If you go to their website, and in the search bar type in Holidays, it shows you a schedule of the days in which the embassy is closed

my fiance doesn't have an interview yet... we just submitted the packet a little less than a week ago

  5. Yes you are right. the more days go by, the faster i will be with my fiance. Same goes for everyone else in waiting. Also i heard that Visa's are being issued quickly in Islamabad. When i say quickly I mean left and right quickly. My mom just informed of that. Her two friend's son-in-law just got their visas issued last week. When i heard that my stomach knotted. I hope I am next. It has been 16 months since we have been apart.....INSHA'ALLAH he wil get his visa soon, along with everyone who is in AP......

Oh wowww that is great news! I really do hope that AP goes by fast for everyoneee.... insha'Alllah I hope they continue this quick issuance :) .. keeep us updated on this progress

  6. ACtually he lives in Afghanistan, but everything got sent to him in Pakistan since there is no mail service in Afghanistan. I just hope and pray the embassy will call soon and issue him the visa. We have been apart for so long now. :(

Insha'Allah this AP will be over and you will stay with your fiance... i read on someone's profile... look at the big picture.. and that big picture is that you will end up being with your fiance sooner or later right

  7. Well I hope it is a go!! He received the 3.5 packet through a mail courier in Quetta, Pakistan. Also the officer did give my fiance a blue letter stating he is under AP, but they said nothing about Kabul. Well I am sure he will travel three times the distance as Kabul to get his visa so he can finally come home, we just hope that the call or call letter is a good one and they issue him a visa. Inshallah they will, and to all the members who are waiting patiently like I am...

THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYONES HELP....GOOD LUCK TO ALL IN WAIT....

Then I guess that means that he will have to come to the embassy in ISL to pick up his passport... I'm guessing he lives in Pakistan, since he received the 3.5 packet in quetta, pakistan

  8. And for other people's negative comments... please let's not generalize and let's go by the embassy policy... EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT ...

this is why I hate watching documentaries... yes it is informative, but at the same time it is deceitfully opinionative, JUST LISTEN closely ... and read the credibility at the end and tell me how often do you see JOURNALISTS being credited

AND keep in mind there are different types of journalists

  9. please everyone stop all this talk about scam artist, my husband has just been denied, to be with me, i dont like to read about this, all nigerians are not scam artist, if you really want to get technical, there are scam artist all over the world, just so happens that the spotlight is on nigeria right now, but what about the scam artist in the us, and all over the world, please stop my heart is hurting right now and all you want to talk about is scam artist, im just trying to figure out what do me and my husband do next.

You know what I would think is a good idea, if he consults with a lawyer in Nigeria... I'm sure the lawyers there are familiar with these cases and i know how frustrating it can be... but with the right effort and source, everything will be fine. Don't panic, the more your emotions are in the way, the harder it is for you to think of an effective solution

While you are waiting for the USCIS to receive the case, in the meantime ask your husband to consult with a few lawyers... there are some lawyers in which the embassy lists for recommendation... maybe he can check those out.

  10. Everything is done through the embassies, even though he had his interview at Islamabad, he still picks up whatever that is sent for him from the embassy in Islamabad. How did he receive the 3.5 packet or the interview letter? The embassy in Islamabad sends it to the embassy in Kabul for your fiance to pick it up. Hence, the passport will probably be done through the same process; however, I'm not sure if he has to go back to Islamabad to pick it up since he submitted it at the day of the interview. I know that after the interview, usually they give you a letter stating your under AP and that the embassy of Kabul will notify you when to submit the passport for a visa issuance.

I'm sorry i meant embassy in Kabul

  11. My fiance has been in AP for 3 months and 2 weeks now. Why would he receive a call letter from kabul though? I thought the visa was issued in ISL since his passport is there??? Also please tell me what a call letter is?? And yes I hope and Pray that they will issue his visa soon, INSHALLAH.....OKay thank you so much for your help. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

  12. hi all!

Do you think it's a good idea to email Islamabad Embassy to conform an interview appointment few days before an interview date??? Has anyone done that??

Didnt you get ur interview appointment letter/email ?That is ur confirmation so y stress over confirming it ?

It is not my first time dealing with stupid Embassy in Islamabad. They are very unpredictable. There were some people in the past whose interview dates were changed and they find this out when they went to the embassy.

I think that was the time when there was a terror alert at the embassy in ISL (it's on the website under warden notices), and on the website they rescheduled all appointments on that day. I'm not sure if it's on a regular basis

  13. Well since your fiance left the passport with ISL at the time of the interview... then I'm presuming the call letter or the call would be from the U.S. embassy in Kabul asking him to pick up his passport with the visa stamped insha'Allah. As for when the call would be, I'm not sure and from the posts I have read, ISL can be unpredictable on the time frames they give lol

How long has your fiance been under AP?

  14. Wow, that whole sentence in their letter contradicts one another

Then we get a letter in the mail saying that our visa application is cancelled because we did not apply for an imigration visa

I hope you made a copy of the I-130 application that you had sent... maybe you should make a photocopy of your receipt letter, approval letter, and NVC letter or scan them and mail it to the embassy to show you did apply for an I-130 and it has successfully went through the USCIS and NVC... what makes you feel hopeless is the fact that the embassy is at such a distance to resolve this case, but there has to be a way somehow. Consult with a few lawyers here, and ask your husband to consult with a few lawyers in India to figure out how the resolve this issue.

  15. I must admit this forum has been a little quiet ever since Kris and Whaeed got their visa situation resolved. I hope everyone's visa process coming along well. My fiance' got her K1 interivew next Monday July 27th. I hope it goes all well.

someone on the boards said that ISL only conducts interviews the first 2 weeks of every month, I guess not... thanks for letting us know, helps a lot! and don't forget to share the interview experience :)

  16. It sucks you guys broke up :( did you at least get a refund from that crazy lawyer?

no... you know what the worst thing was? That lawyer left the attorney office and the head of that office appointed us to another lawyer! ... that made me think twice about the intention of this lawyer really..nut we shall see how it goes.. Thus far it is goin well, but I shall find out the ultimate answer in a few weeks .. I hope all goes well!
