    Thanks all for the replies..I guess I also got used to the ways here in the U.S. Doctors do not ask those type of things unless they were "shrinks".

    I see the Psychological aspect. :)

    Anyways...she's done and just answered and provided everything they asked. Thank GOD that's over.

    My patient fiancee is on her 2nd day at SLMC...

    The question for those that have already done this...Is it normal for the examining physician to ask about marriage history like her annulment? Reason for separation? She was asked to bring her annulment papers today (2nd day).

    We were kind of upset because this is a medical examination and see no relevance why this information is needed unless you good people can tell me?? Other than for gossip use? I didn't see this in the requirements to bring to the medical exam.

    We felt we should have asked questions but just swallowed our pride so that she can finish her exams.

    Just sharing and maybe someone here has gone through the same thing..it really feels like invasion of privacy.

    She has all the paperwork except the Medical, she's going to do a walk in at St Luke's next week.

    Funny my fiancee was told the same by the NBI satellite office, they found her original record at the Clearance center, they said they can request the Clearance Center in Carriedo to deliver it to the satellite branch.

    She picked up the clearance 3 days later, and saved herself the trip to Carriedo.

    Did she call the Clearance Center in Carriedo or was it the satellite office who did? Maybe I can do the same...I've called the satellite office and they said I can try to check with them if it's already available on the 19th, a day before the pick-up date. But if I can have it as soon as possible without going to Manila, much better.

    It was the satellite branch at the SM MegaMall that called Carriedo. This is just a guess but they may have been able to to do it quickly because that Sat office is already in Manila.

    I didn't wait for any letter from USEM. The embassy received our files Sept. 30, I called USEM to schedule my interview last Oct. 6 and they said I'm not yet eligible to schedule an interview and I should wait for 2 more weeks to call again. My fiance called USEM this morning, Oct. 9 and he was able to get an interview date for me. He didn't ask what's the soonest available interview date. He just asked if I can have my interview date on the 21st since our requirements will be completed on the 20th and USEM said yes.

    That's awesome...that date is just a week+ out..:)

    I think I'm going to try this, and ask for an interview date a couple of weeks out if not sooner.

    By "requirements" do you mean the Medical exam?

    No, I'm done with my medical last Oct. 5 and 6. My fiance just sent the documents I need today via fedex so I'm expecting it to arrive in 5days or maybe even less. The major concern only is the NBI clearance since I filed at the satellite office and was found out that I have a namesake and because of that, I'll have to wait until Oct. 20th to get my clearance.

    I suggest you tell your fiancee to get the NBI clearance asap since it might be a delaying factor especially if her name is common. My name is not common and I used to get my clearance in less than an hour, now they said I have a namesake, thus the delay. I can get my clearance in Manila in just 3-4 days but I find going to Manila very exhausting so we have decided to just wait for the release of my request here.

    My congressional inquiry or my letter to the Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs has produced an email I just received, thought I would share with everyone:

    is in response to your letter concerning delays at the National Visa Center (NVC) in processing the I-129F petition, filed on behalf of I****** Ro*******.

    Delays at NVC are generally caused when required documentation is missing from a file or when the receiving embassy or consulate has a backlog of pending cases. We reviewed the records at NVC and found that Ms. Ro******’ fiancée petition was recently forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Panama City, Panama. Once the Embassy receives her file, an interview date can be scheduled. Ms. Ro****** will be contacted and provided with additional information and the date and time of her interview appointment

    I will be there in VN to visit in 48 days and I am focusing on that time together and what we need to do to be prepared for the interview that gets farther away every day that NVC does this to us.

    I called last night after not calling the day before and when she asked "what can I do for you" It went fast.. "Is my case still there?" "Yes" "Thanks bye"

    Call again later if you can...they start shipping docs around 3:30pm EST.

    Hello all!

    How long was the typical wait until you beneficiary got the letter from USEM stating they are eligible to schedule for an interview?

    I called the USEM obtained a PIN but they said that our case was just uploaded into the system.

    Do I have to wait for the letter or just call back in few days to schedule her for an interview?

    I kinda wanted to avoid delays because postal service sucks when delivering to the provinces.

    Also for those that just recently scheduled for an interview, how many weeks out is the actual interview date? 2 weeks 3 weeks?

    Ladonna and Crazy Mazy were right, that when the supervisor said "nothing new with your case" it didnt mean i wouldnt be approved the next day. And now we are out of AP!! They said it went out yesterday!! :o Thank you Lord Jesus! Thanks to everyone whom gave us encouragement and prayers. Wow! What a journey it has been thus far. And what a Godsend VJ is!

    @lenaandbilly - try calling the "real" dept of state ?? See if they can give you an update ?? (Not NVC) - **side note - do you really think NVC would admit to calling ?? That would be considered "customer service and who ever called would prob be fired .... :rofl: - good luck ! Hope it means good things

    Today was the day that NVC cust service sent me over the edge :bonk: ... I got the rep that has such a bad grasp on the english language that my fiance who does not speak english as her primary language could teach this woman english. She said she could not tell me anything other than the script.. she said she would get a supervisor.. then she came back to say nobody had time to talk to me now.. call back later... I said I would be glad to hold... No can't hold I have to use the line... call back... Since I had already called and waited on hold I saw no need to do it again tonight... So she said hold on and got what was reported to be a "supervisor".. yup her english was worst than the original rep.... She had no answers other than the ones given by the first person and when I asked what AP was and why I was having to go through it... Because of "natural security" she could not say nothing... and if I wanted to talk to someone I could call DOS... yep same number from earlier today when they asked me why I called them and not NVC... she finally gave me the silent treatment :pop: when I would ask her a question.. and when I would say well are you there? Are you going to answer me? She would just say.. yes I am here I hear you...

    So now its off to see my congressman tomorrow... Funny thing that his office is only a couple of blocks from mine... then off to get my senator into it... I paid to get the damned visa application processed and there is no reason for it to take any longer than any other case... or to just sit on someones desk..

    Ahh the rant is done...

    Natural Security? thats a good one, and we are paying these people, UGH!!!! National Security, geez. This is soooo pathetic, call Senator. I hope senator can help you!!

    I agree national security my butt. They give me license to carry a gun ,not that i ever carry one , but i got license no problem (they take fingerprint's and all) but they need to do additional checks on me for this . Yea right and i am supposed to believe them. I've been trying to be patient but i am done now i am going to call and e-mail anyone and everyone till i get out of AP. Thanks to this site i have lots of info of who to contact. OK sorry but i am getting pissed.. Congrats to everyone who got good news today and hope nobody else has to go through this. MY timeline NOA2 Aug. 26 NVC received Sept. 3 Still in AP hell

    National Security?? #######?? We have 2 porous borders, tens of thousands of illegal immigrants...and here we all are trying to follow every rule in the book, filled out every form with every piece of private information you can think of and they put our lives on hold for months!?? And oh yeah we paid for this ####### also.

    I wish people who follow the rules would get a break from time to time instead of getting screwed EVERYTIME.

    GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE...until my fiancee is next to me I don't consider us out of the woods just yet.

    I just called and they said my file is shipping to Manila Today!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG.

    Checked DHL and there's a 60lb package to the Philippines.

    I can't cry here at work...so I'll just save it until I call my fiancee.

    Well...ALL RIGHT! Darn good news bro. 60lb??? thats gotta be a bunch of other files right? Tell me you didnt submit 60lbs of documentation! LOL

    This is ridiculous. I just called again to NVC, try to make sure what the operator told me was true. And this operator told me "your case is under AP. Unfortunantely, we don't have a timeframe for it". I almost want to fiant right there. Then calmed myself down and told her I just called, and they told me it was out of AP one hour ago. She's like who told you told. I told her, well, one of your operator. Then, I was put on hold. And was told that it is cleared by the AP. And will take a few days before it will ship out. OMG, god bless me that it will be send to Guang Zhou with no "additional processing" any more.

    Congratulations!!

    I don't even want to call back LOLOL... :blush::dance:
