Mmmmmmmm I am not sure if this is good news or not, time will tell I called DOS today and was told that our case is still under AP but the good news is that the Embassy started working on the case case the day they got it back from NVC. Okay thats the news I got but I did come research and found out that if a year passes after the security checks they have to do an update which can take 4-6 weeks so that means we are at week 3 also i was explaining to the lady at DOS that I have to buy my ticket for Ukraine on thursday she said good call us before you buy it. Gosh I dont know what to do? Should I go or wait and see what happens I can go in September if I dont go now and if he doesnt make it here. She also asked me if I could delay my vacation for a few weeks mmmmmm I wonder if she can see something she isnt telling me. By the way it was Sara she is so nice. Help what should I do.
Wow ,maybe she sees something she couldnt tell you.Hope it is great news for yall soon...

Congratulations...... ....doing the happy dance for you.Glad to hear good news for someone this week....Good luck on your poe.

I was wondering if anyone is going through the same thing... I have searched and searched and havent been able to find anyone in my situation... here it goes:
Husband had his interview in New Delhi on the 27th of May. I was able to attend the whole interview with him I watched the whole process.. finger prints, pre-interview <checking all our papers> and then finally the interview.. The Lady who did the interview made us both take the oath... and then she preceeded to ask me the questions... very simple like how we met... bla bla bla.. then she wanted to see some photos... then she looked at me and smiled and said I want to wrap this up really fast so flip quickly... so I did... while I was flipping she asked me if my family attended the wedding and I gave her a great big smile and said yes, they attended via web cam mom, dad, brothers, aunt uncles and grandparents... here let me show you... I fliped to the couple of pages where you could see my computer and web cam in the wedding ceromony... she started laughing and said I have seen enough... she scribbled some things on the file of paper work.. and then said congrats you are approved you will have your visa in 1 week... I then asked her if it would be ok to pick it up at the VFS office.. she said sure no issues with that... then we left on cloud nine she didnt hand us anypapers/slips nothing... we just walked out smiling
Sooo... From the VFS website and other ppl I have talked to I know that within 3 buisness days we should of been issued the visa.. when this did not happen I called the embassy and talked with a guy... and he told me that we were put on AP.. I was like what!!!! I couldnt think..so I let him go... collected my thoughts and called them back.. <I think this is what irritated the next lady > This reallllly rude Indian Lady is who I talked to next.. I asked her about hubbys visa and she again told me that we were put on AP... I asked her why the Interviewer told us that we were approved... the Lady said that she didnt know that they were going to put him on AP... then I asked why wasnt he given any slip or paper.. no 221g nothing... she said she couldnt disclose this... I then asked if the embassy puts everyone on AP she said no only a few.. I asked her how the Embassy would contact us if they needed any additional information or to let us know about the visa and she said that I would come to know.. I could see that I was getting nowhere except on her last nerve.. so I asked her how long should I should expect my husband to be on AP, she said that normal is 4-6 weeks and that I could call back next week to check on the status..... so now I sit in the firey pits of hell... I meant in India at a nice guest house... confused..
sooo please direct me... I know that I might never know what this AP is for.. but I have racked my brain.. if they were doing a name check.. my god wouldnt you think they would have already done that? Background checks.. I mean ugggh.. I really wish the Lady doing the interview wouldnt of smiled at me and said "Congrats you are approved" it is kinda like a horror film.. the smile and the voice is even comming in my dreams!!!!
as I am writing this Hubby is singing..... "You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.Feel the city breakin'And ev'rybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.Ah, ha, ha, ha,Stayin' alive.Stayin' alive.Ah, ha, ha, ha,Stayin' alive.
Well now, I get low and I get high. And if I can't get either I really try" gotta love the freaking BeeGee's!!!!
There is an ap forum .It is under wavers and administrative processing. There u can find the ap forum and add you name to the list of ap people....And get more information on background checks and ap..

I actually got some news..not great news but not bad news either... They returned all of our evidence and stated that they didnt need any additional evidence from us.Until now we have been "case is pending review by a co the letter says that our case is now undergoing Additional Processing. IMO the good thing is that they know they cant deny us a visa at this point else they would have already with some ficticious reason, they will likely be calling our friends and relatives and neighbors in the coming month to try one last attempt to screw us over.... after that they will issue the visa... likely in the next month or two...
So from the letter we know we are only at a consular level AP and that the case has been 'touched' in the past week... and we know(from the experiences of others) to expect some phone calls...
well our has been at additional processing at the embassey level in sweden for 6 months now.they told us we were approved but under ap.Form our liason at the congressmans office e no they havent done our security checks yet .I dunno wth they are doing.lol ...torturing us i think.

Ok, doesnt anyone hear any good news yet?

Good morning all,
Finally my fiancé had made it home. On Saturday he arrived in JFK. He called me from his cell to tell me he landed. I was waiting at that terminal for about 2 hours since I took earlier flight.
He called me at 3:45 PM ET. I was standing till 5:40 ET with no sign of him, but as I was turning my head, he came out, as soon as he saw he, he started to smile.
He was sweating badly. He said this airport is a ZOO and truly it was, because 3 flights came in from Egypt, Dubai and Amman, brought a lot of Arabs, Indians and some Asians. The arrival room was packed; some people don't even have manners.
Anyway, I asked him how it went, and here it is:
He said he filled out the White card I-94 as I told him, since he is Canadian; he never filled out any card during his visits to USA only card he fill is customs. He arrived to the passport agent line. He mentioned all windows were open. He stood in the visitor line; the officers were sharp directing people and moving some to the US line.
He arrived at counter after 1 hour. The officer was an ex-marine. He started to talk to my fiancé about his role with US army in Falujha since the officer served in same part of country. He asked him how he we met, what do I do for living, and when we are planning to get married. My fiancé asked him about the EAD card, and office said that other agents will take care of it.
He then was moved to area location 2. There were lot of people sitting, he thought it is going to take another long hour, but after 10 minutes, officer came out, called his name and he gave him the passport with I-94. My fiancé directly flipped the back and saw the EAD stamp dated till August 27th. He moved to take on his bag and then exit. He said it was easy with no issue, only problem the heat and too many people.
We spent one night in NYC; we both did not like it since it was crowded. We were glad to go back to Chicago last night. We are looking to do the civil wedding this week and start applying for all needed document. The good part, his DL from Canada allows him to drive here.
Thank you Visa journey for your help, I am glad I come here to read about anything which allowed me to use it during out process.
Today is our 1 year engagement anniversary and sure after 1 year he is finally home.
Good luck everyone.
Im so glad he had an easy POE. New York airports are a zoo.I know you are glad to finally have him home.Good luck to you both.
