I hope everyone does get theirs on time, I've come to a point where I don't care how long it takes but I just hope it doesn't get lost!
Longdistance... The nvc got it on May 28?, so why did you put June 1 on your timeline?

I've noticed there has been a change this year, last year by average it took no more than 3 months for the approval of I-129F petition and the NVC would mail the petition to the assigned consulate the same day they would send the notice that they received it. This year I'm seeing that USCIS is taking more than 3 months to approve it and NVC is taking more than a week to process the case. From what I know, NVC usually stamps the petition the day it is received but does not send a letter right away saying they received it. They send a letter once they do a name check and a quick review and then they assign a case number and then send a letter to the petitioner saying we received your case and assigned a case number as well as sending the petition to the assigned consulate. Now I'm seeing that some procedures have changed. Hopefully in a matter of a month, everything will be clear for those who are stuck in AP

I thought every original document retrieved from the beneficiary's country should be translated... that's what it said in the packet 3.5 that they sent out... I guess every consulate is different

THANK YOU EVERYONEE.... i feel a bit more relaxed now... i hope the feeling stays with me for another 2 weeks lol
ok payxiba, you just brought that feeling down now ....

how do they get shipped out? I'm sure it's ground shipping and the commute is probably 8 hours since my petition was processed at vermont... do they ship it out at the end of every week?

I've been waiting about 2.5 weeks for a notice from NVC.. I called NVC this morning and said we have nothing showing in the system and she said it is still in transit probably... it can take up to 2-4 weeks or 90 days? Does anyone know if it's possible that they lost the petition while in transit?
-
awwww maire i'm soo happpy for youu!! at least now you know where you guys stand, only thing that is left is the interview and he'll be on his way to be with youuu
-
I called NVC and the operator said my case is still in transit since nothing is showing up in the system... how long does it usually take to get to NVC?
-
Wait is it different when it comes to US embassies? I thought they give you an interview date after you complete packet 3 or 3.5, and then they send a packet 4 which is the interview letter... i'm lost

Maire... congrads on your NOA2!!!! did you get a letter from NVC too? I see on your timeline the NVC received it and sent it out
-
thank you... yes it does help a lot!! Just knowing how the officers are in Islamabad helps a bit
-
Hey boundless... did you call up NVC today?
-
I've been checking the reviews; however there hasn't been any recent reviews for K-1 interviews at Islamabad... if any of you had an interview or your loved one had an interview please post it here. It would help me out as well as others... thank you!

if there are any other petitions on the beneficiary and a security back ground check
-
really? I called the USCIS today and I said I got my notice of approval, and they said once you get the notice of approval, the petition is no longer at the service centers, it is at the National Visa Center... and when I called up the automated machine today, I put in my receipt number and there was no case thus far. I spoke to an operator yesterday and they said to call back 2 weeks after the NOA2. I'm going to wait a few more days, and if nothing happens I'll call them again.

Another question... how long does it take for NVC to send a letter informing about the case number assigned and consulate it is sent to?
could be a couple weeks, sometimes less sometimes more
But, once you get NOA-2, you can call NVC and get your case #.
I called but they said they haven't received it... they said call 2 weeks after your NOA2... and you asked about the packet 3... once the NVC sends the petition to the assigned consulate, your fiance should be getting packet 3, 1 week after the consulate receives your petition but the time varies according to the volume of cases
here is the flow chart http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1flow

Once the I-129F petition is approved at the USCIS, it goes to the National Visa center... but does the National visa center have to approve it too, or they just assign a case number and send it to an embassy abroad?
NVC does not do any approval... they will assign a case number, do a name check and when cleared, they will forward
a name check on me or the beneficiary? or both?

Well from reading the forums in the administrative process forum, I read a lot of posts that says most AP are done on males, but just specified their logical assumption which is security measures.
Ed and Cindy, most AP are common in middle east and africa?
