  1. Well today is actually day 36 , not day 42 as I thought. When I called NVC Friday night I confirmed the receive date and it is August 24th. I am trying to be positive and believe that THIS WEEK IS THE WEEK I COME OUT OF AP. I am going to try and test my patience and not call till Wednesday...maybe. I just get so angry now when I call just to hear the same thing. I think if Wednesday there is no change then I will call my Congresswomans office again. Good luck to everyoine this week. Maybe being end of the month they have to get a certain number finished...just hoping.

I just called still in AP, 20th day...I'm so tired..I don't even feel like calling NVC anymore.

Why do these things happen to people that follow rules and the law? When I hear "unfortunately there's no timeframe for AP" it just takes the energy out of me and I feel like going home...

Good luck to us this week. :clock:

  2. LUvtechwifey...

You need to shut the hell up!!! Ever post you make and every word out of your mouth is embarrassing.

    Good god.

See how much we have been abusing God's gifs to us? The flood that struck Metro Manila and other parts of the National Capital Region was indeed a result of how much we have been unmindful for the effects of us-- not caring for the proper disposal of garbage, rich people converting every available spaces to subdivisions, and the list goes on and on... We don't have proper drainage anymore. Bodies of water around the metro are now Malls. So where else the water will go? Moreover, because of the global warming, Philippine's sea level is really plunging rapidly as the years passes by.

What will the Filipinos should do if a much stronger typhoon comes a long the way? This really calls for voting wisely this coming Presidential election and hopefully the next president would actually care to do something in terms of defense for natural calamity.

QUIRKY ####### are you even doing in the Philippines Thread? Angola has almost 50 percent of the population below poverty level.

  3. My Lady has Interview tomorrow at USE. She will travel from Commonwealth By taxi . Just talked to her she say it will be ok cuz sunny now . Big day i sure Hope and pray she can get there on time . I know she will do great once at USE...

Good luck! Let us know the results and hopefully things are running smoothly at the Embassy, I read a CNN quote from Ambassador Lenney mentioned the embassy was flooded. Hope it's just a couple of inches of water.

I'm also hoping that the FILIPINO people wake up from this mess and realize they MUST discipline themselves to try and avoid this kind of mess in the future.

  4. First of all, hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum, but i did a lot of readings before i post here.

I meant to call back last night but after mexican food and pina cola sort of fell asleep on couch when got in ...lol So will have to wait till monday. I check the DHL tracking and looks slim for friday and was nothing to romanian - so maybe will be more later as dhl is updated ? Even if there is I would not know if was or was not mine.

I don't know if i got this right but, is there a way to see when NVC sends out packages through DHL to an embassy? I may be wrong, but from what i was reading here people seams to have the way of seeing this somehow.

If there is a way, can someone give me the info on how to see it?

hi ! Hey :time: ( I have always wanted to use this emote ..lol ) we have similar timelines :)

They finally told me ( and Paris Heart is saying this means we are finally out of AP ) that our application will be sent to the US Embassy within the next 5 days - maybe your will also !

Good luck and welcome to the thread !

Congrats! They told you today?? Can we call on Saturday's too?

  5. Are all types of Visa's qualified to go for Advanced medical? or only CR1's?

Were on K1 and stuck in AP at NVC.

Someone also posted they will take away her passport at the medical examination appointment?

Doesn't she need the passport for the interview?

    Thanks all in advance.

She needs the NOA2 approval notice and the MNL number to take a early medical at St. Lukes. K1s can do so also. Have her make a copy of her passort. She may need it doing CFO. She will need the PP number to fill out the DS 156.

Thanks! Will let her know :) I thought the CFO needs an approved Visa first, so at that time she will have her passport back already right?

  6. After you passed from your medical appointment in SLMEC they will get your passport and just give you a copy of your vaccination record because they will send your medical result along with your passport to the US Embassy in Manila and once you have passed the interview the Embassy will stamped and put a sticker of your visa in your passport :P so you don't have to worry about your passport  and they will send you your Visa together with your passport.About your first question Yes  you can go advance to have your medical as long as you already have your case number and NOA2 and your appointment sched for your interview.

   how can she have the advance med. in st. luke's if they are stuck in nvc?, how about the nvc letter copy? and how can they have the appointment letter from us embassy if the nvc is not forwarding it here in manila?... think u guys need it before u ahve the advance med..? pls. correct me if i am wrong here.. just confused bcoz the op is asking if they can get the advance med. though they are stuck in nvc...

    Hi happyme :)

NVC sent us the letter copy Sept 8th so I have that, with the MNL case #. But no appointment letter, I think they are saying we can go ahead with the medical even if we do not have an appointment for interview, as long as we have the NVC case number.

My fiancee called SLMEC yesterday and was told the NVC letter and case # will be OK for a walk-in visit. So she will try this coming Tuesday.

    Good Luck to everyone!

Thanks!! I will forward this to my fiancee.

  8. New day, same result...still in AP. I shouldn't have even called.

I feel exactly the same way..day is almost over at NVC, I want to call again but i'll probably just get pissed off.

NVC actually works two shifts, and they take calls 'til midnight Eastern time.

I called 2-3 times a day until we got out of AP... usually once after lunch, again just before going home from work, and one more time around 11:30 or so.

I'm going to try this next week, I have nothing to lose.

Maybe they'll get tired of me calling, and just forward the case to USEM.

The supervisor I spoke to this week was nice and calm, she did say they keep logs of the calls because she noticed I've been calling almost 2x a day 5 days a week.

This is consulate-specific. In our case (consulate: Seoul, South Korea) Elisha was able to go for her medical based on having the NVC case number even though we were still stuck in AP. She had to take her passport with her, but they didn't keep it.

    Thanks all!

K1 can take also advance medical.. but I am not sure in ur case.. sorry maybe somebody here can give u more advice

    god bless :-)

    OK thanks :)

I don't think theres anything special about my case, there's a bunch of people stuck at the NVC for additional processing.

  11. I guess I'll never know for sure whether it made a difference, but...

    • I faxed my letter to the Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs on Friday afternoon;
    • Was told Monday afternoon that the AP reviews of our case were complete; and
    • Was told today that NVC had sent out the file to Seoul.
Things that make you go hmm....

BTW - Did you get any notification at all email or phone call? I know you checked by calling but I'm wondering if they also call or e-mail if they have the information on file.

    No, they didn't contact me.

I'm out too. :wow: Called today at noon while on my lunch break, I could barely swallow when she told me, "The petition has been sent today to Manila." I asked her if it gone from NVC or is it still there? She just repeats in a gruff voice the same thing. I thanked her and hung up. I haven't changed my time line because Martina reads our VJ homepage and I want to break the good news to her.

I work in an Ombudsmans office for the State Department in Health Services. I can truthfullly say that when we get a congressional inquiry (State Reps) we move it. I did fax my Washington Representative and called his office, two days later I'm out of NVC. Can't say if that was the cause for sure. Come to think of it at my office constituents don't know if the congressman was helpful or not.

I checked my email and still NVC has not emailed me. I would recommend to keep calling NVC since the email notification lagged (at least for me)

Crazyman,mavrick64,dhc,chrismel, and sweetgurl you are all in my prayers. I want you all to feel the joy i felt when i heard the news that Martina and myself closed the book on NVC. Thanks Allie for your encouragement for me to be patient. :bonk:

    Thanks Oscar and Martina.

Day 15 in NVC jail :crying: :crying:

  12. I just got off the phone with the supervisor at NVC (Leila) with whom I spoke last Thursday. She told me at that time that she would put in a request to find out the status of our case. She said today that they had responded to her request: they have completed their reviews and are preparing to send it out to Seoul, and that it'll definitely be leaving NVC this week.

Mind you, I'm not getting excited yet... when I find out for sure that it's been shipped, I'll breathe a little easier... and I'll wait 'til we hear from the consulate to start dancing... but I'm cautiously optimistic. This may, finally, be progress.

The operator at NVC just said our file was sent to Seoul today! I can't see the DHL tracking info yet, but I'll keep checking.

Congrats! Just watch the DHL tracking, Im doing the same thing waiting to see packet to Paris.

You can also call the State Department (202-663-1225) to see whether the file's been received and logged into the system at the embassy yet.

    Congratulations!

I just called still in AP. OMG We pay and get tortured in return.

  13. well that is awesome news - I will ask tomorrow for supervisor - and see what I get. I am thinking w new month around the corner - maybe those countries who they are trying to keep down quotas for the visa waiver program resets and we may all see our cases leaving nvc ( i am hoping anyway )

Good luck on that crazymazy, I sure hope you get good news soon!!!!

Question: How soon after AP does a K1 or a K3 petition gets sent to the embassy?????

Well you guys are having more luck..I tried asking for a supervisor and was told no one was available and I should just wait. If I could reach in and grab the agents neck over the phone...LOL.

Same thing with my congressman's office...no replies. he doesn't get my vote next election.

  14. I managed to get the fax number for the Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs (one step below Hillary, in charge of all visa issues and NVC) and faxed her a letter begging her to help get us out of NVC and on to Seoul. We'll see if that goes anywhere.

I just wrote a letter to my congressman, let's see what happens. I just hate to think the applications are sitting there for no good reason whatsoever. When I see applications fly out of there in 2-4 days from other people's timeline it bothers me that we have to go through another long wait.

  15. Well.....my girl is doing her medical right now even though we are still at the NVC. Best to get something else out of the way with the luck we've had so far. Most of her friends have already scheduled their interviews and some even already passed them while we still wait.

Wait..you can do medical ahead of time? I thought you have to have the USEM approve you for that?

  16. Hello All,

Is this something I should worry about? I thought the NVC just preps the package for the embassy? They did just get it yesterday.

I just didn't like the way the agent said it's under further review..and said give it a couple more days.

    Thanks :)

No NVC does it's own set of background checks, just as USCIS did and as will the Embassy will do. We were on AP for three weeks then all went fine. I wouldn't worry, hang in there. Have you sent your documents for the interview?

Thanks :) Just worries me because some of the other K1 timelines I've seen almost seems like the NVC just held it for 1 day and they mailed it to USEM the next day...one can only hope :)

I've sent my fiance a complete duplicate of the I-129 package I sent to USCIS.

I'm waiting for the case to leave NVC then I'll send the I-134 and supporting docs, I kinda want to get the pay stubs as close to interview date as possible, to avoid any issues. Am I forgetting something :) I probably am. :)

  17. Sara you have got to Be kidding........... Incredible honey, hopefully it will be over quick.

Is AP the same as "further review"? The case is at NVC but the agent said it's still under review? He did say give it a couple of days. Arghhh I hate worrying about this stuff

i dont know for me they said they had no time limit on it at least they told u give it a couple of days......

i dont mean to be all drama but i think i finally reached the end of my patience......but i can figure is because it so so close to being over and then this kind of a mmmmm i dont even have a word for it.

    sara

Sara..I hope your file gets out of there soon :) Good Luck. :star:
