I was just wondering how much the medical stuff costs in New Zealand.
I can either go to Christchurch before my interview OR I can go to Auckland on the day of my interview (according to the consulate)
I remember in 2005 my medical was done in Christchurch and consisted of a bunch of questions, a X-Ray but no blood samples or any shots as I was uptodate (not anymore though) it also costed next to nothing but I have heard it can cost an awful lot of money now days.
Any members done the med in Christchurch or Auckland in the last couple years can you please let me know the costs and procedures.
Thanks
Scott

So when I emailed the US consulate, they had already contacted me to say that they had my file. I told them my time frame for getting back to the US and they were very nice and sent both packets 3 and 4 together to speed up the process...
With my application, I actually did a direct consular filing (as I was living in London). This really speed up the process as I was able to file directly at the US embassy in London and was able to bypass the NVC.
Sorry I can't be more help!
I did DFC in 2005 when we moved to the US the first time; they really screwed things up removing that option for a lot of countries.
Since I have done both DCF and also gone through NVC I can personally vouch that the NVC sucks; complications after complications and the waiting times, our file was on someones desk sitting waiting to be closed out for a month! incompetence!.

kelnjohn I'm not sure who you were in contact with at the consulate but both times we emailed them asking for an appointment or even to see if I can schedule my medical we were told that they can not in any way schedule our interview until the NVC sends them our file which according to you is complete bogus.]
It is unfortunate and very very frustrating that they are unable/willing to help us out like they did you even though we have extenuating circumstances requiring us to be out of NZ by mid January.

Thank you very much; my wife will send them an email in the morning.

I hope Obama wins, I can't stand Mitt Romney!
Isn't it funny how the rest of the world thinks Romney is a nut job? I mean take a look at Romney's track record and all the things the man has flip flopped on.
If you stand back and look at this whole election from a nonpartisan view point it is easy to see that Obama will be and has been a much better president than Mitt Romney ever would/could.
Sure Obama is no peach but hes also no lemon like Romney and he has helped America in the last 4 years turn the economy around. Maybe next election we will get a better choice of candidates but for now Obama is the man for the job.

Called NVC 7 days ago and found out our case has been completed and today we get the following email:
Dear Sir or Madam:The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner
and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.
The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment
until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.
The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of
the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at
the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html
I read on this forum that they do not send out case complete emails like this; is this a new thing?
thanks

He is the worst in my lifetime, and I lived through the Carter years. No administration has screwed the economy as bad as this one.
You've got a short memory then.

Since we are posting images.

It's a good thing :-) if the right had their way homosexuality would be illegal punishable by death; teaching our children tolerance is the way forward.

Let me rephrase my question: Why are you asking stupid questions?
If he's raising foul mouthed kids, he sucks @ parenting like he sucks @ being president....understand now?
You are just making assumptions; you have no clue if Obama is a good parent or not but judging from interviews with people close to him I would have to say I think he is a pretty good father.
As for being a bad president....... done a heck of alot better than Bush ever did/could; he's managed to turn the economy around pointing in the right direction, sure not as quick as we would have liked but when you have a huge mess to begin with it's not going to be easy.
Mitt Romney will destroy all the positive that has happened in the last 4 years; he was a shitty governor, a morally corrupt businessman, a flip flopping liar on many many issues and yet fox "news" watching folk think Mitt will do a better job..... get your head out of your a$$.
Obama is not:
- A socialist
- A Communist
- Born in Kenya
- A Muslim (not that that matters)
He is also not the worst president America has had; he's not even close to being the worst but you folks seem to think he's the antichrist or something... jeeze.

I wouldn't stress about it; the NVC screws up all the time.
Last week we got an email from them saying that they can't apply for residency for our US born son (duh!)
-
HI KiwiJanet I was wondering what exactly you said in your email to get things to speed up.
Our case has been completed at the NVC as of the 19th October and we really want to be in the US for Christmas; we've got pet's to arrange flights for as well as our own plus my medical in Chch.
Thanks

It means the address of the beneficiary is incorrect and they need the correct address.
The NVC tried to send the beneficiary mail (I presume you are the beneficiary?) and received mail back from the post office saying that the address provided is wrong.
I suggest you check to see if you have mixed up the numbers in your address.
-
Yep; looking forward to it :-) Last time I had an interview there (2005) it was only 5 mins :-) auckland for 5 minute interview :-(
-
Got a checklist in the email today with nothing in it so we waited on hold for 20-30 mins to be told the case has been complete.
-
Hi Scott 'n' Jess.
Yeah, call every day! I just called today (talked to them last on Friday after getting a false checklist) to find out that our case is complete (as of the 15th). They won't email you at this stage--they said they'd email next when an interview date is assigned.
There are three (maybe four) of us all at the similar stage to be interviewed in Auckland. Hope your case moves quickly. I know I'm getting antsy!
Heather
NVC is starting to really get on my nerves. We called them yesterday and STILL no progress; apparently it is sitting on someone's desk unmoved since the 14th of September.
The person at the NVC said the next time we should call is the 30th of October which is 12 days away; we really want to be in the USA for Christmas but if they keep dragging their feet we will miss out.

how did u go about doing the NZ police clearance? did u send the filled form with the IV packet?
Sent the form to the US consulate in New Zealand which it says to do and then the US consulate in NZ sends it to the NVC.
