First, tell her to call the Chennai Embassy and explain them your situation and also ask for the case number. Also call AOS and ask them about your case number.

Second, tell her to go to the Passport Office with the interview letter and tell them that she needs the passport for the interview. And that she can't attend the interview without the passport. They don't have a choice but to speed up the process and give her passport back.

Worse case scenario, which I'm praying will not happen, she might have to reschedule the interview because she doesn't have her Passport Clearance yet.

My personal opinion, if for some reason she can't get the passport back on time from the Passport office, tell her to call the embassy or email them and ask them for a future interview date instead of going without the original passport. But as always, you can ask the Embassy if they would allow her to attend the interview.

I POSTED THE INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE IN EMBASSY REVIEWS SECTION.

She went in at around 7:30 AM.

At 7:45 AM, American officer took finger prints and took interview letter.

After that she sat down for 10 mins.

Then they called her to window number 7 and asked if she needed an interpreter.

Then they took Original passport and asked if she had her old passport. Then they gave back old passport.

After that they returned the original documents and copies that she submitted with DS-230.

Then Indian officer asked:

Where are you going?

Who’s calling you?

Gave my dad's name and asked if she knew him? Who is he?

Gave my name and asked if she knew me? Who is he?

Go sit, they will call u.

She waited, waited, and waited..........

Then she was called in at 11:15 AM to window number 9.

There was an American and an Indian lady.

Then took an Oath.

Gave my name and asked if she knew me? Who is he?

Where does he live?

Who is calling you?

Who helped you get married? How did you get married?

How did they contacted you?

When did he see you first? and the date?

When did you get married?

Who sponsored your husband?

What kind of work does he do?

Why didn't he come for almost one year? Because of work.

Asked her to show wedding album.

Then those sweet words.

She asked if she could pick it up at VFS office. They said it will be mailed to you.

Interview was 10 mins

She said that overall the interview experience was perfect.

Everyone was very nice to her.

Hello everyone. My husband and I attended his interview Jan 11 in Abu Dhabi. Everything went very well and Alhamduillah his visa was approved. He was asked to pick it up next week. I posted a review if anyone needs details. Overall the interview itself took just a few minutes.

I hope so too. Wait till you get the interview appointment letter(Packet 4) either in email or mail. You need that for medical. Once you recieve the letter, you can schedule the medical appointment.

Since India schedules interview dates in the second week of every month, you should get your interview date for early or mid February, depending on the case number assigned. Login failed means that NVC has forwarded your file to the Indian Embassy. Hopefully, as soon as they recieve your file in maybe 3-4 days, they will schedule your interview. Call AOS if you have any questions as NVC won't answer your questions since they forwarded your file.

So, the documents have been mailed out and now we wait wait for the response from the consulate. So, due to my anxiety about this process I had emailed the consulate letting them know we are mailing the pending documents stated on the 221g, and to extend the petition if they need time to make the decision. Before this I had mailed the consulate a letter directly asking them to request my petition, and I don't know if that had any relevance to their responce. So, I emailed the Mumbai consulate and they responding via email telling me that I have until one year until Dec 6, 2010 to submit the documents. They actually even gave me a date . This is the best email I have ever gotten from them. I am sure we will not need this time. But, does this mean that there is some hope for our visa now . I thought they would not extend our petition and we were doomed. This email gave me some hope after all. Yay!!!

You welcome. If your wife recieved her passport within the 6 months, then you only need Passport PCC as stated on the website. Now, if her city provides the District PCC, I think she should get it just incase. But there shouldn't be any problem with only Passport PCC.

With my wife's case, she only got Passport PCC since her passport is less than 6 months old. She lives in Gujarat and when she went to get District PCC, they said they no longer provide District PCC.

In conclusion, if your wife can obtain District PCC even though it's not required since her passport is less than 6 months old, she should get it.

I read from earlier post that Indian applicant requires both police certificates.

I only know about police certificate from city POLICE CHIEFs where you stayed for 6 months after your 16th B'day.

Please let me know about this...

India applicant does require 2 police certificates; 1 from Local/District Police Office and 2 from Local Passport Office.

I suggest you get the police certificate from the Passport Office first because once you get Passport PCC, you can show that to your Local/District Police Office and they will give you Local/District PCC fast in like 2 to 3 days hopefully.

I also suggest you wait for the NOA2 to arrive in mail before stating the PCC process.
