  1. hi everyone...sorry if im back for this question---i just would like to ask the general public their thoughts or real experiences or facts about calling the USCIS to inquire or check the status of one's case, whether NOA2 is on its way or not...do u think that will be good? or advisable? or better not dare at all??

did anyone try to call USCIS and got NOA2 sooner than expected??

    OR

did anyone try to call USCIS and was scolded by the said office and had added more torturing months from normal NOA2 timeline( ouch! :bonk: )

i heard some people tellin me their hubbies/fiances called the office..i know this is a case to case basis..but i am only curious...i hope this wont kill me like how the cat was killed for bein curious...

god bless and thank u in advance for all the replies

there's nothing wrong to be curious for as long as you know what you are curious about :bonk: ....also there is nothing wrong to call USCIS and inquire your case status, hubby did that many times though and didn't change anything with our case but to our phone bills... :jest:

ahh..thanks madam/sir happyandinlove for ur funny reply...and also to Otto and Karin....thanks....i like that...i can imagine ur accordion-like fon bills after u made that call...kidding aside, i got curious coz one friend told me that the reason why they got a a sensitive  "touch" recently was bcoz the fiance called USCIS..at least thats something good and uplifting rather than not having any touches at all..i dont know if my fiance is contemplating on giving them (office)a call...i just wanna know if calling them will bring good news...so far , u and otto are tellin me the same thing--calling wont approve the petition..but at least its worth a try...thanks so much guys....and wish us luck for the noa2,,muchas gracias y vaya con Dios!

  3. hiya...i met my fiance in one of the famous chatrooms (not a dating site..hehehe)..his first time to chat online as he is indeed a bz man..it was like a friendly chat that led to a romantic scenario...we had undergone the different stages before reaching where we are now that is from acquaintance, to friendship, to courtship to love..and we both know its true love ( u can feel that tingling sensation from within... :P lol.)...we were both skeptical at first <_< with regards to building a relationship from online chat..but look at us now..we are growing more and more in love each day and we never get tired of saying how much we love and care for each other and how much we want to be together..sounds mushy for others but this is who we are..it so happened my Romeo is also expressive and sweet like his Juliet...its all because right from the very start we didnt just say hi and bid bye that fast..we gave each other the chance to talk and express ourselves and intentions online...besides if u smell something fishy, the "ignored" button is just a click away if u sense one is a pervert or a scammer...BTW, its not the color of his skin or his cute and charming face that made me fall for him, its how he made me feel special as a person...

regarding trust, it was hard to develop trust after first few chats..coz trust is gained not said..and after experiencing few scammers online, its really that tough to decipher whether ur chatmate is a hoax or genuine...it took time before we actually trusted each other to the fullest...but his first proof of being trustworthy is the fact he told me that he will help me find a teaching job in the states and there you go, the next day, he was diligently searching online for schools in his place where teachers are needed...i couldnt think of any men can do that for me after few hours of chatting..he proved his worth as i have proven mine...and that instance was just one of the tests and up to this very moment, we are good as new and believing in each other's word...for now, since we are world's apart, our true word is the only guarantee until the day we will be together in flesh and spirit ...we learned so much from each other's incompatible ways and treated them as means to understand and improve our ways even if it means making compromises.....on the best side too, we maximize every liking traits we have to prolong the relationship's life and interest span... ..love ends where interest fades which i hope wont happen.. :crying:

gosh i surely love my fiance as much as he loves me...if not because of the existence of the new technology, we could still be like wandering souls searching for the missing piece in us...whether online meeting or in person, it doesnt matter, only one best and prevailing generalization about love---IF ITS TRUE LOVE, GO FOR IT AND NORTURE THE RELATIONSHIP & UR PARTNER LIKE UR VERY OWN SKIN...

i salute all those who are in love !~kudos!!!!

  4. Thoughts and prayers to my fiance and I please!

She goes to the Interview on the 9th (my bday)!

She's worried of course, but we got all of the papers done and organized with everything that is needed. :)

So it should be smooth sailing and hopefully a pink slip for us, but the prayers are always welcome!

hiya mikemc..good luck to ur fiancee on her interview today..im sure she can bring home the famous pink slip today...

id like to ask though why she has not undergone medical exams? it doesnt state in ur profile nor in VJ timeline...was she exempted from taking one???just curious..thanks and hope everything goes well from interview onwards...

    god bless

  5. thanks a lot for sharing with us ur experience/thoughts about the post...i agree totally with u kurt and dora....i believe everybody here wants to be morally supported esp. during the interview...

and to all those who shared their thoughts and experiences here...MUCHAS GRACIAS!

u guys are one sweet couple....kudos! and god bless

  6. I can't imagine not being there - 1) after such a long wait, you want to give yourself every chance at success, and the extra expense has to be worth it. I doubt that anyone was denied because the petitioner was there but there are surely cases when the visa would have been granted if he/she had been there. 2) It will be a nerve wracking time for the beneficiary and I think you owe them every bit of support possible. Sort of like the father being there for your child's birth - is it necessary for the final outcome? NO, but it sure is evidence of support to your spouse and the doctors. And I believe the interview is about on par in terms of a life milestone as having a child. That "pink slip" (which is better than the one when you lose your job) is the gateway to major changes in your lives.

thanks kurt and dora for sharing with us ur experience and thoughts about the post..yes, i too greatly believe, that if petitioner is present during beneficiary's interview, she will feel supported and less burdened...u can feel the the difference of having him around and not having him there..even if we say the CO wont ask the petitioner anything for as long as he holds ur hand and being there physically while beneficiary is being interviewed..thats a big WOWWWWWWWWW  thats really something...man, it myt sound mushy but the power of touch is powerful...it lessens the tension in and out of ur body, thus makin u feel confident that u will bring home the pink slip ...but in my practical sense of reasoning, i wont allow my fiance to come back here again after a month's visit if i know the financial status will affect our relationship or our future fiances.....i was told that the plane ticket costs like $1800 ..thats really jaw dropping amount...i am honestly, somewhere in the middle about this issue...half of me saying he must show support by comin here, and half of my sane mind also says daisy be practical...wish i knew whats better ....

  7. hiya guys....anymore here june 2009 filers and been given NOA2 email???pls. update ...esp. june 1-30 applicants..coz i heard some end of May applicants where already given the NOA2 notice..congrats guys ...

anyone from the PI forum with NOA2 notification / approval ahead or sooner than what VJ timeline projected..???pls. share a post here...so we can keep tract ours too...

    thanks guys

god bless and good luck to those who didnt get it yet ( count me in) and congrats to those who have been approved!~~~~~

  8. guys im soooooooooooooooo grateful for having u around... ur responses to this post make us(fiance and I ) think the possibility of being there for each other during the interview..above other underlying reasons why he should be there is the fact that CO can see how much the petitioner supports and love the beneficiary/fiancee...this will trigger CO's attention to sign and approve, unless couple doesnt know how to answer the questions being asked or cant prove to veracity of the info stated in the form we submitted..its the least to worry because we know what we wrote there anyway and truthful answers will save the day ...now we will see how things progress from NOA2 onwards and of course availability of resources...but guys thanks so much for the posts...its a great great help to our inquisitive minds...

btw, so far- the prevailing polls show that FIANCE/PETITIONER SHOULD ATTEND

    god bless.....

  9. thanks matt and bing..very nice experience there..u know my fiance and I are having confusing thoughts about this if this will help us get the approval after long torment months just to get the approval of the embassy...if this will help us get the famous pink slip, why slip the chance??

i hope there will be more posts as im weighing things really...glad u replied and thanks so much for ur time and effort to write ur experiences...

    god bless

Having the USC at the interview is good evidence of ongoing relationship, whether or not he will be able to sit in at the interview is up to the CO. In any case, USC's presence will be noted and they will know he's waiting.

One case where the USC was allowed in the interview, the CO told the USC, "I will ask your fiancee questions and she will respond. Then I will ask you questions and you will respond. Do you both understand?"

Be aware of possible delays in processing and delivery of your visa. Buying an advance one-way air ticket back to the States so that you can both fly back together is a nerve-racking risk and not recommended as per the documents in your forthcoming embassy "packets" and the personal experiences of many here.

One good thing if your USC fiancee can make the trip is that he use his airline luggage allowance (typ. 2 X 35kg) to help bring the bulk of your belongings back to the States with him, or in the best of situations, fly back together so he can help you with your bags/boxes and navigation through airports and the longest airplane ride of your life.

    Good luck!

  11. hi...a follow-up..i got this link from Sheriff Uling's post stating:

Petitioners Attendance at the Visa Interview: The petitioner is NOT required to attend the visa interview with the beneficiary, and will NOT be asked any questions during the visa interview. In fact, some COs request for the petitioner to continue waiting in the lobby. Approximated 90% of the visa interviews are held WITHOUT the attendance of the petitioner, according to VJ member(s).

On the contrary, i found this http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Philippines&cty=Manila stating

Can fiance(e)/spouse attend the interview? Yes

Visa fee payment "same day" or "in advance"? Advance

Did the embassy schedule your interview or could you walk-in? Walk-in or Schedule

    Visa issued same day? No

    im confuse now..who's right then???

  12. hi there everyone! im not even halfway done with the visa journey...still waiting for NOA2 but ive an advance question for u..im sure other fiancees who are waiting for their NOA2 would also like to read ur suggestions ....

    questions

1.) is our fiance/petitioner NOW allowed to be with the fiancee during the interview?

2.) whats ur suggestion, have them attend??or not?? and why?

3.) was there an instance wherein the petitioner attended the interview with the fiancee and still was denied ?

i just would like to get ur consent/advise/suggestion and weigh it accordingly .. :star:

    thanks so much...

    god bless

  13. guys...congrats and hope u have a safe and happy trip to ur new country...

id like to ask ur opinion...would u suggest the fiance to come over for the interview???is that really allowed now ??m having 2nd thought about it??some say its good if fiance is there..some say, not really necessary..

    i appreciate ur suggestion..and sorry if i post it here..i know u can help///

    thanks and once again--congrats

  14. hi there mari...first and foremost, i am saddened by that news on RFE...ive been checking on some timelines since the day we joined VJ and MOSt couples with rfe's get the approval after a week or two depending too on how fast u reply or send the papers they need...pls. dont lose hope,,the only consolation there is ur application was "touched", meaning it was seen and read and inspected by the USCIS ...consider that a blessing (((except they arent satisfied with that blurry copy of ur MC)).... RFE signals that ur next to be approved after complying with it...ur almost there..go to NSO and LCR for a clear copy or a certification...

    good luck mari and tim...

  15. For those of you with June NOA1 and no touches, don't get discouraged. We also had a June 1 NOA1 with no touches and we just received an email today saying our NOA2 was APPROVED and mailed today, August 26! Our estimated date on Igor's list was Sept 2 - Sept 6. Get ready June filers, it's our turn! :dancing::dance:

wow...this post is very enlightening..after June 28, i received no "touches" from our NOA1 and i became worried since then...but after reading this post about the "touches" stuff and noticed that it was earlier approved than what VJ timeline projects..it seems i need not to be a worry wart anymore...soon somewhere in the mid of sept. we will have our NOA2 approved too,,hopefully no RFE...thanks guys..glad we had this thread..u surely lifted my spirit again..

good luck and congrats to all june 2009 CSC filers!~ :innocent:

  16. So which papers should i file with the K1 visa papers and should will need a copy for her interview when that day come? just would like to know as our annulment is almost done and will like to know so she can mail me the right papers to sent with the I 129F thanks Nate

once annulled, she may ask from the court where she filed her ANNULMENT DECISION and COURT FINALITY/DECREE, ..(some call it Decree, others Finality) ...on the other hand, the ANNOTATED MARRIAGE CONTRACT takes time to be released. Now, to get the Annotated MC, first she has to present a certified true copy of her Court Annulment Decision and Court Finality at the Local Civil Registrar in her place and they will endorse this to NSO in Manila (QC). This might take either 2 or 3 weeks. But while waiting for it, u may submit ur K-1 without the annotated MC yet provided during the interview u have it already...

Hope this helps..because most of my annulled filipina friends here advised me to submit the K-1 application even without the annotated MC yet since it takes time to get it. And so we did..We are waiting for NOA2 now...and so far, so good...I checked with NSO here if they already entered in their system the annotations in my marriage contract and fortunately, its there...Thank God....Good job NSO!

here is an email addy of NSO in QC.. its very useful for queries u got..

    <e-census@census.gov.ph

    hope this post helps

  17. hello guys----wish this can help with regards to CENOMAR AND CEMAR and its distinction...

I got this reply directly from NSo online assistance and this is their email..they simply reply u back a day after...

    "e-census@census.gov.ph" <e-census@census.gov.ph>

    Dear Ms. Daisy

    Thank you for your e-mail.

The request for the issuance of the Certificate of No Marriage Record

(CENOMAR) will result to an Advisory on Marriage (AOM), or what is more

commonly known as the Certificate of Marriage (CEMAR). This is because even if

a certain marriage has been annulled, it is still included in the National

Indices of Marriage of the National Statistics Office (NSO). The annotated

marriage record, where the statement regarding the court decree of annulment

is indicated, should accompany the said document result. The NSO does not make

    annotations on the AOM/CEMAR.

We hope the above would be of help in addressing your concerns.

    Thank you.

    Yours truly,

    e-Census Operations

  18. hi there....id like to add on:

what m about to write here is the same thing i replied to her post regarding Cenomar..as per my own understanding, Cenomar is only given to those ladies who were never married..before or during the application of K-1..its not true that K-1 applicants are all single and were required to present Cenomar..like in the case of already annulled women before filing of K-1, may not be presenting their Cenomar because they were married before in the eyes of the Phil. law..in other words, she can put in her I-129 form "single" but with alias (her married name used) and the name of previous spouse and of course with strong evidence of her annulment such as the Court Decision and Finality and the most important proof--ANNOTATED Marriage Contract from NSO,,this are the exact requirements for the "formerly" married women...i think why she was asked for a cenomar was that maybe she put in her K-1 application as single and never married in the PI...if her marriage in the Phils was legal and registered at NSO, definitely, she cant deny that...moreover, there is no divorce in the PI..legally, after the annulment, she needs to endorse her court decision and finality to the local civil registrar so they in turn can endorse that to NSO so the latter can put remarks in her marriage contract that her previous marriage was already dissolved, thus she is free to remarry...

a Cenomar (certificate of No marriage) is for single ladies..never married before and during application of K-1..

a Cemar(certificate of marriage) however is for those K-3 applicants..

i hope m correct on this matter...this reply is still open for additional info i missed.

    thanks and god bless

    Hi Lane and daisy,

I am very confused now regarding CENOMAR, my lawyer told me to prepare Birth cert, NBI and Cenomar for my interview..I dont know if i can get CENOMAR since i am annulled.I have here my annotated marriage contract already. I will go to NSO office on monday ...

    lyn

sis daisy pede ata un kc magiging record don eh annuled na ung marriage....

tin dear...di un cenomar kasi it is strictly for single ladies lang who were never married before or during the K-1 application..maybe its cemar ur referring to...

  19. for lyn and jeff's post::::

as quoted by Jom...since we have same understanding of CENOMAR:

"""CENOMAR ( Certificate of No Marriage ) is only required by K1 beneficiaries who have never been married in their lifetime.

For K1 beneficiaries who have been married and the same already annuled, what is required is the CERMAR ( Certificate of Marriage) with the Annulment annotated on it."""

  20. thats what i told her but she insisted that my case and hers was different ms. sasha..

annulled or divorced, she and I were married before and no cenomar for that anymore..only marriage contract both annotated and unannotated ...

i wish her good luck and would still encourage her try callin NSO..they are the legal office to answer her concern

  21. madam yolly, question here----what did u write in ur I129 form under current name used and previous names used??and ur marital status???

kasi po m thinking the reason why u were told to produce cenomar instead of annotated marriage contract is u put "single" and u didnt indicate ur previous / married name sa form???

m i correct po??kasi why on earth naman po the embassy will ask for ur cenomar ???di ko talaga gets as to why they need that from u??????

    salamat
