  1. We are on #20 of the flowchart (K1-VISA) and we have read the guidelines but still a bit confused. We already applied for SS#, got married and I (petitioner) have done my change of name.

    Our package includes:

    I-485

G-325a- Do we need this since we already completed this when we initially applied for the KI-VISA?

    I-765

    I-864

I-693- Not sure if we need this again because he has already done the first stage of his medical examination after I-129F was approved before his interview in Lagos

Are we missing anything or are all these forms required in the AOS Package?

We live in Maryland, do we mail it to Baltimore since we are close to Baltimore or Chicago Lockbox? If Chicago? Which address? I read somewhere that you can mail AOS to the nearest processing center (not sure if I misread)?

Do we send all these forms at once?

Please advise, thank you as always

  3. Thank God we got married on Friday and we want to apply for the necessary documents so he could get a job ASAP by the grace of God. I was reading the flowchart and was a bit confused.

I understand we can apply for a Temporary EAD while we apply for AOS but it expires after the 90 days, does this make sense? Do you think it is necessary, how long does it take?

We have already already applied for his SS# do we just wait for that to come first?

I just want to know pretty much what we do from here, I've already applied for my change of name, I dont know if that helps any. Please advise.... Thank as always

  4. My fiance just got in the country couple of days ago on a K1 and we are planning on getting married ASAP.... The court said both bride and groom should have SS# before Marriage license can be issued. Since he does not have a SS# yet, I'm thinking mine should be enough.... has anyone experience this before. Is this for all States? please advise

  5. I want to thank God and also all my VJ friends, our visa was granted and my betterhalf is home.... it was a stressful experience in Lagos but God helped us to sail through.... He said the interviewer asked questions about me and my family.... How many siblings I have and if they were married. The college I graduated from and He told the inteviewer I came with him to the interview but of course they didnt let me in. We thank God for His mercies, we need to start working on what's next in the process, all the best to everyone still waiting, it will come soon.

  7. If something was wrong they advise the person to not attend the interview and tell them what was wrong. There were a couple of failures at the medical the day we got ours. Some where told they needed treatment ( disease) or further medical evaluation ( heart defect) or that they were unapproved ( HIV) I wonder if the new stance on AIDS will change that ? They were a DV lottery couple.

    Thank you guys,

@ NigeriaorBust, I see under your timeline that the Visa was not ready after a week which is their normal timeframe for VISA pick-up after approval. Am I reading it wrong?

  8. My fiance's interview went very well and he can pick up his visa next Tuesday......we feel all of our prayers have been answered and we can now be a family....my baby girl gets to meet her daddy! I love phone calls at 3:30 am with such wonderful news!:dance:

He said the employees at the consulate were very very nice, he was really surprised as the interviewer only asked him 5 questions. How did you meet your fiance, in what chatroom, do you have photos, can I see your daughter's birth certificate, why is your name not on the certificate (CA law for unmarried couples, we provided the notarized documents amending the birth cert). My fiance told our ENTIRE story when asked how we met......figured he gave so much information there were not questions left to ask? The interviewer looked at the front page of the affidavit of support, said everything looks in order, excused herself, came back with a card listing when he can pick up the visa next week!

I pray to hear this type of new for all the other interviews coming up soon! :star:

I'm sooooo happy for you and congrats

  15. Question if anyone knows for sure:

I work for a Fortune 500 company and I am about to request a letter From my Employer Verifying Position, Title, and Salary for my I-134 Form. I can get a signed letter direclty from my Executive Director verifying all of the requested information. Is it necessary to go through a Human Resources Department for this letter? Does anyone know if a letter directly from my boss (ED) will be acceptable (Easy to get and quick)? Will this be returned unless it's obtained through the "Human Resources" department (Will take a longer period of time to obtain). Anyone know? Thanks! Best regards to all. Craig.

For confidentiality, I went through my HR Dept and the lady also added her business card in case the embassy has any questions. All the best!
