MAY Filer's List ..... Got the chance to talk to a USCIS Officer regarding my CR I-89 receipt number. What she told me is, its not possible to get a service request right now because the USCIS needs to give me appointment date for the biometrics before they issue a receipt number for my case ...... she said it takes 6 months now to process the I-751 so what i can do is jusr wait for that BIOMETRICS letter ... as of now the Application Support Center where ill be having my biometrics is packed.
Does anyone know the E-MAIL ADDRESS of CSC where in i could inquire my CASE NUMBER?

Calling them three times, you'll get three different answers. It's the "misinformation line", after all. Yes, they CAN put in a service request if you have not received your biometrics appointment within 30 days of your NOA1 date. Just call back, tell them that, and you'll get another officer or agent to do it.
Plus, your case number does exist even BEFORE a bio appointment is given. I got my case number without a bio having been scheduled.
I posted the email address for CSC a few pages back in this thread, so you can look it up. However, 30 days must have passed since your call.

Received the response to my service request today. "Thank you for your inquiry. We will schedule a biometrics appointment for you and the appointment notice will be sent to the address on file." ........informative as always.

I am also a MAY filer .... received my NOA1 dated May 13 ........ im trying to add the receipt number to my portpolio on Case Status tool of USCIS website BUT the system said
"Your case cannot be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance,
please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283." I tried calling them but i wasnt able talk to an immigration officer ... i dunno what to do
its been two months since i mailed my packet to CSC and all i get is the NOA1. My GC expired this end of the month. Will i'll be in trouble?
Your NOA1 extends your status for a year. The actual (trackable) case number will be on your biometrics letter. You'll have to call them back and ask them to open a service request for the missing biometrics letter. If they don't, call back and someone else will do it ;-) Both 1st level agents and 2nd level officers on the phone can open a service request for you.

Instructions: If more than 30 days have elapsed since your NOA1 date and you have not received your biometrics appointment letter, you can call the NCSC (their number is on your NOA1) and put in service request to the service center which you filed (CSC or VSC) to find out the status of the biometrics appointment letter. Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

USCIS has published their processing volume for May....interesting to see the CSC's number of I-751 completions (second graph, green bar) has been cut in half. That ought to create a nasty backlog.
(You can change service centers and/or forms at the top of the graphs.)

Any news or updates in regards to missing biometrics letters?
Haven't heard anything back about the service request. I'm starting to wish I'd been able to file at VSC, seeing the April filers list.. Looks like we'll be delayed for at least 8-10 weeks because of the missing biometrics and the slowdown in CSC approvals.
Has anyone talked to an officer about the delay CSC seems to be having?

The payment issue seems to have been taken care of; and the same goes for the biometrics. Many DMV offices will let you renew a license with the 1-yr extension letter (your NOA1 letter), so you won't have to wait for the approval.
You're perfectly within the processing time and several other VSC filers got touches in late June. It's normal for it to show Initial Review right now. Oftentimes, there will be a touch on your old 485 too, especially when your case is getting close to approval. Join the May filers thread for other people's timelines and you'll see you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

This time, it's up to them to prove that your marriage was not in good faith. From what I've read, at the interview they just go over the paperwork and chat a little - plus you'll be done with all this afterwards. I wonder if I get an interview too...not sure what there is to talk about. I'll have to bring a oujia board if they want to question my husband.

I like it.
Cleaned up the formatting and added a brief instruction note on the bottom. I took out the total count of filers, because technically, we have some June filers here as well. Should we add the other June filers who qualify? Should make this a separate thread from the May Filers thread; perhaps a Missing Biometrics thread?I think people will be more likely to keep it up-to-date if it stays in the thread they're the most active in - and because the missing bios really don't affect a lot of other ROC filers (and the early June filers could of course fill it in too, and other June filers could copy it over to their thread). Also not everyone would keep up with it if it was in a thread by itself, I think.
Let's see what it looks like in combination with our regular tracking sheet...

I'm in the same boat, bszoom42. No bio either, despite two calls and a service request in early July. I sent them another email this morning.
Have you had any touches after your service requests? My case hasn't even been touched since May.
