  1. Martin09,

If the passport was issued within past 6 months then you need to get PCC from Local Passport Office.

If the Passport was issued more than 6 months then you need to get PCC from both Local Passport Office and The District Police Office serving the applicants place of residence.

Based on what i read on the forum if you have submitted one PCC then you will not get RFE but you will get an email to produce the other one at the time of Interview.

I submitted only one PCC issued from Passport office for both my parents and my Case is completed and waiting for the interview email. My parents have the other PCC ready which as issued by the local District Police too.......so get prepared with both of them.

    Good Luck! Thanks, Raj

    Hi Raj456,

It's not Local Passport office. It is Regional Passport Office.

The District Police Office is called the Local Office.

You can obtain Regional/Passport PCC from the Passport Office.

You can obtain District/Local PCC from your Local Police Station/Office.

  2. Hi,

1.My spouse (beneficiary) is trying to apply for Police certificate (PC) in India.

2.Local Police officials ask for a proof from 'National Visa Center' (NVC) to issue PC.

    3. My spouse showed them the instruction sheet from immigration web site (www.immigrantvisas.state.gov) and "Document cover sheet" pertaining to beneficiary.

    4. Police officials says that they need a cover letter from NVC which specify to obtain PC.

    5. Petitioner called NVC and requested for a letter. NVC denied to sent that letter.

    6. NVC asked the beneficiary to fill up the DS-230 form, obtain all documents, and send it to NVC.

    7. My spouse sent the DS-230 form and all the required documents except Police Certificate.

    My question is,

    Q1. What happens next?

Will NVC issue a letter to my spouse(beneficiary) asking to obtain PC or the missing documents?

    OR

Will NVC schedules the interview directly?

    Please share your experiences.

    Thanks

Tell your wife to show them a copy of NOA1 and NOA2 and the document cover sheets for DS-230 and AOS.

    Maybe this will help.

This is what my wife submitted.

    Good luck

  5. Hi metro420,

If you gave NVC your and your husband's email, they will send you both the email regarding the DS-3032. If not, it will come in mail. I think you have to fill out the form they send because it has your case number barcode on top of the form. But I don't know if you can prepare DS-3032 in advance. Call NVC about that. My wife waited till she recieved the form in email. Then she emailed NVC and she attached the filled out DS-3032 with the email.

Regarding assigning an agent, I would suggest you become an agent since you understand the process better.

I made my wife as an agent and it didn't delay our process. I just made sure we went over everything she filled out before sending to NVC. Like we went over every single line of DS-230 and the documents needed to be sent with the package. She also scanned and sent the copies to me just to be on the safe side. If you take all the precautions needed, there won't be any chance of a mistake.

This is just my opinion. Do whatever is best for you and him. Good luck :)

  6. Hi neyay,

Is your I-130 approved? Did you get NOA2 in mail? If it was aprroved, then you and the benificieries must have gotten an email asking to send DS-3032 Choice of Agent form. It doesn't take too long after you recieve NOA2 to get an email from NVC regarding DS-3032. And when you email choice of agent to NVC via email, they send you a confermation email saying they have recieved your choice of agent and will send you the IV fee. This shouldn't take more than a week.

I don't know about parents, but for spouse, depending on when you filed, it takes 1 to 4 months for the approval of I-130. I have noticed that if you filed the petition in August, it's approved very fast, like within a month.

  7. Hi SGSG,

    I'm surprised by this!!! :wacko::wow:

I suggest you go back to the embassy personally and ask them for your visa/passport. Also, write them an email explaining your situation. Did they give you anything at all, like something saying we are verifying your documents?

    Good luck!

At the end 'she kept my husband's passport and gave NO FORMs. She said she will verify 'marriage certifcate' format and send visa in a couple of days/ less than a week.

We sent an email to embassy for status, got reply saying it is under review and we will let you know once review is complete.

If you emailed them few days ago, email them again. And if possible, go personally to the embassy.

  8. hi everyone, just wanted to know , how can i show phone calls as an evidence when the no. i dial doesn't show up on my verizon bill because i use calling card to call her, i first have to dial the third party no . then my pin then her number. So on my bill i only see the third party no.

any suggestions, i only have cell phone

    thanks

    Hi sam singh,

I think you should save all the calling cards that you have used so far. Don't throw them away. Like others say. I would suggest you get a plan that shows calling history on your bill or their calling history.

Currently, I m using unlimitedindiacalling plan. Their website is http://unlimitedindiacalling.com/plans.php They provide you with online account, called numbers, and calling history. If you call like crazy like me, I would suggest you get this.

Also, there are other websites like Amantel.com, pidipompi.com, and ones mentioned by others.

I don't know if you have home phone, but if you do look into Vonage. They have a plan for 24.99 unlimited calls around the world, which includes calling India. The only thing is that you need internet.

    Good luck!

  9. Count me in!

This wait is killing me :bonk:

    I am in..

BTW we had parallel K3 processing with CR1 and it finally made it there to the embassy. Last week US embassy called and wanted my wife to come deal with the next steps. Since our CR1 is completed and we talked and decided not to pursue K3. Do I have to let US Embassy know that we are dropping K3?

My wife was concerned that if we don't inform them, if they would create issues while in CR1 interview...

I don't think they would create any issue. But since they called, I think you should let US Embassy know that you no longer want to go farther with K3 processing since your CR1 is completed.

Good luck with the rest!

  10. Hello Christeen,

    thanks for your reply!

What if I am planning to have earlier medical? Do you think 2 pics will be fine?

    Hi metro420,

    U welcome,

Send more than 4 photos just incase. The more the marrier!

And I don't think you can have an earlier medical done because they ask for an appointment letter that comes in mail after your case is complete.
