......36 days.....
you know... there are lucky people that are interviewing at the embassy that got NOA1 within 15 days of our noa2.....
ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I looked at other timelines here on VJ and some make it out of NVC in less than 5 days..5 Days!! 30+ days stuck at NVC just does not make any sense.
What's funny is the K1 flowchart..it says welcome to the state department things move faster here. LOLOLOL..pure BS at this point.
Rant over..

This probably will be one of my ending posts here on this topic regarding the subject of being in AP. I say this because , as i knew it from last week, I'm officially out from AP.
Based on my experience with this unpleasant waiting period, i would like to make known for all those that are still in AP, that this topic is GREAT and my suggestion is "READ everything here".
Many posts that I've posted had a high accuracy, and i would recommend to learn from them. I put time and effort to make them easy to be understood, but also to benefit people that are still in AP by not wasting they time finding an answer.
With one thing i was wrong, I predicted that i will be out from AP tomorrow (Tuesday) but it happened today.
I would like also to thank you for all the people that give me they support, as i would not be able to get my self mentally prepared without them. I love them for they great mind and i wish them all the best!
P.S. I'm tracking my package from minute 1 of being out from AP!
CONGRATULATIONS!!

Out of AP, Thank you Congressman Chris Murphy. I called NVC at 8:00AM this morning, still in AP. Sarah from Congressmens office calls me at 11:00AM (I faxed them last Wednesday) and says we are on way to Consulate.
20 Days at NVC
When I faxed Congressman Murphy's office I really didnt expect anything, but Sarah from that office was all over it apparently and kick started NVC.
Here we come Guangzhou
Wow, congratulations. One more out of AP hole.
Hopefully, my congressman request will pull some chin over there, too.
Congrats! Glad you made it out in 20 days
My congressman called last week but that seemed not to have the desired effect I imagined a congressman would have LOL.
Dont be so sure, my Congresswomans office said to give it a week to work. You should call the State Dept...they can look at your file and see if the Congressional inquiry is there. Hang in there...it's coming!
Stupid question here..I thought NVC was part of the State Dept? Is there a number posted in this thread I definitely want to call.. although the supervisor last week said they did log a call from the congressman .
Thanks!
Yes there is a number you can call...I think Crazymazy listed it here. I believe it is this 1-202-663-1225 press 1 then 0
day 36 sigh..............................
Have you called NVC and talk to the sups?
yup.. have asked 4 times so far... only once did they finaly get a supervisor.. he answered..."may i help you" then the line went dead... the other 3 times there was none available... but the operator was kind enought to tell me each time that the sup. couldnt tell me any more that they could...
so i went to see my congressman thursday... wrote a nice letter before going.. the congressmans aid called mr back on friday...
so still waiting
Have faith , you should be very close...I bet by the end of this week.
Thanks I'll try that number soon.

If they are actually doing something, checking names, etc. (which I thought was what was supposed to have taken place during the almost six months we were at VSC) then great, but they should communicate this and provide a time frame and then the whole process wouldn't be neary as frustrating. But I highly doubt there is anything organized taking place. As someone said on here--just imagine if we let the government get control of the health-care industry!!!
Lost at Bureaucra-Sea.
EXACTLY!
I personally don't buy into the whole "AP at NVC is additional background checks" theory. First because why would it only be on K visas? And then why random? If it is so important that you have to do ADDITIONAL checks at NVC, then shouldnt it be all of the K visas? And why would issues not be caught at USCIS..after all THEY are a part of Homelanf Security. Sure would look bad for NVC to find something that USCIS couldn't. i dunno...and I guess noone will ever know the truth about AP. But we do know one thing....IT BLOWS
I just called still in AP but I got a different answer from the operator, I wanted to speak with the supervisor but will hold off until this afternoon.
She said, I know this is frustrating but I don't see this staying here more that 30 days, and told me to call back on Friday.
So I asked if she saw something on the screen to indicate that it was this Friday, but she said no...I may be reading into this too much but am hoping she's right.

I loved weekend before, and I hated it now. Still depressed. Just praying we all gonna be out of AP soon. dhc, you are the one I'm look up on now, lol, cuz I'm three days behind yours. When yours get out of AP, there at least I can have a hope toward mine.
Same here it sucks to wish that the weekend would be over so that the NVC would open and they can work on our case but I will wish for it until this is done.
Well hopefully this week is our lucky week and next weekend doesn't feel like forever, heck you may get out of AP before I do...although I hope we both and everyone in here get out soon.

Hi Maverick, Hi dhc ... I see you are here too. I just stopped in to see what the latest buzz is. I'm still not convinced my case has been shipped to my embassy, even thouh I saw one package on the DHL website going to Italy. It weighed 5.5 lb.s ... mine was only about 1 lb.
Hi Ladonna yep it seems I'm always here coz it's home for now
I'm hoping your case was send and we both or maybe a lot of us will get some good news next week.
-
LOL I just called right now thinking I'll get an automated answer and someone actually picked UP. Unfortunately they said call back next week.
Definitely will do that

OMG, I saw one to Panama City, but didn't want to get excited..but I called ..AND IT"S MINE! I AM FREE!!!!!!!! Really, I am a man, but I have tears in my eyes right now!
CONGRATS MAVERICK. I'm glad your out of this mess.
Good luck to the rest of your journey, and to all that's still calling NVC every day. including myself.
-
CONGRATS!!!!!! HOPING FRIDAY will be a good day. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.
-
Into the 4th week of this #######.
Although I see DHL shipments everyday to Manila..arrrhgggggg....this is nutz.
-
There's some packages to the Philippines. Just called still in AP.
Will call again before EOB and try speaking with a supervisor again.
Maverick - I do agree this feels worst than the USCIS wait..we were fortunate to have gone out of USCIS in 90 days but this feels worst because it feels like it's soooo unnecessary. And to think we still have to wait for an interview date.
-
hmmmmmm I just checked the DHL shipments and see one that was picked up yesterday at 4PM heading for Panama City , Panama. I have heard that they often don't update their database until the file is already on it's way. I have been checking the DHL shipments out of NVC for two weeks now and this is the first I have seen to Panama. Not getting my hopes up too much, but I will call later this morning and see.
How do you guys check these shipments? Is there a link to find out?
-
ty both very much
i think I will still hang out in here ...lol
Is like home
lol
Congrats!!! Your file was slightly received ahead of ours...I hope a bunch of us are next.
I wonder if the faxes worked hahaha.
-
I sent a fax also...today is freakin' day 38! I am so depressed.
Another day wasted...
I finally got a hold of someone at the Congressman's office, they had me fill out a privacy and case work authorization form to allow them to assist, I will follow up tomorrow and pray they can push this through.

here is the url for the U.S. Department of State personnel directory with phone numbers. Scroll to pages 12-13 and there is the consular affairs section. I' haven't had time to call any of the numbers yet to ask specifically which is the best person to contact, but I'll probably start with David Donahue,Deputy Assistant Secretary for Visa Services http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/112065.pdf. Good luck!
Good work. You probably could have found that hours ago if you hadn't wasted your time and effort sending me rude and insulting private messages.
Hint: the "Unclassified Fax" number doesn't work. You have to call someone and charm a fax number out of them. Good luck to all.
Really, it took about 5 minutes to find that directory, it wasn't hard at all, which really makes me even more amazed you were unwilling to share it with the rest of us. Didn't you say it took you hours of research? Now you should let this subject die. You erred and you should just be a man and admit your mistake. Ciao.
You don't have a working fax number yet, do you? You have to call and hope that someone will divulge one. That's what I did, and had I turned around and posted the number here, it would have been child's play to connect the dots. Sorry, but like I said before, I've been burned too many times in this process to take ANY chances.
It took you all of five minutes to find the directory, eh? Yet you spent the better part of an hour sending private messages calling me selfish and perverse, accusing me of gloating, etc. All because I considered it too risky to divulge information that I had to obtain through personal contact. See how much time you wasted on spite and anger!
Anyway, I did err—I responded to your first rude, spiteful message. That opened the floodgates. That was a mistake which I definitely regret.
Let's all get through this guys..we are all frustrated, this forum has been a great help and very supportive. Good luck to all to the rest of their journey and maybe since we are nearing the 2-4 week mark that we all get some well deserved news before this week ends.
-
I "charmed" a fax number out of them simply by asking ... 202 647-9622 ... but I haven't had time to verify that fax number yet, so I don't guarantee it.
I called the office of Janice Lee Jacobs, and got that fax number as well, I faxed my letter but she maybe too high up in the food chain. Let us know if you get anywhere with the Deputy.

Yes good luck to us all, and I hope they don't just discard these faxes, and someone actually does something about them.

Responding to the person who said they found a fax number for the Department of State after great effort, but they were unwilling to share that fax number here in the forum for fear the number would become "flooded" ... I wonder why you mentioned it at all then? The spirit of this forum is to share information, help each other, and commiserate. Please don't tell us you are privvy to some special information you are not willing to share with the rest of us. What was your purpose in doing it? To gloat? To tease the rest of us? To be admired? Please, just keep such things off the forum if you are not willing to share. You just make a bad situation worse.
Hi ladonna,
Haven't found the fax number but did find the phone number to the offices. I'm hoping to get the fax number if I'm able to get through.
I understand the members concern regarding flooding the numbers but at the same time maybe it will draw attention to our concerns. The way I see it these people work for the taxpayers and more importantly for their fellow US Citizens, an overloaded fax machine is hardly a burden.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. We do all seem to be from the same time frame. My NOA2 was on Aug. 26 and NVC receive date was Sept. 3 . It's the not knowing anything thats the hard part. We expect a certain amount of time to go from 1 to 2 but this wait comes out of nowhere and surprises you. I'll be checking 4-5 times a week like I'm sure you all do. I have sent 1 e-mail too with no response yet but didn't really think they would till they are done. Hope we all can get out of AP soon.
I do not know if its a time frame issue, I have a chat friend who has also filed a week earlier than I did. They already got the letter from the Embassy today, which means it passed through NVC very quickly. However my case seems different.
I received my NOA2 on Sept 11th, called NVC on sept 20 and got the case no. they assigned it and found out it is in AP. Called sept 21 to find out when they actually received my petition because I forgot the first time I called to ask. The lady would not give me any information, she said my name as the petitioner did not match the name of the petitioner that they had. My case was flagged for review by a supervisor and I was told to call back in 15 business days.
I'm going to try and Fax a letter to the Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs and see if I get a response, a long shot but a least I'll feel like I'm doing something.

The fact is, we've been lied to, in writing even. I called them this morning and insisted on talking to a supervisor. I asked her politely, but firmly and repeatedly, "Why do you put something in writing that is not true? Why don't you change that letter if indeed it's a form letter?" Who else in this country can get away with putting false information in writing? They would be held accountable in a court of law. It's the basic premise of our legal system. Why put that in writing if it's not true? and not only to do it once, but to repeat the same indiscretion over and over and over? It makes no sense. The supervisor told me to put my complaint in a written letter. I said I would, but she shouldn't think doing so would be an exercise in letting off steam, because I was not just angry but incensed by the incompetence and insensitivity of this practice. They told me to call back in 15 business days. I replied I would write a letter and send it by registered mail, and call back in 2 days, and I would continue calling back every day until I got an acceptable answer. They should not be allowed to perpetuate such behavior with impunity. If I don't have some resolution to this matter, I'll contact my congressional representatives. None of you should accept this situation. They should stop sending us misleading and blatantly false letters, and they should either process our petitions efficiently or give us a reasonable explanation as to why they are being held.
Totally agree. I've sent an e-mail 4x now and have yet to get a reply. On one of the e-mails I expressed my concern regarding the misleading notification letter. Which is an outright lie for those of us in AP.

Anybody tried to call NVC lately? Their phone no. 603 - 334 0700 is not working from last Friday.
Any other no to call?
Yep I called that exact # today as well. You just have to redial every time you get the busy signal, and they are on Eastern time zone.
-
Well today is actually day 36 , not day 42 as I thought. When I called NVC Friday night I confirmed the receive date and it is August 24th. I am trying to be positive and believe that THIS WEEK IS THE WEEK I COME OUT OF AP. I am going to try and test my patience and not call till Wednesday...maybe. I just get so angry now when I call just to hear the same thing. I think if Wednesday there is no change then I will call my Congresswomans office again. Good luck to everyoine this week. Maybe being end of the month they have to get a certain number finished...just hoping.
I just called still in AP, 20th day...I'm so tired..I don't even feel like calling NVC anymore.
Why do these things happen to people that follow rules and the law? When I hear "unfortunately there's no timeframe for AP" it just takes the energy out of me and I feel like going home...
Good luck to us this week.
I'm in the same boat with you. I've called today, they told me the same thing "Still in AP". They know my voice already. I've been calling them every working day since i got thrown in this AP. I'm up to 31 days now..
sad; but if that what takes to be with someone loved, then so be it.
You are right Boghy, I just want my fiancee out of the Philippines specially with the latest disaster that occurred in our home country.
STUCK @ NVC for AP

I just called and they said my file is shipping to Manila Today!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG.
Checked DHL and there's a 60lb package to the Philippines.
I can't cry here at work...so I'll just save it until I call my fiancee.
Thank you all for your support...hope I'm not alone with the good news today
:)
