  1. I hope everyone has a fast process at AP... before you know it, you call to check again and the operator asks what is the beneficiary's name and date of birth... then you will be soooooo happpy that you tell the operator thank you like 10 times lol I did that haha... I wonder what kind of impression she had of me lol

  2. if they have engagement certificate, it'll say engagement certificaite. and engagement doesnt hold any legal grounds unless u want to file for some papers. but, taking any certificate, and crossing out and writting over it disolves the purpose of that certificate. i mean, u might as well make a hand made certificate using a computer and write 'engaement certificate' or something. not trying to knock you down or anything but people never seem to stop amazing me.

none taken... I was just as amazed as you when a LAWYER told me an engagement certificate would make the case stronger!

However, that petition is over with... the best thing for me to do is wait it out and see what happens with this one.. I'll update you all on my unique situation

  3. use this principal - KISS = Keep It Simple and Stupid

You give them 'just enough' papers - you NEVER take a certificate, and cross anything out. Don't you think if such was allowed, they'd make a special certificate for engagement?

Since your from India, do you have engagement certificates?

My prior lawyer said that engagement certificates exist in India and other parts of Asia.

My theory is if it doesn't exist in the U.S., it doesn't exist ANYWHERE else, but no he persisted... you all are doing the right thing by not having a lawyer and going with the DIY route

  4. Man...Delhi said they mailed the packet out on June 17..its been 2 weeks...how the heck long does it take to go from one indian city to the other!? I think it was sent via a Camel.

I got everything ready...even PCC for wife! I am just worried how long Packet 3 will take over Packet 4...... any ideas.?

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL hahahaha

  5. Has anyone asked their fiance/fiancee to send the sign forms (DS 156, DS156K, ETC.) to you so you can include your I-134 forms and send the completed packet 3.5 from the U.S. to the consulate?

The reason why I'm saying is because my fiance's residency is NOT in a remote area where it is a guarantee that he will receive it. It happened before! (even though I specified that the courier should call my fiance so he can pick up the parcel)

The I-134 documents (plus I have co-supporters, so it is a LOAD of documents) are pretty confidential so I dont want to take the risk to send it.

  6. have you tried talking to Mr. DD about it? That's what I did and found out why.. she had the same name as someone else who applied, and they thought she was already married.. that's why it took so long for us.. that's what he told us in his reply email.. so then I kept on bugging him and he finally said he will talk with State Dept about our case and that his office thought that there was no reason for denying our case..

    who is Mr. DD?

  7. I had no income for 2008 therefore I did not file. I took a sabbatical plus I took 2 trips to the Philippines in 2008 plus 1 in Feb. 2009. We are just submitting 129-F, I will be working so if I bring a letter from employer showing adequate income plus some copies of pay checks for this year will that be enough proof by itself with no prior tax returns?

I believe you need documentation from the IRS stating that you did not do any tax returns for that reason. The best thing would be a current employment letter that states when you started, what your yearly salary would be, the hourly rate, and how you get paid (weekly, bi weekly) and how much. You should make copies of your 3 recent paysteps.

A bank letter would also be good if you have any in savings.

  8. if they didnt say it was AP, i would assume "under review" just means they didnt get to it yet.

I hope you're right. This whole process is such an emotional roller coaster. I thought it was smooth sailing after USCIS. It probably still is. I am looking too much into this I think.

Leeeeeeee don't worry, you will be out of it soon, I was out of it in a matter of 6 days. Give it a week, since they were off for July 4th weekend, you will be out of it in no time. Before you know it, you will eventually get a response "the petition has been forwarded to _____ consulate on ____" ... don't be downn turn that frown upside down!

  9. yeah so it would be my fiance's name and the date submitted and the relationship..not any previous petitions submitted, the question is clearly in its present form as opposed to question 9 which states previously submitted. so wouldn't it be current... for example my dad is my co sponsor so he wouldn't have to fill that out so he would write none and when i'm filling the affidavit out i would have to fill q10 out because he is my fiance

  10. I totally agree Nana....r007219 ( or something close) his wife had her interview and she passed clear without AP

But 2kool4skool is male and their interview was 06/08 and visa printed 06/12. So what's up with that? Also, I am needing my husband here b4 I have my baby. We been living apart for two years and I only see him every so often-this is not fair!

the point of the matter is that it seems that AP timeframe is not as long as it used to be, but then again I don't want to speak too soon because Islamabad is unpredictable, life is unpredictable lol

  11. Derek, call the USCIS director because my petition was still at vermont for nearly a month and I called them to follow up. When I called the USCIS director about 3 weeks after the approval date notice, 5 days (including saturday and sunday) after that call, NVC received the case... I posted up the website with the list of numbers a couple of days ago. They were very nice about it

  12. I just asked USCIS for my NOA 2 monday. They told me i would get it in 5 days. Well today I received this email

The status of this service request is:

The Vermont Service Center is in the process of validating your expedite request on the grounds of United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) error. To do this the center has to review the petition/application that you submitted.

A review of our records indicates that your petition /application was forwarded to an offsite storage facility. Your file has been requested and USCIS will review your application/petition and respond back to you with our determination of your expedite request.

Please allow 30 days for receipt of this final decision.

We should make a movie out of this, first time you emailed you got a response regarding a I-130 petition that you have never filed, and now this... I'm sorry but I'm laughing out loud lol

I think you should do an info pass, which is making an appointment with one of the local offices of USCIS around your area to discuss this matter. Direct feedback is better than nothing
